I found out that one of my ex's friends who I used to see all the time died of an overdose of prescription painkillers. I hadn't seen him in probably 8 years, but it's still jarring. He was a nice guy, and younger than me.

No last weekend, silly! This weekend is going to be Fawesome if Shiny is around.

Also, like you, it looks like I may be excused from coming into the city on Friday on account of the papal visit.

God, I miss watching Buffy without knowing what's coming ahead.

Even if I consider seasons 6 and 7 noncanon.

Also very sad

that I finished

season 8 of Doctor Who so quickly.

And death

Contact your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms.

Man, you guys have been slacking, Scint's puns are a lot worse and a lot more numerous and either no one ever nabs her or she escapes all the time.

Is it normal for people to be on their phones all the time checking their messages when you're trying to spend time with them, or am I just really boring?

This is what happens when all of your friends are 10+ years older than you. I don't know how anything works, and I can't figure out how to interact with people my own age.

My mom has started doing that. She's 62. I called her out and told her she's worse than a teenager.

I had a dream about our very own Treppa last night. I was rehearsing some sort of choral work (I think it was meant to be by Bruckner) and Treppa was playing the piccolo in the orchestra. There was a passage with two piccolos playing a really staccato line, but the other player was on the other side of the orchestra, and they couldn't get the sound together. Treppa was getting really frustrated and I was trying to tell her it would be okay, but was also trying to convince the conductor to move the other piccolo player closer.

My dad does this while he's driving. He's 55.

Not sure which is scarier-- that, or if it's a lady friend, and you're on a date.

You know what they call a piccolo duet?

Spoiler:

Two piccolos too many.
