All I know is MCU Stormbreaker isn't Comic book Stormbreaker and Comic book Thor doesn't have Mjolnir. He just has like dozens of semi-useful and some useless hammers.
Yeah, not really fond of the current hammer situation in the comics either.
It's kind of amusing, but I really hope it doesn't go on too long.
Also a bit weird since he's breaking hammers left and right in his title, but has just had one over in Avengers.

Lets face it guys people don't want their comic book character to permanently change. It might make for a fun story for bruce to die and one of the robins take over for awhile but eventually the fans will want to have Bruce back. You can't blame a company for catering to their audience. They don't want to lose their homes or starve igther.
Give the fans what they want.

Hmm. Earlier depicts on Snarl included purple but not yellow. I wonder if Rich came up with this since those earlier strips.

You do actually get an ugly shade of purple if you input 150 Red, 50 Green, and 100 Blue into a colour mixer (the skew is due to yellow being additive half red and half green)
Edit: though 150/150/100 is beige. nevermind then. and sampling from the strip and averaging them is... still beige (178/174/146 if you're interested)

That also explains why the gods keep creating worlds after worlds. Without the mortals, the gods would die.
Well, apparently they are the weakest things in the entire multiverse. Anything the existed before them, or created by more than one group of them is exponentially more powerful than they are. Because color metaphors. Even though they can infinitely create their own fuel source. >.>
It also raises questions about the elven gods, who don't count as part of the three pantheons (though they vote with the Western gods for reasons). But they had to have the Snarl explained to them, so they weren't there back in the beginning.
Wouldn't they have a different color, same as the Dark One?

This whole color thing reminds me of finding out the Green Lanterns had more than just green in it's Emotional Spectrum...
Great job on channeling that, Rich. :)
I still want Orange!!
Which is Orange's whole shtick
"Lex Luthor of Earth, you want it all."
"Mine."
I could see Tarquin as Orange now ;-D

I feel like Thor did this big reveal to the characters that are the least interesting to do that big reveal to. If he had revealed that information to literally any other member of the party than Durkon then we would have gotten some really interesting dramatic reactions. So far Durkon seems to be mutely accepting it all - though he could be holding his reactions till the end.

The 4 pantheons already had their specific colors there so no oversight I think but an oddity : the gods and the Snarl used blue, red and purple but no green and no yellow.
Interesting also to see the colors of the alignments a few strips before :-)

Thomas Seitz wrote:I don't recall if there orange was an alignment color...However, I don't think that the deities' quiddity color coincides with any specific alignment color. Because I have hard time with the Northern Pantheon being summed up as LN.
And yet its blackest sheep Loki is CN rather than Evil
Also it makes some sense that the 12 animal gods, patrons of the Sapphire Guard, would be mostly LG, Marduk's clan LE, the Greek gods NG to CG and the Dark One NE to CE

I have a hard time believing that any of the Twelve Olympians deserve a G in their alignment. Prometheus was nice (and got hit hard for it), Hestia was nice (and stepped down), Hades was LN (and was done with Zeus's **** by the time the Twelve formed), but the ones in charge are basically all jerks.

I generally picture Greek, Egyptian, Norse & Aztec (well, the roman pantheon pops into my head before the Aztecs, but they are literal clones of the Greek pantheon so I don't count them)
Between comic books (and now superhero movies) using the Norse and Olympian gods a lot (mostly Thor, Hercules and Wonder Woman), and the days of the week using some Norse gods and the months of the year using some Roman gods, I feel like those two pantheons get the most saturation, while I'd love to see more use of the Egyptian, Aztec, Chinese, Japanese and African/Yoruba pantheons.

I'd definitely like to see more pantheons in various fantasy worlds. I'm personally hoping that when Paizo reveals more of the stuff inside Arcadia, we get a Worldwound type place, as that could work really well with Aztec-like mythology.

You'd think the risk of a two-color Snarl would be mitigated by the already-existing agreements between the three pantheons and their ability to, together, form a three-color prison, one far more real than this second hypothetical Snarl. They would have to agree to do so ahead of time, and they'd have to make sure that only deities from one quiddity interacted with the Dark One (otherwise, they run the risk of a second four-color Snarl), but it could be done.

So. The gods are totally aware of the plot and everything, they just fumbled the diplo check (or Thor'd it) when the Dark One ascended.
The actual plan is to get him on board with all the paperwork and essentially give him what he wants (equal standing with them), but they screwed up badly enough that he won't even talk to them.
I want an 'I'm out, because you're idiots' check for Durkon.
But then doing it anyway because the gods will tantrum and kill everyone if he doesn't.

Dark One has new color explicitly because he ascended on his own, and is the first and only one to do that, or so Thor claims. If Elven pantheon shares their color with western pantheon that strongly implies they were ascended with help of western pantheon's power.

Thor motivates his followers like he battles his enemies: with a hammer.
I thought that last panel was awesome. Durkon's god is showing complete faith in him. It's a perfect role reversal in that regard.
But plot wise, this is exactly where we all knew this was going once we found out about the god color thing. Durkon has to make peace with Redcloak. Probably behind Xykon's back.
But first Durkon has to be resurrected. Not sure if Thor can do that without a mortal casting the spell, which is where Hilgya comes in. But she'll have to be convinced to actually do it. Which is probably where Loki comes in.
And I am kind of wondering what the rest of the Order has been doing while Durkon is busy here.
