Let's say Gran paid me $1 to bake a cake for him today. (we'll say he never mentions what he's going to use the cake for). He invites Freehold, NH, Vidmaster to his house to share the cake I was supposed to bake with them. I'm a lazy arse who spends my day spamming FAWTL boards and I never deliver that cake to Gran.

Vidmaster, Freehold and NH have not paid me anything. So why should they gain the benefit of being able to sue me when they have not even given me anything? Heck, I don't even know who they are. Nor would I have known that my cake would have been eaten by them.

That's why courts generally only let the parties to the contract sue.

Now scenario 2:

I deliver a spoiled cake to Gran, who shares it with Vidmaster 7,Freehold and NH. Everyone gets a stomach ache. Then everyone can bring an action under me as per [Donoghue v Stevenson], since as a manufacturer I owe a duty of care to my consumers(my cake shouldn't give them a stomachache). But that would fall under Tort, and no longer contract law.

I see one major problem with your scenarios: I don't share cake.

Being nekkid is not a problem.

The Exchange

Is it that bad? I mean I like cake, but I'm fine sharing as well (maybe because I can just bake more).

I'll actually share food, it's just not default behavior and you'll need to ask me first. Otherwise some stuff might get eaten up before you get a chance to try it.

It was kind of a joke.

The cake is a lie.

The Exchange

Because well there are times I'm so greedy I refuse to share but thankfully it doesn't happen often.

Or is there no Cake?

Cake. I'm too young to die.

Looks like I'll be posting from my chromebook a lot more...

I'm going to FightCamp, where I intend to camp and fight. I might also fight campily, depending on whether or not there's a smallsword class.

I have a big green cloak, a sorta shofar, my swords and some Lapsang Souchong, so I'm pretty much sorted.

Weren't you the other one who liked the Vlad Taltos novels?

Fighting campily should come quite naturally to you.

Fightcamp?

In the US we call it Fight Club and you have to beat up Ed Norton to get in.

Alas, there's a waiting list.

Last night when I got home from work, the toilets and sinks were working, and the stove and oven finally had gas to them!
The trench that had been dug through the yard for the new gas line had been filled in and the grass and shrubs that had been dug out for the trench had been replaced.
Allegedly, today we are supposed to get a new water heater, which means that tomorrow morning I should be able to take a hot shower for the first time in a week and a half.
Which means that I will have no excuse not to start jogging in the mornings to work off some of the stress carbs I've been consuming all summer.

Edward Norton made Death to Smoochy, which (if you like your comedy as dark as my coffee) is one of the funniest movies ever.

So I can't punch him.

You'd be surprised what you're capable of after watching The Incredible Hulk.

Glad to hear things are getting resolved, lm!

You *get* that shower, girl! :D

*pinches nose, waves merrily*

Ed Norton is alright, he was just the only person I remembered was in Fight Club, which I have yet to see.

The air is getting slippery.

I'm the only person I know who hated Fight Club, but most of my friends are guys.

It's also the only movie that has made me think, "Hmm, maybe I'm kinda over Helena Bonham Carter for a while." But then she played Bellatrix and won my heart back.
Brad Pitt was in it. He gets punched a lot. And Brad Pitt really ought to get punched a lot, especially for making "Troy".

I never watched Fight Club.

Though I somewhere had read the spoiler about the movie.

Damn, it's not Friday.

I think I've become a dragon, but my hoard is water bottles. I don't know quite how, but I walked in this morning and had four on my desk. These were not here last week.

No...

But it is the day I was supposed to leave 50 minutes ago on...
I knew I should've set an alarm...
Maybe I can make it up on the high way...

Grats on water and gas! Yayyyy!

I am not a cake guy, unless it's carrot cake I'll usually pass.

But last weekend Mrs. Sunrise made an amazing new thing for a ritual of hers, a honey cake. The first two tries stuck to the pan, so I got to eat a lot of it before the third try went smoothly. It involved honey, brown sugar, and a bit of coffee, and it is now the second cake on my YES!-list.

Boney cakes...hmm.

Kjeldorn, did you ever think of adopting a dog from an animal shelter. You like animals around you and I believe the feeling is mutal.

Yea…

The apartment complex has a strict no pets, that can't be kept in a fish tank or terrarium.
Further more I'm not sure I could live with myself knowing that I would be stowing a dog (or even a cat) into a small 3-room apartment.

And now I'm just like feeling like curling up into a ball because I ran out of ginger tea. Fine, it's not THAT bad, again drinking double ginger tea in one day would be bad on the sugar count.

No picking up the rabbit in question.

I arrived late, but I was in full contact with my parents about how and why.
I was an hour late, but I could've made up half an hour if it wasn't for construction on the road that caused people to slow down, and stop.
I still don't know why people had stopped, or why it took 25 minutes to move along 3 miles, since they only blocked one lane for all of 1000 feet.

Do you know what this girl has?
A BRAND NEW, FUNCTIONAL WATER HEATER!
Also a free used washer and dryer which are running at this very moment!
Beat-up and old, but still quite serviceable.

I'm certainly not scared of a pogo stick. You just really need to wash that face fungus. It's pretty dang funky.

Like I said, man. Just wash it. Then we'll all come back. Promise.
