I used to think the Underdark was a pretty cool place.

Then I played Skyrim, and went to Blackreach.

Now, f$!# all that, I want to see the sun!

Great! That'll really help me live long enough to see the sun.

OK, this is one Iron Chef episode I'd watch specifically if Alton was in it.

Man do I hate b#*#!!&& puzzles.

"One must press button thusly, four times, not three, not two, but four times!

After gyrating to your left in a counterclockwise manner, you must then press that button thrice, then the one next to it twice in a rapid fashion. Not too quickly though, as you will then be decapitated in a dramatic fashion and must then return henceforth to your previous save, which was an hour ago, at least, because you didn't have the g@#+*~n sense to save it more!!.

And that concludes our lesson on how one smashes an Xbox 360. Tune in next week when we try to return it to BestBuy."

TFY's Rule #124. If you can’t solve the puzzle in 5 minutes of real game time, break it.

For the record, I tried to smash it, shoot it with arrows, shout at it (which is actually a big deal in Skyrim), even had my Atronach entourage do their thing, no dice.

The internet was very helpful however.

Oh, ye FaWtLies of Great Resource:

Speaking of Iron Chef, we used to LOVE watching the original Japanese version, in Japanese, with subtitles...
...and we CANNOT find it ANYWHERE!

Linkies or places to buy, please?

This evening, some chaps who are going to a tournament this weekend wanted to practice five vs. five melee at HEMA, so we did that, and it was very good fun, even if all I did was stand in formation and point a longsword at the opposition. It helps to have the one person who's actually trained in using a polearm and a noisy Hungarian man on your team, but we still did pretty well, even winning when it was eight vs. five, when it was close to the end and things started to get a bit silly

Blackreach can be monotonous. But you are also making me nostalgic for Skyrim.

So, playthrough 1 of Skyrim was as a sword-and-board warrior. Did companions quests, destroyed the Dark Brotherhood, no DLC. Sided with the empire.

Playthrough 2 was as a destruction and conjuration-focused mage. Did university quests, Dragonborn DLC (literally every quest I could find on that island), built a house, sided with the rebels.

Playthrough 3 was as an archery / backstab focused stealth character. Did thieves guild and assassins quests, became a vampire and did that whole quest line, and stayed neutral in the civil war.

If I do another playthrough, what should it be?

I have a lot of luck with conjuring and big f~@!ing sword, with unrelenting force my go to shout to knock everyone on their ass so I can summon my Atronach and get out my big f**#ing sword. Archery for my back up.

Turns out Elder Dragons are a thing, a thing you do not want to walk up to and assume you're going to f#@~ up, because they like to grab you, shake you around then throw your lifeless body in some anonymous stream.

Ouch.

But, I'm sure you'll do fine. :-)

You just walk up to the dragon and say "I've Got The Power!"

Remember Captain Yesterday's #1 rule of Skyrim, if you're unsure, die.

Only through death, will I find knowledge, in the literal sense.

Although I did find Dawnstar, and I didn't die at all, so clearly, I did it wrong and need to go back and do it over.

Just bought two books from here and realised that if I had of actually started and then stopped a subscription (once they shipped), I could have had the corresponding .pdfs for free as well. :(

We have 'dump stats', but we do not have stats for dumps, FATAL 3pp expansions aside.

When is 'Bowel Movements of the Inner Sea' going to get released, eh?

Not sure, but when it does come out there better be a table to roll on to see how much corn there is.

Hello! Outside of regret (which I understand all-too-keenly; it's not stupidity, though - it's thoughtlessness or distraction*), how are you?

* It's important to note the difference, as anyone can have thoughtless moments or fail to think of things in a manner that clarifies their relationship until after-the-fact. It takes a truly special individual to be stupid, however, and desire X, which is avilabke by way of y (as they know and are currently aware), but go through method z (which does not work that way)! Like me**! :D

** Nope. No excuses. I know that was stupid. Kiiiiiiiind of knew it at the time, too. Stubbornness is as stubbornness does, one supposes... but it's stupid when you know it won't work.

Captain Yesterday's Dreamscape Story Minute.

Had a dream last night that aliens were turning people into Zombies and we were holed up in a suburban house strangely reminiscent of the house they lived in in Fear the Walking Dead. And the whole time I'm like "this isn't our house, I'm not even supposed to be here today!"

*sigh* yes, I have been watching The X-Files, Fear The Walking Dead, and Clerks, why do you ask?

Worse. Iron Chef America replaced Chairman Kaga with Mark Dacascos... who appeared as an Inhuman on several episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and thus is corrupted with Whedon's taint.

You haven't truly experienced LA traffic until you've driven around L.A. for at least a week.

unmoving cars never happens in New York. Unless there was a horrible accident.
