So, the head chaperone mentioned that the kids like to get all dressed up for the awards ceremony.

So should I do:

  • Fish pants and a Chaperone Joe sweatshirt,
  • Jeans and a decent shirt,
  • Full slacks, formal shirt, tie, and jacket?

  • All of them have their appeal... especially the fish pants...

    Or

  • Rolled up cargo-shorts (in attempt to make them look bootyshorty...and keep them dry) and a Bound up shirt (the same mostly) to show off your midriff, and a felt-ish cap.

(That was what I was wearing while giving the horses their going home flea/gnat/other vermin bath)

It's sad -- I canceled my subscription to the pawns not because I didn't like them, but because none of my players liked them. They take up a ton of space, and given a glass bead or a pawn, my players preferred the glass bead.

    So there you go.

Funeral was today. Nearly 500 in attendance (most of her school, her church, and her other friends, most of her family, and family friends, as well as much of her medical staff, doctors, nurses, and others) - many of the others who’d wanted to come literally didn’t fit in the church - down to 120 (-ish) at the gave side (again, intentionally paired down due literally no room for vehicles at the cemetery). Beautiful services in both (I was a pallbearer, as I’d been for her twin brother), and beautiful to see the love, joy, and inspiration she’d been to so many.

Thank you all for your well-wishes, posts, PMs, and prayers. Love you guys and appreciate you all.

She would have been twenty next month. I am so grateful for every year, month, week, day, hour, minute, and second she was alive. And I am now grateful for every part of the eternity of joy she gets to be part of.

To respond to one point, as she’s told me this same thing, before: no one wants a false profession of faith, but all faith is tested, some more than others, and some more successfully than others; one of my favorite professions of faith comes from the Bible, and goes like this: “Lord, I believe, and help me with my unbelief!” There goes a man who chooses fro have faith, despite experiencing such doubt and such pain that he can’t find how to believe. And that’s okay. Because faith is not a feeling (though feelings can be associated with it), and it is not an unshakable certainty. It is described as a shield, but no one said that holding shields makes you not feel pain, and anyone who’s held one (and gotten whacked while doing so) can relate how heavy such a thing can be. No one’s faith journey is the same and none of you need “find” a faith that starts and stays unassailable and infinite. Ups and downs come, and that’s okay. Many do not understand that it’s okay to simply say, “Lord, I believe: help me with my unbelief!” Faith is not an arrival point - it’s one more journey you take among many. And it is absolutely worthwhile.

Anyway, last I’ll post on this for a bit - but I wanted to honor my niece’s expresses desires and will that if she dies in this world, others take this opportunity to trust in Jesus. And after all, “How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?”

And I’ll take the bikes, Fritzy and Freehold - more than worth it to invite all y’all that I love to hang out with me both here and the hereafter. And whether or not you accept, whether or not you believe, and no matter what it is you say or do, know that you are loved.

Why Everybody Hates Trade Wars With NobodysHome

So, Final Fantasy Online has a very robust crafting and marketplace system, so you can craft hard-to-get items, check what other people are selling them for, and sell them for a competitive price. Most people politely align with the current lowest price. It's a remarkably-polite community.

Then there are the jerks who just HAVE to come along and undercut everybody.

So one of my "staple items" is an orchestrion: A music player that has been selling on the market for months for 300,000. Mine stopped selling about a week ago, and I checked, and one guy had put up 8 on the market at 290,000, so was forcing prices down.
So I dropped the price on my one item down to 250,000, figuring I'd let it sell then he could get his 290,000.

Within 2 hours, he'd dropped all his prices down to 240,000, just to beat me.

Well, I'm patient, I'm Lawful, and I'm vengeful.

If he'd just matched my price, I would have let it go.

Instead, the market is now flooded with 50,000 gp orchestrions, 'cause those aren't worth making so if he undersells me it'll be at a loss.

Ever considered an even playing field, fella?

Hmm trading wars... I'll say I might have sold a few things cheaper then current market rate, but Vanguard back then was a new game and jute bags were really really expensive at the start. But again I was more interested in grinding up my tailoring level, so I'd go to a zone, start yelling budget bags until I got the zone happy, or my raw materials ran out(I set a quota for those), then I'd just get back to the crafting bench to grind more tailoring levels.

Vanguard crafting community was like FAWTL. They were helpful(they recognize the long slog it is to actually pick up crafting), happy to give out free gear they outgrew or spare gear, mostly silly and funny (to relieve the tedium of grinding craft levels). So to undercut a fellow crafter...eh..>< It's like kicking puppies.

I even had a dark elf apprentice and we'd spend our time on craft channel, guess what? Having tomato fights. We'd throw virtual tomatoes at each other and welcomed anyone to join the tomato brawl. Eating tomatoes and all that was welcome.

But weight really does matter. My aunt had less achy feet after she lost some weight. Seriously I don't mind exercising its just there's only so many hours in a day. Which reminds me...off running tomorrow.

Still likes Mort kitty despites her "Clawful" nature :P

Don't really run, though I go swimming for about an hour twice a week, though to be realistic, I'll probably have to increase it to around 5 times a week to get any really noticeable results…

*Slaps the side of his turtle beer belly, and watches mesmerized, by the wave slowly rippling across it*

Swimming is a good idea if you're overweight since it's less strain on your knee joints. I did lose weight by swimming every weekday in the hols, but you'd probably want to push some speed while you're at it. I swim with the grace of a whale. Really. I'm like just paddling slowly along.

But I can swim 3/4 the breadth of an Olympic sized pool underwater. Back then I could do whole breadth underwater, and I'm still trying to get that back.

    Not much.

Went to work - asked for a letter of recommendation from my former employer, and got one (its okay content-wise, but not that well written, looks like a bit of a rush job).

Finished touching up my resume by this afternoon, attached the LR above and sent it out to a couple of stables, a horse-breeder and a riding school.

Crossed my fingers for a positive response back.

    Went for a swim.

News before I start on the interminable loot spreadsheet for Crimson Throne (Shiro, being Shiro, convinced the group to fight the entire castle at once, so it's a big loot list.):

  • So, as expected, the guy I was having a trade war with bought up all the items I was selling dirt cheap. Money for me, wasted space for him! Yay!
  • Seeing a trade war going on, a third guy jumped into the fray, undercutting the instigator. I practically fell out of my chair laughing. "You know, you could have just matched my prices like everyone else the in the game does and you wouldn't be in this pickle..."
  • Impus Major strongly recommended fish pants, so I texted head chaperone to joke about it. She seconded fish pants. So yep, I'm showing up to a formal event in fish pants and a Chaperone Joe sweatshirt.
The choir director said, "That's fine; it's not like he's going to have to talk..."
I think she missed the part where the head chaperone wants me to tell a bunch of stories onstage...

My favorite question was the one about the guy who yelled at everyone in the break room and put up a sign that said, "Get back to work, slackers!" and you were supposed to identify the type of harassment.

I got it so wrong they finally had to give me the answer.

    Verbal, written, physical, or visual?:
It isn't harassment. He wasn't targeting any protected groups. He was just a jerk.
