Best wizard character I have ever seen played had few if any offensive spells. He used utility spells to keep his citified mage comfortable in this "damndable outdoors"
Most of the other players loved having him around for while he was not very good for combat, he provided chilled drinks and a safe place to camp every night.
Plus spells such as open, and true strike helped a lot.

Suggestions:
Dispel Magic: Cancels one magical spell or effect.
Phantom Steed: Magic horse appears for 1 hour/level.
Deep Slumber: Puts 10 HD of creatures to sleep.
Blink: You randomly vanish and reappear for 1 round per level.
Yeah, they tease an early out and the pace is real real slow.

I like dispel magic, but her higher level sorc in FR is arcane blood line so she gets it for that. The games I run tend to be very combat intensive, and sometimes we have 7 PCs so haste is the bomb. If we have a combat where she doesn't open up with haste all the veteran players are like "WTF!?". In the Kingmaker game it's more challenging because there are only 4 PCs, and the GM only allows core. If he considers UM core I'm sure I'll be getting the PDF for Diane. She is very frustrated by the lack of sonic and electric spells for her storm born sorceress.

Well, it was a good weekend. Comicpalooza was AWESOME! Got to meet Hyrum Savage and Stephen Radney-Macfarland, both of whom are totally cool. ** spoiler omitted ** Also getting to playtest Hyrum's upcoming PFS scenario was... yup, Awesome! (And getting to introduce more people to Roagh's own... unique type of foot fetish is always fun! I'm sad that he only has a handful of scenarios he can run before he must retire.)
I was probably the most sleep deprived I had been in years. I was up late Thursday riding the new HD home from Austin, then up late for Con games Fri/Sat. Sunday everyone was so beat that it took us 11 hours to run two slots! :-D
I also got to meet Steve Jackson of Steve Jackson Games and Chris Perkins from WotC. My personal Most Awesome Moment™ of the Con was actually winning Mind-crushingly Huge Chibithulhu in SJG's random drawing on Sunday afternoon! I mean, how freaking cool is that?
Also got to see some old friends and make new ones among the local independent horror movie circles.
All in all, :-D
Wow! Will it give you a free entry into the Cthulhu game at Paizocon? Wish we could have made it this year. Maybe next.

I'm building some demon orcs (Tanarukk in FR). Does CR4 sound right for Barb2 orcs with fiendish, advanced, and SR 12? Technically they are CR 3, but I up'ed their stats and SR a bit. I'm shooting for CR4, but I think an other level of barb is over doing it, but they seem a hair light. I'm not sure.
Thanks.

Cool, I'll take help where I can get it. I struggled a bit with the 3.5 to beta to Pathfinder conversion on this, and I almost TPK'ed the party with an encounter that should have been hard but not crazy.

I think CR 3 is safe. I'd leave the SR alone, so the wizard can do something.
But, a barbarian with 18 constipation is going to have.....21 h.p., then what, 25 h.p when raging? Wupty doo! That's two or three solid hits with a greataxe.Gargoyle's CR 4, and it has 42 h.p. and is dr 10/magic. I think CR 3 is safe for these Tanarukk.
But I HATE SR. I think it's a design copout, a catchall that feels like whoever made it up didn't want to think about stuff. Just....."sr! I'll give stuff sr, so the wizard can't kill everything! Woohoo!" I think SR is goofy.
AND I make custom stuff up all the time, so I'm kinda used to it.
My thing is: when in doubt, go lower on the CR than you want to. I don't think these tanarukk compare with anything CR 4.
