All of this would be avoided if the paladin could just use psionics, but nooooooooooo. So here he is, facing down fascism, without a decent wizard in the party (the guy who had been playing the wizard stormed out of the game because he couldn't build a decent gish without there being a class for it).

What about all the good that came out of WWII? What guarantee would killing Hitler prevent the horrors of WWII? Or the rise of another insane demagogue in Hitler's place who would commit other, possibly worse, atrocities?
That said, paladins are Lawful Extra-Stupid :) ... so of course one would wack Hitler.

How can you say that about Hitler? I love Hitler, and Hitler loves me! He's not so bad - Hitler just needs someone to believe in him! Can't you just give Hitler a chance?

Would a Paladin kill Adolf in his sleep? Yes but with the understanding that Adolf Hitler has already been manipulated by others to set this reality in motion. So does the Paladin also go kill the entire board of IBM in their sleep for the crime of manipulating Possibility with black hole weapons so that Adolf will not migrate to Australia and become a Dairy Farmer in Harndorf?
