captain yesterday wrote:I've never seen Grape Pie, it sounds intriguing.what in the world is that?
The filling is made of grapes. It's best if you can get the seedless black grapes. You can use red if you have to, but it isn't as good. And don't use green. Just don't. Yech. It....isn't good. Anyhoo, you cook the grapes with some sugar and cinnamon and orange zest and a little bit of cornstarch until they burst open and the whole thing is basically an ooey gooey mess, and then you pour that into the pie crust, put the top crust over it and bake. It is soooo good.

Today was a weird day. My joints hurt. Like all of them. Not a little either. Like my whole body is made of pain. This is unusual even for me. I hope that it stops soon and never happens again. :/
But I still made my word count, so that's something. Novel is still sort of on track. I mean, the plot is starting to meander all over the place, but that's normal, I think. :)

I actually sympathize with this. My hands and arms have ached all day, and my neck and back are pretty sore as well.
When your job involves 8-10 hours of typing, aching hands are a recipe for misery.

It gets better. Apparently, the university wouldn't give the lawyer any information, and the lawyer didn't even mention the possibility of legal action. Just asked a few background questions they wouldn't answer. Judging by how fast they emailed me promising a new room, it seems they went directly from there into full blown ass covering mode. Which works. I can't actually afford to pay a lawyer to come up here. Or file a lawsuit. I don't even think I have grounds to sue. It is kinda funny that he didn't even have to threaten to sue them or anything to get them cooperating, though.

Man, that was weird. Back in 2010, when Red Letter Media reviewed 2009's Star Trek remake, "Mr. Plinkett" (Mike Stoklasa) suggested that J.J. Abrams would be a good choice to direct a Star Wars movie. To quote the review:
"J.J. Abrams should have directed the Star Wars prequels, and George Lucas should have directed people to their seats in the theater."

{quickdraws blaster pistol} Quick, do you have at least one unhappy memory of each child? Do you have anyone named Mrs. Refrigerator, Pencilvester, Reverse Giraffe, Ghost in a Jar, Sleepy Gary, Mr. Beauregard, Frankenstein, Photography Raptor, Tinkles, Hamurai, or Amish Cyborg living in your house with you?!

Otherwise I'm with the cheesecake faction.
Despite the name, cheesecake is not a cake. It is a pie. This is because it is a crust with filling. Were it a cake, it would have no crust.

Gamersgate.com appears to be down. And people wonder WHY I prefer to have a hardcopy of my games and books.

Oh yes if you have access to a lawyer then the world parts before you in amazing ways. Such is everyone's fear of being sued.

Pea Bear's best friend is having a birthday party tonight, Pea Bear got the invitation 3 weeks ago, we first saw and heard about it last night at 5 p.m. The General was not happy.
Pea Bear: So, can I go?
General Yesteryear: I don't know honestly, it's a lot of work, first we have to go out get a present, someone has to drive you over and pick you up, an R.S.V.P. need a to be sent, you're inconveniencing the whole family.
Pea Bear: Not the whole family, just Dad.
General Yesteryear: good point, ask your father.
Captain Yesterday: Wait, what?
Guess what I'm doing tonight. :-)

Also, am I the only one who thinks cheesecake is an abomination?
Cheesecake is weird, it can taste different from pie to pie, it's also everyone's favorite to make but the hardest to actually make well, and don't get me started on the crap Cheesecake Factory unloads on the masses.
So no, you're not alone, although I wouldn't call it an abomination, it's traditionally not done well.

great.
Now I want to drug you and have you wake up next to me in a tricked out challenger, where we will be in the process of driving cross country sampling cheesecakes until we find the one that's right for you.

I do best with cheesecakes with so much flavoring/topping that you don't notice the cheesecake.
Abomination may be a strong word, but if a dessert menu offers cheesecake and anything else, I will order the anything else.

That reminded me of one The Jetsons episode...
Judy: Mom, can I go for a trip to beach (or somewhere, I don't remember)
Mom: You can if the father says yes.
Judy: Dad, are you sleeping?
Napping Dad: Yes.
Judy: Mom! Dad said "yes"!

So, FaWtL, new topic of conversation: how many mind flayers (that is, illithids), roughly speaking, are in the Forgotten Realms? Canonically, that is.
>.>
No reason.^
*cough*
I have my own number that I've come up with through extremely rigorous research^^, but I'm not sharing that because I want to know if anyone can find better information, come up with a more reasonable number themselves, or can point to where this is better-covered.
If someone has the time/wants to make an actual topic out of this elsewhere on the forums... I wouldn't object...
^ Okay, okay this isn't true. Here's The Reason.
^^ I glanced at the population line of the three detailed communities in Underdark, made an exceedingly rough guess based off of two different lines of information about them, and used a calculator to multiply the guessed number of communities by the guesstimated "average" within them, plus the three communities listed. Super. Rigorous.^^^
^^^ For a very exacting and unusual use of the word "Rigorous"
