Derek thanks everyone for their support and tells me it's a bit rougher than it was last time he was there. The judge he has is not as tolerant as we would wish and he might be looking at 18 months, worst case scenario.

For the facebook Luddites out there, this is all I have.

Boy, I’m out of the loop, I know he hasn’t been around for a while but I didn’t realise he was in trouble.

Yeah not sure what put him back inside. I am writing him a letter now and hope everyone who can would do so as well. Its rough enough being inside but I am sure he could use moral support from all. I believe we posted his mailing address a few posts back but worse comes to worse either I or Mairkurion could be forced into finding it again if anyone wants it.

Over the weekend she became ill (we thought). She was acting distressed, and dry heaving. Unfortunately she cannot communicate what is wrong. We assumed perhaps a stomach bug. Last night her stomach began distending, which got worse by the morning. She was up all night. I went to work at 5am, by 9 am my wife called and was taking her to the hospital. I left work and went to hosp. We spent all day there, now my wife is there and I have to get some rest for work tomorrow. Drs still performing tests at this time. Could be many things, pancreas, gall stones, peritonidis, bowel blockage, etc.

Sorry to hear that dude. Hope she gets to feeling better soon.

Prayers for your family, monkey.

GAH!

All these accidents and hospital visits and annoying-traffic-violations-for-going-through-red-light-as-it-changed-inste ad-of-slamming-on-brakes-and-causing-an-accident's suck.

Let's skip the rest of the week. Pass Go and collect our paychecks and start a pleasant Easter weekend (complete with Doctor Who series premiere).

Earlier today I had gotten off early and I was heading to the library to drop off some books. Someone stopped in the middle of the road, so I hit the brakes. I stopped withing 3 feet of the other car. Unfortunately, the car behind me was going too fast and he hit me and I hit the other car. The car is drivable, but I can't unlock the trunk. I would have to go in through the inside.

Ugh! Sorry to hear that Sharoth!

Ditto me on the well wishing, hope thing straighten out!

Kidlet cracks me up. So back when he was starting kindergarten he loved music. Especially loud rock music. His favorite song was Enter Sandman if this gives you any idea of how his tastes ran. :)
And then his evil music teacher made it so he hated music. All music. He would whine and cry every time I played the radio in the car. Eventually he resigned himself to music as long as it wasn't too loud. After a year of audio books followed by a year of gritting my teeth and dealing with a 'soft rock' station, I had enough. So I started listening to my favorite alt-rock station instead. He whined at first, but eventually got used to it. A couple days ago in an attempt not to have to listen to Radiohead's House of Cards for the bazillionth time (seriously, this song both sucks and is a danger as it makes me very sleepy, not a good thing while driving) I switched it over to a punk rock station instead. Which he now thinks is teh awesome and complains if I play any other station. Apparently he's back to liking loud rock music. :)

Pat, hope Ally is doing well today and that she recovers quickly. Still sending prayers and well wishes her way.

Ahh, yeah, my friends complained about that when they had those finals, but not nearly as much as when they had P Chem finals.

I need to do that myself, picked up some halfling figures for my Kingmaker character. Cyrano's a Chevalier/Bard/Battle Herald and I've convinced my DM to let me take Leadership and apply it to my mount instead of getting a cohort when I hit 7 (Basically it will replace my mount skill altogether) for a young Brass Dragon (Reaper has a great fig for this). It's hard finding good figures for halflings, which seems wierd to me given how long they've been around in fantasy literature.

Does he happen to sport a huge schnozzola?

I had to actually look up snirt to make sure I understood the word in the correct context. Otherwise, my original response would have been ... well ... typical material.

Slightly larger then normal. He's very touchy about his height, and full of bravado.

He is, in essence, (to pull one of my favorite lines from the play) always fighting giants.

I'm actually a chemistry major. I switched from nursing after I discovered how much I really hate the medical stuff. Really, really hate. But I love chemistry and any chance to play with chemicals is a win. ;D

Playing with chemicals is always fun. Especially when said playing results in flames.

I enjoy science in theory and reading, but in application ... I'm terrible with it. I could have avoided most of that going toward an arts degree versus a science one, but over the long haul I know which one will do better for me on a fiscal level (hopefully). That said, when it's time to knock out the science requirements, I'm going to stick to the basics and then move on. :P

Spoiler:

Spoilering for obvious reasons, but not intending to go into political debate. Just genuinely curious.

Man, I feel for you. On a related note ... given that Romney passed health care reforms that is similar to what has happened on a national level, has that worked out for you on any level with regard to the care of your child? I only ask given the potential long term expenses and the problem one faces when losing health insurance and then trying to be reinstated but with the thorny issue of pre-existing conditions; etc. What's your take on it?
