And the Classic Shell was discontinued on December last year... :(
Current version should work fine for me as long as I don't get a new computer that probably end having Windows 10. Classic Shell does work with Windows 10, for now, but a future update might change things far enough to make it less stable...

Your Classic Scales have been discontinued too, it seems.

My mum grew a 12ft sunflower this summer. There's a photo of her standing next to it, but she doesn't look particularly happy about the whole thing, possibly because she is only 5' 4" herself. I grew (am growing) quite a lot of beans.

I also bought a khyber knife recently (top one in the linked image), after we hit the yearly slalels target and I got a bonus. Those things are scary.

Wait, is that one of easter egg "nude" patches?!

I just finished my first week of teaching at the new school.
The kids are awesome. It's amazing how happy and responsive children are when they are not oppressed with a ridiculous amount of arbitrary rules.
And it's amazing how much higher staff morale is when ditto.

The kids and I put Whingey Wizzard on a plane back to California yesterday morning. He comes back Wednesday night, so I have a week of single parenting. Whee.

There's a local pizza chain called, I kid you not, Pizza Patrón. The signage is reminiscent of Rocky Rococo's, or like Rocky Rococo's would be if it were Mexican-themed and slightly less horrifying. The menu involves a lot of smoked chorizo and red onion. I haven't ordered yet because my family expects me to make pizza, not buy it.

It's a fine FaWtL tradition.

Nah, if we'd broken it, they would have shut down FaWtL, wouldn't they?

Did you want us to break it for longer?

Depends. Is that a record?

Personally, I blame the Void Gnomes.

It's here, as long as you're not on a corporate laptop and forced to suffer.

I've used it on home computers and I agree with Rosita -- it works well.

I love Classic Shell! Thanks again for telling me about it, Rosita.

I'm glad you're happier at your new job. And paizo going down made me sulk for an entire week. Why did you put Whingey Wizard on a plane? Was it to find some snakes?

Will be nephew sitting later so will poof

Well back at work and on the paizo website it seems like that's been awhile. What has the peeps been up to?

Getting sloshed (at least last night). Seriously. I wasn't expecting the site to be up, so yesterday, I opened a bottle of Bordeaux with the cockscrew from a swiss army knife and some help from wiki how, and drank about 500 ml from it.

I guess we all have our own ways of coping...or not :P

*purrs and nuzzles Kjeldorn*

Man you took it harder then I did. I was just getting bored.

The Exchange

Nah it wasn't that bad. You see the problem is I was getting frustrated with the paizo downtime and since my nephew was coming the next day and I wasn't going to get sleep while being frustrated, and I was free since paizo boards was not up and that Bordeaux was around since like last year, I decided it was a good time to drink it.

Cool. I just read a book. and some comics.

I read a 40k... well technically 30k I guess novel. And like most of the dc and marvel comics that have came out this year plus 2 image ones.

Random story someone reminded me of today.

So I encountered what I can only define as an alien mindset (in that I can not quite comprehend it) This is the third time That I have met someone who thinks like this (that was an adult) and made it known to me. The person's morality was based on outside observation. one example of this was on an old Java RPG thing on the white wolf website. I was talking to the ST about a character that I was trying to get approved and we got into an argument and I was excessively rude. So the next day I felt bad so I got on one of my characters that was approved messaged and apologized the strange thing was she couldn't comprehend why I did that since she had no way of knowing that the person who was rude and my other characters were related. She was even suspicious of me after that.

basically its someone who only does the morally right thing while being observed otherwise they will get away with everything they can. however the distinction between them and just someone afraid of being punished is they think it is appropriate behavior and its completely morally ok.

I don't know If I explained it well enough because their is this strangeness to it that I can't quite grasp. Otherwise they seem like good enough people.

Sounds kind of like the "it's only cheating/illegal if you get caught" mindset.

Yeah its very similar but I always thought the its only cheating when you get caught mindset still implied that you know what you are doing is wrong in some way. Maybe I didn't take it as extreme as these people when I heard it.

Oh yeah I've played pretty well everything white wolf made. I think the only ones I didn't get a chance to play was the weird ones like eastern vamp, mummy, and demon. I've been steadily buying the new editions that onyx path has been putting out.

same here. Werewolf is my main game, and I truly enjoyed werewolf 20, but vampire 20 gave me new respect for the game overall, especially their v20 clanbook thing. Amazing. I was hoping they would do the same for werewolf.

Changeling 20 blew me away even more than mage 20, and that's saying something. I have a write up for mage based on the new mage stuff.

I cannot wait for hunter 20. I was one of the few hunter fans out there and I loved the game- I could see where they were going even if most people could not. Unlike what usually happened in most vampire, werewolf and mage games, hunter really was a game that started and ended in horror, not superheroes. You were very much unlikely to survive, and you would likely learn a lot about the other beings in the process, and that was the truly scary thing. I also liked the internet chat based storytelling system(and the fact that despite what mage and werewolf said, the internet was invented by humans and was very much for humans- what they do with it is still very much an aspect of their respective spirit worlds).

I want a hunter 20 and I wish they would remake demon that would work with those cause I wanted to try it. Hunter always reminded me of clive barker's vampires. My first hunter character was basically Mad max but with vampires. yeah I like all the classic WOD best I didn't care as much for the set that came after.

It's a summary of my week in a nutshell.

Except I left out the continuing weirdness with my former California landlord, and the stress-relief coloring book my sister mailed me ("Calm the F*** Down"), and the fact that I unpacked the framed art and am now trying to decide if WW will be super annoyed with me if I hang over the bar the framed poster my grandpa kept in his office. This is former Portland Mayor Bud Clark and this was Portland's Arts campaign during his tenure. I adore this. WW will kill me.

What have I been doing while Paizo was down... Shoves the box of poorly made stick aliases under the bed.

Not much, worked had my birthday, survived catastrophic flooding (also on my birthday and continuing), tried to teach Big (Slow) Pete a thing or two, decided maybe he was teaching me, nope, he definitely didn't teach me anything, took my dog to the vet, who was a hack, took dog to a different vet, she was much, much more professional, and now I'm walking a mile or so to get coffee before the wife wakes up.

that sounds pretty damn fun. I could see that happening in a sabbat city, easily, especially during one of their "game" nights.

I hope they redo demon as well. There were some amazing concepts there that kinda just fell flat.

The only nwod I like is Changeling. It is TERRIFYING, these are NOT nice fae, these are frightening things that play with humans of a combination of curiosity and boredom, and may eat you just to see if fear makes you taste different.

Old changling was the only game that people actually played better drunk I think. Yeah I heard Nchange had a bit more extreme changlings. I liked that old had at least one group that wasn't all angsty or homicidal however.

No, he just phoned me late at night after he knew WW was in Cali with the excuse that he had "several missed calls from me, wasn't sure if it was a pocket dial..." (I checked my phone history. ZERO pocket dials to his number.) I think he'd been drinking. He rambled about nothing for forty minutes. I listened while I scrubbed the kitchen floor and loaded the dishwasher. Then I told him I was tired.

WW picked up his van from His Lordship's house Thursday and is going back there Monday to pick up the last of our things, which are under a tarp on the deck, and then he drives back to Texas. So after Monday I don't have to worry about answering his calls, I can just let them go to voicemail.

(There's actually a jujitsu seminar this weekend that is the main reason WW is in the Bay.)

It's either a sign of Crookshanks' growing maturity or a sign of aging related senility but I almost offered her to take the car and go somewhere fun (I couldn't drive her someplace because Tiny T-Rex was playing at his best friend's house and could come home at any time) when she looked super bored yesterday.

Since I try to be positive, I'm going to chalk it up to her maturity and maybe try out some memory games and drink another cup of coffee.

My experience with New Yorkers, Chicagoans, and pizza:

Step 1: Give them some pizza that you consider "the best in your area". They will disdain it, denounce it, and spend more time complaining about it than they do eating it.

Step 2: Tell them you found a little hole-in-the-wall run by a former New York/Chicago pizza guy who does his best to make "authentic" New York/Chicago pizza, but he has trouble because he can't get all the "right" ingredients here.

Step 3: Serve the New Yorker/Chicagoan the exact same pizza as you did in Step 1.

Step 4: The New Yorker/Chicagoan will grudgingly admit that the pizza's pretty good, but not as good as you can get in New York/Chicago, but it's WAAAAAY better than the crap you gave them in Step 1.
