It'll be digital colouring - I think she's going to send me the actual drawing so I have it in person.

Good morning folks.
Nieve, awesome picture! He looks great!
Well, I am off on a hike up Mt. Jackson with my uncle and then tonight I have a four hour gig at the Mt. Washington Hotel. Today will be a light day for posting. Maybe I will be able to post around midnight when I get home. Have a great day!

I wanted to apologise for my mediocre contribution in HoRunes. I've been very stressed the last month with real life, and it's catching up to me and reaching its peak this coming week. I also have problems, admittedly, 'fitting' in with Nieve as a character since he is passive support. I am not sure how I can contribute to the team apart from healing, a base which Celestra covers well.
I'm still here, and I wish to continue, I'm just finding it difficult because of a lot of stress. I'm sorry.

Leaving for superhappyfuntime outdoors for a few days, and its pouring rain scheduled til I get home. Oh and it's still winter too!
Anyhow...
Likely actions:
Alcheringa - leave things alone if they leave him alone.
Harry - That wizard plays up, the cat gets it!
Murphy - Quietly examine everything and take photos & Notes.
Winter - Knock a big hole in the roof for his friends to get in, then be a little annoyed.
Victoria - Ca't talk for an hour, but can still zap-heal the little blighters.
Back Sunday evening!

Evening everyone. I stayed up all night and slept all day. I don't know why I do this to myself every time my kid goes to her dad's house. I guess the night owl in me is just too hard to fight when I don't have a little one to watch after.
Classes start Monday, and I also have court Monday. Once school starts, I may not be quite as active, but there shouldn't be much of a difference since I attend online from home.

Death and Dying is a pretty good class from what I remember. Interesting the how we all go through very similar cycles no matter where we are from.

I personally don't mind lectures - but I dislike philosophy. Having 12 hours of it is... infuriating, to say the least. On the other hand, it's only 12 hours every 4-6 weeks.
I've only taken one Philosophy class and I rather enjoyed it. They had us reading Sophie's World, along with our textbook and I really enjoyed the story. I've encouraged others to read it just because.

Yes, it is a good reflection of the "nature" aspects of humans, the things that bring us together, that make us alike. The "nurture" aspects come into focus so much in sociology, illuminating the differences between various cultures, it's good to take a class that shows the other side of the coin.

Namely what to do with our prisoners.
Karlan honestly wouldn't mind letting them go as they are. But, it's somewhat dawning on him kind of slowly what kind of person sticks around this place. So, in his mind he wants to figure out the full extent of their involvement.
We could jsut take them back to sandpoint and let the sheriff deal with them. As long Karlan can prevent them from recieving a death sentence that's okay. Issue of course is the fact the Sandpoint stockades have a record of 0-2 for prisoner safety.
Ultimately I'm thinking we might have to let them go but strip them of their non essential gear.
Nieve
Nieve is ambivalent about all of it. He wants to believe that good begets good, and through mercy, they won't return to seek vengeance or be a future obstacle. He's also not so naive to think that's reality. He's against taking lives, but it might be a necessity. He's a very passive character, but will argue about the good in all that lives and all that Shelyn bullcrap, out of habit.
Letting the sheriff take care of them might be a plan, though the question that requires answer is: will they return to exert vengeance upon us? The risk with intimidation is, in the aftermath, if they are spared, they are wont to hold grudges and not appreciate the mercy. In which case Nieve and Celestra are likely not subject to that vengeance since they didn't, y'know, treat the prisoners like trash.
That's just me, though. Whatever happens is all in good fun.

Alright, so leveling to 5th Paladin and need some input on the choices before me. For my divine bond I have a third choice above the usual weapon/mount due to being a Divine Defender. As a DD I can bond with my armor in the same manner that I can bond with a weapon gaining the ability to add bonuses, ect. What direction do you guys think will be the most useful? I'm thinking armor sounds like the way to go.
I will be taking tower shield as a feat, so I will soon need Vic's special abilities to get me the hook up on one of those doors of an enhanced variety. Might as well take advantage of the never encumbered by armor dwarf benefits for this type of paladin.
@Solaric, I have a magical heavy shield to add to the pot once I get my tower shield. I thought I remembered you saying you'd like one of those. We can work it in as a bit of story fluff.
@Vic, I have my set of masterwork spiked half-plate to toss in the storeroom.

I don't mean to bring up so much morality in a game such as this, but I am working out Celestra's philosophy of life in the face of great evil. I know this is just a game and we are all just having fun, so I don't want her to be a wet blanket. I think she will be ok with the intimidation as long as the actual torture does not take place. If she believes that it is all a bluff, she will be able to tolerate the intimidation if it is for the greater good. However, if Harry or someone else needs to be more persuasive with actual torture, then you will just have to ask Celestra to step out of the room or something.
With regards to setting prisoners free, well that is what a priest of Cayden Cailean would do. Freedom is obviously highly cherished. However, I don't think Cayden's followers would advocate setting free all of the criminals of the world. I think they would believe that with freedom comes responsibility. If you are unable to be good, then freedom is not going to be an option for you. This is a fine line, but if Celestra played it that way, do you think that could work for this group? I really don't want her being at odds with everyone for this campaign, but I certainly want to play her authentically and well. What other thoughts do you all have?

Eurgh, just added it all up and I just worked a near 100 hour week. I am super tired.
As for letting the prisoners go when we leave the fort. That too is not going to sit well with Kanyk. They've done wrong, either directly or indirectly and should be judged and fairly punished for it. He'd be quite happy to drag the pair back to Sandpoint and let the Sheriff deal with them, but he might request that some impartial witnesses take part in the judgements (travellers with good standing or something) because all of the bad blood after the raid on the town.

Lol - it has been many years, but I recall Waves and Vibrations - not a class I would want to repeat. The others sound like fun although I recall electro dynamics to be tough - I assume that is what your electromagnetism is.

@Kanyk O.o A science nerd. I love science nerds :) Science has always been one of my all time favorite subjects, but I've never had the brain power make it a life focus. I won a metal when I graduated high school for the enthusiasm I expressed in science class. One of my Associate Degrees is an Associate of Sciences in Biological Sciences. Which, actually, is a bit meaningless, because in the end, I didn't take but one biology class for that degree after learning that the other biology classes wouldn't transfer when I stated at FHSU. I loved Chemistry but struggled in it some because math is not my friend, lol. Astronomy has always been my favorite. The Physical Science class I took was kind of a slot filler, it did cover some things I was unfamiliar with but it touched on a lot of things I remembered from high school.
Kanyk
@Ailetha Aurcalam: Yeah, did a bit of wave physics last year and it was interesting, but the maths was a little horrible.
As for electromagnetism, I'm not quite sure what the course covers at the moment as the School of Physics have taken down there website to make it prettier and that was where I found all the course specifications. All I know is that it is going to make a lot of use of all the divs and curls we learnt about last year.
@Bree: Haha, Chemistry. When I started at Uni I was planning to do a masters of Chemistry, but after the first year of memorising organic reaction schemes, reagents and conditions I decided it wasn't exactly the course for me. Far too much of it seemed to rely on pretty much rote learning. Physics on the other hand, learn a few equations, work out how to derive everything else from said few equations and then do lots of maths and you are pretty much set. I like that a lot more.
Heavy Harry
Agreed it is a bit of a problem.
I think Harry would be of the view that if there was nothing to tie them to any attacks on Sandpoint then they could indeed be let go, sans valuables, their apparent crime simply being 'idiots'... On the other hand he'd be quite amenable to handing them over to the Sheriff, and would have no problem with the death penalty. Harry is used to much harsher 'Riddleport rule' - although he's also in half a mind to employ Riddleport justice and send them walking the plank... but he's trying hard to do things the 'Sandpoint' way.
Also, Harry doesn't hold grudges tooooo often... Celestra. Especially if they are chicks, and even more especially if they are hot.
He CAN be chivalrous and decent, mostly... :p
TarkXT
I don't think giving them over to the sheriff is a good idea if we want to stay on good terms with him. Karlan has basically told these people that if they help they will avoid getting hanged and may get their freedom. may is the important word here since he understands that they are not as innpcent as they plead. However if he hands them over to the sheriff and they die of "accidents" you can bet that'll be the last straw for Karlan. It was bad enough when the sheriff decided to beat a prisoner to death with his bare hands, then Tsuto ended up dead before we got a proper chance to interrogate him. He can chalk one up to the mans temper and understandable rage, the other might simply ahve been an assassin or possibly even a friend of his sisters. But if these people end up dead? Yeah, he can't possibly justify his paladin code in the face of sending people to what amounts to a death pit.
On that note however I don't wish to screw people out of loot. I'm well aware that the only piece of magic gear we've gotten to date that didnt immediately get used up is Karlan's current sword. I'd personally fel kind of like a douche if I let my characters morals get in the way of letting the group upgrade out of its basic low level stuff.

Yes, Celestra values freedom. I think she values it so much that she is even willing to give Harry the freedom to choose his own way of doing things, even if she does not approve. I really don't want Celestra to be a pain in the butt, but she doesn't know her new friends that well yet and it is difficult for her to know if Harry will really follow through and torture somebody. She just cannot watch Harry's convincing performance and not believe that he is going to do it. Consequently, she had to say something. Let's just say that Celestra needs to work through this grim business.
I still hope you will enjoy working and playing with her. I hope she will be a lot of fun to hang out with and a valuable ally. I don't foresee it happening, but I also hope that she doesn't end up arguing with her companions this whole adventure. So, Celestra won't hold a grudge against Harry either. She is too positive to let negativity fill her life. However, you can still expect her to give Harry a hard time for his orcish behavior. :p Let me know if you have any suggestions to help role play this free and wild spirit in this exciting adventure. :-)

Yes I can definitely see where that would be more appealing. I don't have the worlds greatest memory so that was also an issue for me in Chemistry. I was finally able to get the majority of the symbols memorized most of the way through the class, but since I no longer use them I would guess I've retained maybe 1/8 of them.
Why do things never turn out as planned? Instead of a clean fight after a smahed in door, we now have a giant trampling down roofs in HORI...al your fault Shifty. :)
And it's totally awesome. Don't forget the awesome part. You're the one who made the doors iron, lol.
