It was probably just me. Everything works fine right now.

A question for my fellow Hearthstoners:

Do you have a philosophy about using hero powers? Like, how frequently do you use it in a match? Obviously it's gonna vary by deck, but do you have a personal guideline?

Asking bc Baku and Genn have got me thinking about hero powers.

Most of the time, but again Baku paladins are built so the only thing you really need are your hero power, and level up =)

Yeah it seems to me like unless you're getting extra synergy from your hero power, like with Baku Paladin, Baku and Genn aren't really worth it. I mean by the numbers they should be worth it, but my Baku decks just seem to be meh.

Admittedly I haven't crafted Genn yet.

And admittedly, maybe I'm just profoundly mediocre at deckbuilding.

Today was my first day of work at the Texas school!
Everyone was very friendly and enthusiastic at me. They wanted to make sure I felt welcomed, by gosh.
For an introvert, it was pretty exhausting.
Also, I'm going to get drafted onto the Library Committee, which is not entirely a bad thing.

House update:
The new gas line got installed today, the inspection is scheduled for tomorrow, and if all goes well, I should be able to cook dinner tomorrow night!
Hermione and I planted the window box in front of the living room window with vinca and zinnias, and set Leon, our garden gnome, on top of the mulch.

BUT, when the plumber looked at the water heater to find out what was going on with it, he said it may have to be replaced entirely, so we may not be able to have showers until at least Wednesday.

We seem to have a fix for the missing drivers license dilemma!
After losing my wallet on the way between California and Texas, I now cannot get a Texas DL because I can't prove my identity, and I cannot get the Cali DL replaced without going back to California. My passport expired last year, so it's not an acceptable form of identification according to Texas rules.

BUT, if I send in my expired passport by mail and pay $30 for the renewal fee to just get the passport card, that will count as valid proof of citizenship AND identification, and I can get my Texas DL. Hopefully. So I'm going to get a passport photo taken before work tomorrow and getting the application in the mail.

We have a "mandatory" meeting at 2:00 this afternoon. Apparently they chose this time because "It works great for everyone!". Except for me, of course. But I don't count.

Also, I call it "mandatory" because it seems like every time we have a meeting and they say "No one is excused. Show up or be fired!" at least one of the desk clerks doesn't show and nothing happens to them. Of course, if I miss it they'll probably fire my ass because that's just my luck.

Same except they always want to have theirs at 12 and say its mandatory and then talk about nothing related to me what so ever and even if they did talk about something involving me I wouldn't get anything out of it anyways because i'm a zombie and anyone on the road should sue the hotel because they are forcing me to drive in this state.

The first manager I had hear would give me a free room to stay in if we had a meeting. The 2 we have had since both said "Free? No. But you can use your employee discount to get one." I'm not paying to come to a meeting. Especially since I'm pretty sure I know what they're going to talk about and it really doesn't matter.

Yeah my manager would probably at least give me a free room but I only live 10 minutes away anyways and I'd just as soon go home and come back. I ditched one of the meeting mostly because I was having car trouble they tried to guilt me about it but I wasn't the only one then I hit that manager with the logic of making us all sit around and listen to the different mistakes each one of us is making or just get with each individual person and tell them instead of wasting everyone time and that killed the meeting for a long time till that manager left.

I've yet to have a manager tell us our mistakes in a meeting. Usually it's more of a "My boss says we need to have a certain number of meetings per year, so this is one of them. Also, here's a couple of things we all could do better on." This meeting I'm sure is going to be about the changes to the loyalty program that are about to go into effect. Not that the changes are that significant, but we are supposed to know about them and I guess the online training they've made us do isn't enough.

I hate the online training so much. It is so poorly done. The last one ended up being nothing like the actual. We still ended up having to learn it ourselves.

Sorry to hear you lost your wallet. Getting things in the states can be a tad troublesome as compared to Singapore. In Singapore? One week. My brother waited for his permanent car plate for 2 months before he finally got it yesterday.

That's what he misses most about Singapore. Not the food, but the efficiency the government services work.

My wife's 14ish year old cat just passed away today. RIP Ozzy. You will be missed.

lisamarlene - losing a wallet always, always sucks. I'm sorry you're going through the replacement process. My license expired without the option to renew coming in the mail (I knew it expired on my birthday, the only question was which one - turns out it was this one!) and I had to be informed by the car rental place (they're loaning me a car while Ford fixes the airbag problem in mine - or at least while Ford thinks about doing so, but, as it's been two years, they don't seem to be in a hurry). So I was able to get a temporary license until I could fix everything, but fixing everything was a hassle.

LM - Between hot water heater and wallet...those are not "minor inconveniences", especially with starting the new job. Tell you what though, I know a guy. He can get you a replacement ID on the cheap, seeing your circumstances. You just have to provide him a picture, and he'll get his laminator out...err...wait...I've said too much.

Tac - That's not Ford's fault, honestly (and yes, I'm defending an automotive giant that just recalled 1.4 million F-series pickups for seat belt fires). That airbag fiasco is because of one supplier, Takata, that made faulty airbag inflators and over half the world's auto industry was using them. The only car manufacturer that would be partially to blame on that one is Honda. But ultimately, because this is the largest automobile recall in the history of recalls, and second place is not remotely close, Takata has not been able to supply the replacement airbags fast enough, and they've been less than accurate in telling the automakers when they'll have their parts.

On a completely coincidental note, those 1.4 million trucks Ford just recalled? Faulty seat belt pretensioners are setting the seat belts on fire in crashes. There are two suppliers involved, and one of them is Takata. Again. Which means 1.4 million is just the start of this one, since you know it's not going to be just Ford using that same part from those same two suppliers.
