What a craptastic week this has been, including today (Sunday). I've had multiple after-hours projects over the past week. This Saturday I was on call so my morning was shot; then I get a call at 11:30 (on-call ends at 12:30) that there's a problem w/phones at the main branch (I wokr for a credit union). I spend all afternoon there, until about 2:30. I made it to my son's first time piloting an airplane--our Xmas present fo rhim last year that we only just scheduled.
as soon as I get home, I get teh alert taht our main application server is down. No problem, I log in to boot it up (it's a virtual server)--"file not found."
crap.
I spend 2 horus on the phone with tech support, and the server is absolutley not recoverable.
no problem, I'ma lso the backup administrator. I need to recreate a new VM, install the backup software on it, and do a restore--except taht only the straight files are backed up, not teh System State (out of about 30 servers I back up, only this one and one other was not getting System State backed up and I have no idea why). Whcih means all the applications have to be reinstalled.
so on a gorgeous Sunday while my family is out flying my son's new RC plane, I'm sitting in the office babysitting an installation of SQL Server so I can restore the databases. phluckin crap. i REALLY REALLY Needed a break this weekend, and I did NOT get it. Plus, I get to look like a total chump because it's really my responsibility to make sure the servers get backed up properly, and the ONE TIME a major server crashes utterly, that's the ONE SERVER that is *not* backed up properly.
Wow Vaughn that sucks. Maybe something spectacularly wonderful will happen later this week to balance out the spectacularly craptastic day you're having now.

TR, do domesticated cats actually count as "woodland creatures?"
Sure they do, especially when they're indoor/outdoor cats and I live near a small wooded area where she likes to hunt cicadas.

If you toss them in the pond, they swim, so I would consider them aquatic. And while they are pretty good at landing on their feet, they are not that good at staying aloft, so I am going to have to agree that they are not avian.
But they're not born able to swim, simply not strong enough.

so my server rebuild limped along with surprising success. Even though I spent most of that gorgeous Sunday spinning my wheels failing ot get SQL Server installed on the newly rebuilt server, I managed to get the required database on a different SQL server.
so Monday AM came along, and almost everything worked without a hitch. After the constant stress and tension of the previous 36 hours, hearing that nearly made me cry (for real). Now the job is just to get all configurations correct, restore a few SQL databases to different servers, and that nightmare is over.

Soooo...My character is finally ready, if ZZ agrees with everything
ZZ:I spend 1.000 GM on a single Item, which would be too much. I would like to keep those bracers of armor +1 anyway - they will have little impact on the game (Mage armor will take care of that), but I very much see 'Kosti' go through some pains to aquire this item that makes him feel a little safer.

I know Mobo will have his problems, but I would really like to have that horse. I imagine it to be one of the calmest, most controlled beasts around (Kosti cannot really ride) which is why I too a warhorse, I imagine this calmness to be what would be considered combat training elsewhere. If you agree we could just make that animal part of a good natured quibbling, if you don't I will look for something else as the 200GP item from my second trait (if ZZ allows that trait, anyway).

Congrats on the kittens. We are soon to be in the market for one, but that is a long way to go, when there are so many here needing a home.

She hid them behind the chair, she had them in a little cubby made of a cardboard box with a part of it cut out and a sheet, but she moved them yesterday morning. I'll see about snapping a shot of them the next time she leaves them. It may not be super awesome though, since they're tucked back like that. They are adorable.

Vielleicht könnten wir deinen Charakter als "Auftraggeber" einführen? Wäre es möglich, dass er eine semikriminelle karriere bei dem berühmt berüchtigten Red Raven eingeschlagen hat? Der ist so eine Art Robin Hood/ Gentleman Dieb und wird die Gruppe anheuern, weil er jemanden braucht, der seine Geliebte rettet. Du könntest ja Mitglied seiner Bande sein und von ihm ausgeschickt um Söldner zu finden.

Yes, Zyren, they are. I love all animals (well mostly all... I can't stand spiders and a few other things) but cats have always been my favorite.

Fakt ist, der Red Raven hat einige seiner Leute ausgesandt, um nach geeigeneten Gruppen von Abenteurern zu suchen. Natürlich findest du diese Gruppe und wirst zusammen mit ihnen nach azurestone in Galt reisen - da gehts dann weiter
