Plant sunflowers and corn. That way, if they want to vandalize, they will have to bring ladders to have their "art" seen.

Derek thanks everyone for their support and tells me it's a bit rougher than it was last time he was there. The judge he has is not as tolerant as we would wish and he might be looking at 18 months, worst case scenario.

Get all the necessary implements and spray paint and pain all over the church like it was already done up, but cover it with more purposed graffiti indicating your faith and your willingness to not be provoked but to make the most of a bad thing by turning it into an opportunity.

Of course, I kind of also like the idea of machine gun turrets. :P

Small rant of my own;

Nate's Rant:

Alright. I'm in the military. My office is doing well, we're winning awards, and it's good stuff. Our leadership was transplanted from another career field (Civil Engineering). Nothing against CE, but they're a bit more brutish than we are... our job is difficult and requires complex problem solving. In CE if you need something done, you yell at a bunch of the grunts and they get moving. In my field, we're finnicky and stressed out, it requires a gentle hand and soft guidance.

My boss' boss, in short, is a vile and cruel woman who doesn't understand Nathan's cardinal law of life.... DONT BE A DICK. The military is an organization that sees micro-management and the enforcement of "Standards" as being good leadership. After an hour of heated debate, I finally convinced my Sergeant to talk to me "man to man" and admit that I was right but the B.S. rules we live by don't allow for that.

Great flippin' day, I tell ya.

Ug! Dratted accident. Lucky for me, the car is drivable. My neck hurts, but it was hurting this weekend and the past week. I will be taking a day off to get it checked out anyway. ~chuckles~ My boss and coworkers will not be happy with that, but oh well.

Patrick, I hope your daughter gets better soon. Waiting sucks.

Hope everything goes well, Sharoth!

Was this before or after we spoke on the phone??

Earlier today I had gotten off early and I was heading to the library to drop off some books. Someone stopped in the middle of the road, so I hit the brakes. I stopped withing 3 feet of the other car. Unfortunately, the car behind me was going too fast and he hit me and I hit the other car. The car is drivable, but I can't unlock the trunk. I would have to go in through the inside.

Of course that just happens to be where the library books were located at right?

Nope. They were in the front seat.

I feel left out. I didn't get a kitty sticker in my AP package. Or a packing slip, for that matter. :P

I subscribed just for that.

I'll decide when it's done whether I want to stay on for the next one. I just knew I would want this AP.

I don't know. I wasn't there when they put the package together. ;)

(As long as I get the book, I'm happy, but it was a little odd.)

We don't put packing slips into most of the subscriber copies since it takes too long. Instead, we use the label itself to tell the warehouse what group of products to put in the package.

I never got a kitty sticker. Of course I got other things.

I got kitty sticker, and other things. Mostly because, as previously noted, I am super awesome. ;)

Yeah I do not have any kitty stickers coming my way since I have no books coming my way right now.

Thanks for well wishes folks. Home now, wife back at hospital. Still no definitive word on what's wrong with Ally. Those of you of a theistic bent send a prayer to whatever higher power you wish if you would.

Over the weekend she became ill (we thought). She was acting distressed, and dry heaving. Unfortunately she cannot communicate what is wrong. We assumed perhaps a stomach bug. Last night her stomach began distending, which got worse by the morning. She was up all night. I went to work at 5am, by 9 am my wife called and was taking her to the hospital. I left work and went to hosp. We spent all day there, now my wife is there and I have to get some rest for work tomorrow. Drs still performing tests at this time. Could be many things, pancreas, gall stones, peritonidis, bowel blockage, etc.

Liberty's Edge

Thinking of you and your family Pat, I hope it turns out alright.
