Well, it is VERY nice getting a nighttime callout and being done in less than 15 minutes. ~YAWNS~ Oh well. Time to go back home. Sleep well everyone.

Well, last night the boys set off down the faery path, only to discover it ran through the shallow edge of a long pond. I planned on some diplomacy and the chance to test themselves against some charming, but the dice were against them. The nixies were their in high numbers and their reaction roll indicated failed diplomacy and immediate attack. The boys saved against Nixie charms, but the others summoned giant bass and attacked. Three npcs were dropped in the first round and they withdrew as seven nixies were put to sleep. Their respect for the fey is increased. today they will enter play in the fields of the killer bees.

So the big discussion has started. The husband and I have started talking about adopting. He never really wanted to have kids and I didn't for quite awhile, but I don't want to get to my 40's and regret not having one and neither does he. So begins a very long long discussion process.....
Don't adopt Sharoth or Urizen. They'd just steal your minis and leave you broken hearted.
Me, on the other hand...

A lot of things change with kids. They are as wonderful as they are frustrating, I think you two have a lot to offer a kid, good luck with the decision.

When do you start looking after your niece? Is that still planned?
Maybe that can give you a good idea of how your life would change with kids in the house, and then go from there.

Thats actually been changed. My mother-in-law recovered from her cancer scare. She now has a good job and has decided she would rather look after her, than have her granddaughter so far away. But that resolution has sort of gotten us on our adoption path.

First, good to hear the good news on the in-laws account.
Second, good luck and have fun contemplating this path.
With that, I'm outta here.

I have post-test anxiety. I want my scores dammit! ....which will likely happen later rather than sooner. Especially for A&P. I was the first one to take the test even though it's been open since Thursday and closes Monday.
Meh. I'm just gonna have to get over it and move on to the next project. Stupid research project with murky parameters that I can never seem to make any progress on. It would be so much easier if it were a standard scientific paper. :S

Glad to hear that your mother-in-law is doing better.
It's good that you guys are talking things through. Even if it's just to make a plan to do something a couple years from now. When it comes to kids it's super important to have both people on board ahead of time. Being a parent is crazy difficult and every bit of worth it. But you gotta know ahead of time what you're getting into.

I was a baaaaaad student today.
So we had to write a thesis for an argument that we would present in a paper (as practice) and we were given a sheet on it with facts on water. So I choose "human body is 75% water". And then proceeded to write about Dune and how the human body is an untapped water source....is it bad form to troll your teacher?

Weren't you going to be taking care of your sister's child/children? (Or something like that.)
Edit: Never mind -- saw your answer.
