Two bro cats are run into each other in an alley dumpster.
BroCat 1: "Hey bro, I heard you went out with Kitty last night."
Brocat 2: "Yeah, bro. Sure did."
BroCat 1: "So, how did it go?"
BroCat 2: "Not good, bro. I struck out."
BroCat 1: "Ahh, that sucks bro. What happened?"
BroCat 2: "I offered her a tuna, thinking that would help get her in the mood."
BroCat 1: "Yeah?"
BroCat 2: "She said 'Not tonight. I've got a haddock.'"

As I think I posted on FaWtL before, can anyone name a job where you can't ask your manager, "I'm sorry, but what was it you wanted me doing right now again?"
Once? Most managers are fine. 100 times? Yeah, I see that as being an issue. But just, "When you assign homework, include me on the list" doesn't seem like a hardship on the teachers.
OMG, yes! Thank goodness for Google Classroom and Power School or I swear that child would be flunking out of high school instead of getting mostly A's. I have to check every freaking night or his grades take a nosedive because of all the crap that doesn't get turned in! That's one thing our school does right and the principal at the high school is really passionate about making sure that stuff is updated frequently.
Edit: But they did not do that at the middle school and that was a whole other kettle of fish with very uncooperative teachers, so I definitely understand that pain.
your dad threw out your homework? That's awful!!

Yuuuuuuuuup
Very low ranking, however.
This was the only movie my friends could agree on on weekend movie days.
Princess bride just about every weekend for roughly 2 years.
There was a time I could quote the movie verbatim.

Can most fans of it not do that anyway? I guess it would be annoying if you don't like it though

MLA format requires the instructor's last name in the name block at the top of the first page. One of these days, I'm going to start statistically tracking the variety of creative misspellings of my name...which is at the top of Google Classroom, on their schedules, on my door, in my work email, and for which I've given them a foolproof mnemonic to spell it properly...

I still have not watched it but do not watch movies much.
I'm just going to mention that, while over-hype can be a thing, and it can cause a lack of enjoyment for many, The Princess Bride is a film that really should be seen by most; I say this even while things like Monty Python and the Holy Grail are not - while the latter is a solid film, it is surreal enough that it is likely to rub up weirdly against the sensibilities of many (though, if you're a gamer - and I generally presume you are, if you're reading this, seeing 'Holy Grail probably becomes semi-mandatory for dealing with your fellows' weird and continuous use of catch-phrases).
There was one guy I knew - younger than me by about a five-to-six years - who absolutely refused to watch The Princess Bride because, and I quote, "It's obviously a girly film, and I'm way too manly for that sort of thing."
While he was half-joking (he was not really the excessively macho type), he had genuinely never seen it, and did, in fact, refuse to watch it, when given the opportunity. I think he really did think that it was probably "girly" in some way (it is not, though neither is it antithetical to those sensibilities), and otherwise not his interests (which only he can assess). I will suggest that while it's fine if it's not your interests, it is still one of those films you should probably see, as you'll be so heavily exposed to it throughout your life, if for no other reason - and it's nice to have a vague idea of what everyone is talking about.
... of course, I'm one to talk, as I've never seen Love Story and have exactly zero interest in doing so.

As Talesin said, most people I know can.
It's one of the few movies I would not mind at all seeing that often, myself.
I think if further proof was needed this would be the final nail in the coffin of "we cone from completely different realities".

Marketing is a hell of a drug. Any movie that doesn't fit neatly into a set genre is going to struggle to find an audience. Stardust and Sweeney Todd also had that problem. though Sweeney also suffered from a bad case of Tim Burton imo

Ah yes, having a teenage daughter is like a lesson in dramatics every day.
Today's lesson, realizing her "winter coat" she insisted that was a winter coat and would totally keep her warm all winter is in fact just an ordinary leather jacket without any special warming powers.
Also, forgetting her poorly assembled lunch so she can get to school early to hang out.

Well, that sounds familiar. And this is why the kidlet has a giant binder full of papers...and a mom who checks around where he was doing his homework to make sure that he put all of the papers back in it. I know this pain. I was also bad at organization at his age. Not as bad at organization as my parents, but that level of chaos takes time to develop. (The number of times my dad threw away my homework before I could turn it in was staggering. As if I needed the help losing my homework!)
I am badly organized. I have night-terrors at times about doing this. So far, at least, I have never done this (to my knowledge - aaarrrrgggh!).
And my homework? Oh it's somewhere in that pile of...clutter...someplace...
This is more my speed.
DAGGUMMIT MICROSOFT I SAID NOT TO DO THAT
... and so, while I was putting my youngest to sleep, my computer goes on an hour+ long automated shutdown and update while my phone is on ~4% battery. Dang it.
>:(
That is why I switched to Linux. I had that happen before going to classes. Scary as hell and windows tends to start up shout down because of large binaries and lots of disk io which was bad on my old hard drive.
I don't have the luxury of switching because, frankly, I lack the technical knowledge and, even if I did not, the rest of my family would. There is no way I'm dragging the three (well, four, but my Youngest doesn't count - he's too small) through that learning curve - even if it is simple (as it still counts as a substantial learning curve, for which I lack the time). There are simply too many things that I've learned how to do on Windows that I'd have to relearn for other things - ranging from games I play, to how I interface with the internet.
I firmly believe that Linux is superior, as pretty much the majority of my friends who are even remotely attached to computer sciences agree that it is - with the (possible) exception of the "big-corporation"-style professionals who deal with programs related to Windows-specific implementation all the live-long day, who generally have as little exposure to/familiarity with Linux as I do, as a result (though NH could share his particular thoughts, too).
But my point is that this is the problem with Microsoft's whole mega-presence. It irritates the heck out of me, and I want to quit it, but I really can't. It's the "sunk cost" fallacy at it's finest, because I've got a life, now, and unfortunately, Microsoft has managed to worm its way into it, complete with their aggressive updating policies, which I hate. I'd proooooobably drop MS like a hot potato if other things were as user-friendly and inexpensive, but I've also a huge host of word documents, pdfs, computer organization, and games - and I'd kind of like those to work*, and not have to relearn how to access all of them. Alas.
* Though, admittedly, this is getting less likely with the newer Windows. So.

Why am I pedantic about these things, I don't know, as it doesn't really matter, but...
I'll suggest that most can't, though we can endlessly use snippets of the film at each other. Surprisingly-short-over-explanation-engage: it's a form of emotional short-hand, in which we briefly relive the emotional moments from the film, while mutually enjoying it together.

Just an extra r, is that all.
"Frreehold DM"? Dooesn't seeem sso baad.
This is actually a joke, as was the use of "rs" when Freehold clearly meant a single extra "r" - especially since I actually replaced the "ee" part of his online name (instead of his real one) with said "rs" to make said joke.
I can't tell all the different ways people butcher my name.
We don't have to - it's Welsh, it does so for us~! Ah-HAH~!
This is a joke. I'm just bad at Welsh names.
