I had the near scariest event of my life yesterday.
My older brother has been on bottled oxygen for the last week now do to a combination of dialysis and diabetes. His hemoglobin has not been utilizing his oxygen properly. We, the family, were warned by his physician that we should keep an eye on him in case he passes out and cannot revive himself. After using the bathroom Sunday morning, he stood, fell, smashed his face against the bathroom door. The worse of it was yet to come.
He had heart attack and stopped breathing. My brother flat-lined for nearly five minutes. To make short work a combination of CPR, 9-11, and the rapid response of the county's EMTs, all nine of them, was able to stabilize and revive a heartbeat. As of late, has been prepped with coolant packs to lower his body temperature and remains comatose for the last 30 hours. He's still not out of the woods and I will not know until Thursday at the earliest.
I'm off to see him this afternoon. Wish me luck.

So who is Lunalynx, anyway? A Thundercat?
Yes from East Thundera, part of the seldom talked about branch. Every family has a black sheep and trying to steal the Sword of Omens once too often gets you kicked out. Thundercat family: can't live with them, can't kill them without being accused of genocide...

I just got back from Desert Springs Hospital around half-an-hour ago. Lee, my brother, is on a ventilator for breathing but his heart rhythm is doing good, for the shape it is. They're in the process of "thawing" him off coolant packs and will proceed with another round of observations and tests. They still don't know the extent of the damage to his brain, if any, at this point. I'll know more by tonight or early tomorrow morning. This "thawing" process takes about 8 to 12 hours.
Anyway, thank you for the warm wishes and prayer. the last 48 hours have been tiresome and trying.
To take my mind of things, I went and saw Conan the Barbarian this afternoon. A solid action flick worthy of Robert E. Howard and sn excellent adventure if it could be adapted Pathfinder, especially the curved double scimitars.

Had a good but very busy weekend. Bought a car. Went to the renn fair. Managed to sort out the mess with my financial aid (I hope.) All good, but exhausting. And the kidlet is already lobbying to have a costume made for him and to go back to renn. :)
Minor: I meant to type hospice, but typed hospital.
It's his family I feel so bad for. You wish you could do something more substantial for them, but all you can do is share their suffering.
