Amusing quote of the evening: "They even have artesian pizza!"

{Context: Sitting at the bar at our favorite local beer place, and this young woman next to me is talking about a brew pub out in the suburbs. I very nearly spit beer in her face at the image of pizza welling up from the ground in an artesian well.}

What the hell was she trying to say?
I think the word she was looking for was artisanal.

Sounds kinky.

I'll leave it to either him or Treppa to expand on the details. All I'm going to imply that it's a serious wake up call given the mg/dl in the blood glucose levels.

Morning, all. What did I miss?

Well, Ned decided to travel south with his good friend Bob to take up a business proposition that might benefit both their families. Meanwhile, Ned's illegitimate son Jon decided to enter into his uncle's security business after a long discussion with his good friend Tyrone. And, on the other side of the pond, Vance succeeded in setting his sister Daniel up with one of the local toughs.....No, wait! Is that my soap opera?

Yeah, that sucks. All the changes needed to manage it can really be tough. :(

Spoiler:

Still doing tests...With any luck it might be mild enough to control with diet alone. Otherwise, I don't thinkthey would be doing those extra tests and later appointments without medication now. Even if medication is prescribed, it might still be possible to control diet and exercise closely enough to go off medication down the road a short ways.

Treatment has progressed far enough that those with it can lead a long and normal life, excepting diet. People may give a long list of scary "complications" but what needs to be done to avaoid those are actually pretty simple.

Best wishes to the both of you with this.

Morning to all.

My sister got the diagnosis 2 years ago. Changed her diet and exercise and was able to bring it back in line. No drugs at all anymore. Just check ups.

Good luck to the Puffin!

I ended up leaving math class early today. It was review for the final, I was hungry and getting kinda cranky, so I left and even though I packed a lunch went and bought a sandwich from Subway. It sounded better than the pbj I had packed. Tasted better too. :)

Try not to let that kind of stuff scare you. My cousin has lived with it since birth (so about 40+ years now) and takes good care of himself. You'll do fine. You're the Puffin Man!

Speaking of 'scaring away', I actually had to block a post on FB for the first time. Someone had the audacity to ... post a picture ... of the blue waffle ... on their FB wall. My g/f alerted me to it. She wasn't pleased either. I admit I can be tasteless, but at least I try to be tactful about it. ;)
