GOLF CLAP for Lachlan Rocksoul, he even alphabetized it all too. So let me say thank you and well done.
You're welcome. Paizo sure didnt make it easy to get all this info together quickly. lol But, thank god for Execel. :P Hopefully they'll sticky this so everyone will see it when they come here.

Well, it was slowly working it's way down the list. You are right. I could have just came in here and posted "My. What a pretty list I made." to move it to the top. But, I didn't want to seem egotistical. :)

![]() |

Great List.
Now we just need to add the rejects, voluntary rejects and almost also ran entries ;)
Well, I was wanting to put together a Winner's List. Those are the ones you want to study and get an idea of what succeeds and doesn't. You really don't want to study something that was rejected. :P

I am with Azmahel on this one Lachlan. You are more likely to learn from a mistake then a success. So definitely want to have both so you can compare.
Well, then someone else can put together the "Loser List" PDF. lol 299 items is enough for me to work on. :P Especially doing it in between work and life. :)

Well, in reality, all of the wondrous items should be paid attention to - those are the ones that were selected by the judges.
For each of the later rounds, it's different - either an item advanced or it didn't, and that was all based on popular vote. And as I recall, the "current votes" thread was (usually) pretty accurate in predicting the winners for each round. Not perfect, but certainly a good indicator.

Well, the other problem is locating ALL those items. Again, it's not like it's organized in a nice simple location. I just went to the threads for the previous years contests and grabbed what they had. If Paizo or someone involved in the contests were able to provide me all the info in a file of some sort then I would be happy to do EVERYTHING from each year. Otherwise, what do you expect for free labor? rofl :P

nice job Lachlan.
Since you have it in excell, could you add a column for placing? I think it would be helpful to see who was top 4, top 8 etc, and track their progress through the course. :)
yeah there you are given me an inch and here I go asking for miles. :)
Well, you can kind of tell where they placed by the item (Round 4 from 2009 was "Golarion Location with Map"). But I can easily add a "Round" column so the name reads: (Christine Schneider , 2008, Top 4)

You deserve another (BUMP)! This is great, at no small cost of time I'd imagine. I didn't realize there was art for last year, I'll have to bust out my sketchpad and see what happens. Too bad there's no monster round this year, I love drawing me some cool new monsters. Villains will do, though my villain sketches sometimes end up being a little PG, I'll have to be mindful of that!

This is not a bump. Had it been a bump, it would have just said "bump". So, it's not a bump. :)
Thanks for the kind words. I'm about halfway through this humongous PDF of all the winners. Not exactly sure how I'm going to get it online unless I break it into parts. :P
You could always put the critters in a one page "Monstrous Compendium" style format with the critter art (if any) in the corner.
Too big for google docs to hold?

Though I suspect an endeavor of that sort might run awry with the fact Paizo owns the submissions now...
Vic Wertz has confirmed as much in this very thread. Just scroll up to see him agreeing that, yes, you do need Paizo's permission to publicly post or distribute a compilation that reprints the previous years' entries.

Well, I would never post it anywhere other than here without Paizo's permission. More than likely, when I get it done, I'll just email Paizo and ask if they want it and how I can get it to them. I spent the holidays away from it, so hopefully I can get this wrapped up within the next week or so and get it to Paizo.

Lachlan
Great list - only spotted it now. So much about being up to date what is being posted here.
And just reading through the titles gave me an idea for the second round. It is sometimes interesting how the mind works.
Reading a well worded entry lets the mind wonder into completely different directions. Off course the question remaining is - will my item prevail.
It would be great if you can update the list/bump it before Dezember 2011 for the next year. Reading through winning items is something I would recommend every participant.
