Male Human Vanguard

Just make sure its all useful information the exact size of the rats I'm sure it will vary from person to person but at least its something to go on. Also ask how many rats there were to see if we are dealing with dozens, hundreds, or just a few. I'm not expecting much since they have just witnessed their child being taken by rats but who knows we might actually get lucky. And you still haven't said what you think of my wager Katallin. You in or are you afraid you can't keep up? He says as he puts his arms over Diabinthe's shoulders while she is in the chair kisses her neck as he whispers to her.

Perception 25 or Diabinthe::
Well looks like its about time you ready for this my love? He says as he kisses her neck again and gently bites it. Just remember I'll always be with you the whole time.

Well is everything set? Kristophe, Katallin, Ashasha, and Zariah will all go to talk with witness and the rest of us will get supplies sound good with everyone, or is there something we need to get. I'm think see if they can supply us with alchemist's fire so we can hit groups of these rats at once rather than one on one. Unless someone has a better idea.

I'm thinking try and get the rats to bunch up the blast the hell out of them with area attacks if we have any....otherwise hopefully the hourglass society is in good enough standing to net us free alchemist's fire unless Lem has some or something close to it.

Dark Archive

Guys, are you ready to proceed to the Castle?

Female Elf (Forlorn) Witch 1; 6/6 hp; AC: 12, (Touch 12, FF 10); F +1, R +2, W +3, Perc +3/+5 Init +2

Shol'a'Saul is ready to go to the Castle.

Male Human Vanguard

all ready here. Also any ideas on how to help out my ac quickly since I will see a lot of front line combat? Shield was supposed to help but not going to take conjuration for one spell.

Male Human Summoner 1

Ready when you are. I've had heat sickness the past couple days, sorry for not posting as much.

Male Human Vanguard

Sorry to hear that hope you feel better soon.

Male

I am ready to proceed

Male Human Fighter 1 35xp

Just scared of making you look foolish in front of your girl. Bets on my friend. The Great Katallin says in a friendly tone.

sorry I remember responding to that don't know what happened. Probably put it on the wrong board.

The Great Katallin is ready.

Male Human Vanguard

Foolish what for I'll be too gold richer than when I started. Kyth says laughing as he says it.

Sense motive DC 5::
You can easily tell he doesn't care who wins or about the gold he genuinely enjoys the fight and this is just one more way to make it interesting.

Female Human Oracle (Flame) 1

Ready to roll

Male Human Vanguard

Then again maybe I will look foolish for the simple fact that I keep spelling stuff wrong....supposed to be two gold pieces not too...

Dark Archive

An immense black-marble keep stands upon a four-sided sandstone pyramid built to a cyclopean scale. A set of stairs cut for humans rises up the center of the northeastern face of the pyramid leads to the high-roofed keep with its many towers. Parts of the castle seem to be destroyed by the fire, or perhaps lightning strikes and veritable host of stone masons - most of them dwarves - work on repairing the walls and towers. It seems that the fire has swallowed almost entire third floor of the castle, and attic obviously. A large number of heavily armed and armored dwarves are patrolling the ground floor of the castle. A grizzled human soldier in faded black brigandine armor seems to be at the head of one of those patrols and he stops you just when you were about to go up the colossal stairs.

"Halt! And who you may be?"

Male Human Vanguard

We are hear on orders from Vanya of the Hourglass society to see Aliria. Kyth says as he hears the guard. We also need to talk to Sergeant Milunka.

Female Elf (Forlorn) Witch 1; 6/6 hp; AC: 12, (Touch 12, FF 10); F +1, R +2, W +3, Perc +3/+5 Init +2

Shol'a'Saul focuses her gaze on the guard, and simply points to the hourglass pin that is affixed to fer cloak.

Male 1/2 elf Rogue 1

"Hourglass society". "What's that". "All I know is I was told that Sgt Milunka could help me out with a little problem I'm experiencing". "Just trying to call in a favor".

Just trying to downplay the whole hourglass society thing. We don't know anything about this societies place in Korvosa yet, if it even has one yet, being new and all. And still don't know if we should keep it a secret or not.

Male Human Vanguard

I thought about that but decided that if it was extremely secret they could have told us, also I tried for the at the very least they might send a message to those people and get us through even if the guards don't know what that is the sergeant and the assistant do so they should in theory let us see them.

Female Goddess blessed human Oracle 1 ((hp 9/12; AC 13, t 13, ff 10; Fort +2, Ref +3. Will +1; Init +3; Perception -1 (beyond 30ft autofail)

As Kythvanath speaks Zariah quietly moves a bit close, making sure that the guardsman can see her she smiles at him warmly, her eyes trailing his battle worn form in exaggerated appreciation.

Her grin widens.

Diplomacy1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Female Human Oracle (Flame) 1

Asasha stand towards the back of the group, doing her best to look inconspicuous. As Zariah moves forward she unsuccussfully tries to suppress a giggle.

Male Human Vanguard

Kyth begins to wonder why the guard is staring past him. Also no! They are going to do a new revision of heirloom weapon. :( hopefully I can still use my sword.

Male Human Fighter 1 35xp

The Great Miguel walks up with the group, his Desnian holy symbol displayed proudly upon his chest, and his star-knife, the holy weapon of Desna showing on his side.

Trying to look as much the Priest of Desna as I can without actually having to announce it, as my social skills are a bit lacking.

Dark Archive

"You lot want to see Milunka? What about? And I don't care about your jewelry", he grumbles.

"I believe I told you I wanted to see her about a problem". "Are you her secretary...if so could you mention that she has visitors".

Male

Galrian has stayed most of the time silent, watching younger people taking care of speaking, but soon realises the mistake in speech. Praying for his Goddess to help him with his next action Casting Guidance

Quickly stepping and interrupting the speech, while trying to direct speech of from Hourglass

Diplomacy1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 9 + 1 = 26

Oh, I am sorry to interrupt, but I believe my friend here was speaking something about how time is running and each second is important. We were send here to help with recent problems... We would need to talk to Sergeant Milunka. Perhaps you could direct us to him? while giving him assuring smile

Male Human Vanguard

well I have no idea what I'm talking about anymore galirion kills us all in diplomacy.

"He is in fact her, old man. But I agree - sometimes you can not see the difference. Heh. I'll send someone to fetch her. You lot wait here..."

Male Human Vanguard

When the guard leaves Kyth turns to everyone with him.

Sorry I'm a bit reckless I think I'll let the rest of you talk from now on and sit back and watch and learn for the moment I'm not cut out for politics I'm far to simple and straight forward .

Sense motive DC10::
You can tell he is serious in his apology and will do everything he can to make no more mistakes.

If the guard doesn't leave Kyth will say that when everyone is alone.

Dark Archive

The old man leaves you and goes to find that Milunka person. Armed dwarf guards keep an eye on you, but they seem not to perceive you as a threat, so you are pretty much left to your own devices until the old sergeant returns.

Dark Archive

About half an hour later, young woman in black outfit with a short sword on her hip arrives. "So, I've been told that you want to see me. Are you the new recruits?"

Female Human Oracle (Flame) 1

After glancing at the others Asasha steps forward. "I guess that'd be us. We were told to speak to someone called Milunka, i suppose that's you?" she says, idly playing with her hourglass pin. "Anyway, we've been waiting for almost an hour! But I always say that the glass is half full,.. Its given us time to relax after all." she finishes with a cocky grin.

Male

Ah, such a young and brave woman as a Sergeant. You must be truly gifted. Indeed, we are the new ones, who were send here to help with recent problems. I would like to know, what kind of trouble there has been recently and how could we offer our help best?

Male 1/2 elf Rogue 1

"Actually, I'm no new recruit of the city guard, if that is what you mean, but we have a mutual friend whom said you might be able to help us". "Kagain says to give you his regards, and asks if you might help us with a situation".

It seems that there is a rodent problem in the city, and we have been tasked with the job of exterminators". "We should like to speak with those whom might have had encounters with these beast, so that we can mine them for information about the challenge that awaits us". "Can you assist us...please?"

Dark Archive

Milunka listens to you nodding all the while. "Yes, we do have pretty serious rodent problem, and not enough man power or resources to handle it like it should be handled. You came at just the right hour, almost like you watched through some kind of glass." She smiles. "Now, this IS a military operation and if I decide to work with you, I need to know who is in command..."

Male Human Fighter 1 35xp

Well mi'lady, we are all here a respectful bunch and look up to Galrian with his years of experience and wisdom. If one of us was said to be in charge I would have to say it were him.

Male Human Vanguard

I agree he is the one you should speak to.

Female Elf (Forlorn) Witch 1; 6/6 hp; AC: 12, (Touch 12, FF 10); F +1, R +2, W +3, Perc +3/+5 Init +2

Shol'a'Saul nods at Milunka, and adds in a quiet voice, "I consider him a leader, and would follow his advice."

Male 1/2 elf Rogue 1

"I am bad enough at following someones lead, and even worse at leading" "Galrian seems to have his head about him and it's obvious he is experienced

Male

Galrian begins to blink his eyes from surprise upon hearing comments of others. Not sure what to answer, he carefully speaks while trying to think, which way this situation had gone now

Indeed... I am older than most of the people here as it seems and most experienced, but I never though about having a leader seat. I have always followed my own way... rather than following others or leading. I suppose this will be a test, both from my partners and from my Goddess. I shall accept this and do my best Galrian finishes and bows to everyone.

First, I would then like to know how are you able to help us and what kind of information is available? Any particular area, where the problems are bigger or appearing more usually than other? What kind of attacks are they: organized? raiding? Simple appearing and doing some havoc and disappearing? Do you have a map of sewers?

"This is not the place to talk about stuff like that. Follow me." She leads you pass the workers and patrols into the small room on the ground level of the castle. "Now, I don't know what Vanya told you. To be honest, you all look to me like fresh meat, ready for the wolves. I honestly don't know what was he thinking. Well, I suppose his hat is now to big for hunting rats through the sewers - but you... Oh, well, I suppose I must work with what I have..." She takes a deep breath. "We have had about ten newborns and babies disappear from their homes. Witnesses saw big rats in the vicinity and it was full moon in the sky. We suspect wererats."

Male Human Vanguard

Thanks for the vote of confidence lady. Kyth says under his breath when he hears her talking about how they are fresh meat better for the wolves. Well at least I've heard of those before.

Knowledge Arcana:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

To see if I know the strengths and weaknesses of wererats and also to see if I know of any reasons they would need new borns. I doubt arcana will be any help but its all I got.

Male

Wererats you say? I have heard only rumors about them in the sewers... but first time that someone is able to confirm this. This seems to be more interesting than I though. I would suggest that faster we are moving and finding reasons for this as well finding out location, we are more secure and informed. Any literature or other information about the wererats would be useful

Asasha listens to Galrian engage with Milunka, raising her eyebrows at the emntion of wererats.
