1)Do Kaiju have any natural enemies other then of course other Kaiju?
2)Do the Kaiju predate earthfall or even humans on Golarion?
3)Do the Mi-go have anything to do with or work for the Dominion of the Black?
4)Now that we have rules for technology will we use non-magic item rules for Mi-go technology?
5)Are there any other races that use the Dominion's biotech but have nothing to do with them otherwise?
6)Are there any reason(s) for the Kaiju to be more commonly found in Tian Xia then anywhere else?
7)Will we ever find out the origins of the Kaiju?
8)Do Mi-go serve a more powerful version of themselves or something else?
9)Do Aboleth or Elder Things have anything to do with the Dominion of the Black?
10)Who or what are the Flumph trying to warn us about, the Aboleth, Elder Things, Dominion of the Black, Old Ones/Elder Gods, or something else?

I started my own thread for this question as well but I thought I would ask here as well. Would you or any other staff member ever be interested in running a pathfinder campaign at PaizoCon where the players are Paizo staff members or other celebrities? I think there would be a rather large section of the fanbase that would be interested in seeing this and it would be a great first hand look at how to run games. Has this kind of thing ever been discussed in house before?

Like a demonstration game? Run in a seminar room for folks to watch us play? Would that be something people want? hmm.

1) No.
2) Some do, some do not.
3) They're enemies of the Dominion of the Black.
4) Nope; mi-go technology remains its own weird combination of magic and tech, as detailed already. They're not humans, and therefore their technology doesn't follow the rules listed in the Technology Guide.
5) Not really.
6) Tradition. They're inspired by Asian movies, and therefore they dwell in the region of our world inspired by Asia. Same reason gnomes dwell in the region inspired by European myth, or rakshasas dwell in the region inspired by Indian myth.
7) Not anytime soon.
8) Mi-go serve mi-go with class levels, who in turn serve the Great Old Ones or Outer Gods.
9) No.
10) Could be any of them, but my preference would actually be the Dominion of the Black, since I'd rather not directly tie flumphs into Lovecraftian mythology if I can help it.

Run in a seminar room for folks to watch you play. It wouldn't have to be a demo game but could be if you wanted...that would actually be a pretty great way to get new players into the game I would think. This is what gave me the idea. They've been running at PAX for years.

In any event, there's no plans at this point to do much with Galt.
Wow, really? The fact that there are no plans for Galt at all surprises me. It's been very difficult because I've been trying to flesh out a characters back story and her childhood in Galt for quite some time but there is very little material to work with. I just assumed Paizo would make a Player Companion for Galt eventually, so I've been waiting for it to happen. It seemed like a natural progression to do different countries in some form of sequential order, considering how many countries have already been used(Varisia, Taldor, Cheliax, People of the North, Qadira, Adoran, etc). I would also assume that I am not the only player with this prospect but we can all see where my previous assumption got me so hands tied I suppose.
Besides the Inner Sea World Guide and information directly derived from it(like the wiki), where would be the best place or product to get more information on Galt, if there is one? A PFS module, maybe?

The Inner Sea is a big place. There's a LOT still to cover. That, plus the fact that we're very deliberate about what regions we DO cover means that the rate at which we explore new regions is pretty slow, especially considering that we do value returning to established regions now and then to flesh them out more fully.
Eventaully, and in time, we likely WILL make books to support play or whatever of all the regions. It'll take years, though.
At this point, info on Galt is spread all over. There's some in PFS scenarios. There's a bit here and there in books like Paths of Prestige. There's not a lot overall though at this point.
We'll get there some day.

1a) If its more like a mirror copy, does this means that there is a equivalent of outer space in the first world and there are planets, solar bodies, etc that are the first worlds of other planets/etc.
1b) Same question as 1a on the Shadow and Ethereal Plane.
2) How do beings like the outer gods, elder gods and the Dominion of the Black, that exists in the materiel universe and beings from the Great Beyond like the Proteans, demons, angels, devils, Axiomites, etc, view each other?
2a) And if they come into contact how would they respond? Fight? Ignore each other?

4) Is the Dominion of the Black actually evil Flumphs?

You've been fairly tight-lipped regarding what gods "get" out of their followers. With the River of Souls article, it seems to indicate that gods receive souls in the form of quintessence once their followers die. What sort of benefit does this give them in terms of the cycle and recycling of soul energy? What uses can it be put to?
Is this one of the reasons (or the reason, even) that gods cannot enter the Positive Energy Plane, according to the Great Beyond book? That it would be "free" quintessence?

I'm updating the Feast of Ravenmoor module to fit into a Rise of the Runelords campaign I'm running, and the PC's will be ending up in the village on their way to Jorgenfist following the attack on Sandpoint.
As I work to update the CR of the encounters to a more appropriate place, I find using templates is very useful, but I was wondering if Ghlaunder or his followers would summon or consort with demons? Primarily I ask to see if I can get away with some fiendish giant mosquitos and stirges and the like. I'm aware he's a CE deity, but does that automatically make him and his faithful likely to utilize demons?

So, now that the bloodrager has hit the ground, I have a question about their bloodlines. Currently, all of the bloodlines match the sorcerer's. Going forward, would you rather see the bloodrager diverge in bloodlines (as in having entirely unique bloodlines) or keep in line with the sorcerer?
I'd rather see the bloodrager stick to established sorcerer bloodlines and not outpace those bloodlines.

Quintessence is the raw matter from which reality in the Great Beyond is constructed. Without it, you have nothing. That's a pretty good benefit right there.
There is no quintessence in the positive energy plane at all, in any event.

8) Usually, yes. Or at the very least, as a member of a race that's native to their realm. (AKA Humans see Calistria as an elf, and elves see Iomedae as a human).

Someone just spoiled that Brigh has a herald(called the Latten Mechanism).
Does this mean the you guys are giving demigods heralds now?
In some cases, yes.... particularly if they're in the category of other gods/goddesses like Brigh. Not so much if they're Demon Lords... but even then... the penultimate Wrath adventure's all about Baphomet getting a herald.

Is the intent of spells with the 'curse' descriptor to be beneficial to its targets?
A player of mine wants to combine the new ACG 'curse' spell 'Hex Vulnerability' with his healing hex. It seems to me that this may not be the intent of the spell.
what do you think?
Not the intent of the spell.

It means Brigh's a true god, not a demigod. Edit: Or not? Interesting.
1) Are there any plans to return to Achaekek and give him/her/it a Herald, since Achaekek's been retconned to true deity status?
2) Is Achaekek properly referred to as a he, a she, or an it?
3) Assuming the answer to 1 is along the lines of "unrevealed" or "not at this time," is it fair to assume Achaekek would get another look if you did something that heavily involved Mediogalti Island and/or the Red Mantis Assassins?

Nope. She's still a demigod. She still only grants four domains. It just means that we're relaxing the limitation on what gods have heralds and what ones don't.
1) If and when we do a deity article about Achaekek, he'll get a herald.
2) He. (His title, after all, is "He Who Walks in Blood.")
3) In fact, we likely would NOT do a deity article about Achekek unless we were also doing a big Red Mantis themed AP.

1) All sorts of ways, depending on the nature of the story we want to tell, but in most cases the methods by which they show up are left mysterious by design.
1a) Since we don't have rules for deities yet... they resolve their conflicts in ways too mysterious for us mortals to comprehend.

Hey James,
Lords of Rust came for me via PDF, and surprise surprise, I'm loving it. Just something I wanted to ask for advice:
Iron Gods spoilers
They haven't figured it out yet (despite androids looking like humans, the various illustrations in the tech guide looking suspiciously like things humans would make and use), but I think the haunted ship will not only confirm what the race was, but I think they'll figure out very quickly what that particular players "secret past" is (I made the mistake of telling him that his character has a secret past, whoops).
If you were to hide the nature of the aliens who crewed Divinity in your Iron Gods game for that reason (ie clever players putting two and two together and potentially ruining the super awesome twist of one of the characters back stories), how would you reflavor the undead in the haunted ship making them seem alien but at the same time have similar traits to humans? I was thinking just having the two technician skeletons not look like preserved corpses before they're disturbed, but still eerily look like humans; perhaps the group would mistake them for android skeletons.
One more question: was the inclusion of the Xill amongst the Lords of Rust deliberately done to throw off players who would automatically assume it was a kasatha? :P

Lemmy |

1- What came first, dragons or dinosaurs?
2- Also, considering characters don't know the game mechanics and given that humans can interbreed with different races, how do humans know when someone is just a different ethnicity of the human race instead of a different race?
e.g.: How did white/black/etc people figure out that black/white/etc people are just humans that look a bit different, not a different race they can interbreed with, like elves and orcs?
3- Are Golarion scholars aware of DNA? How do they define what a "species" is?
4- When speaking in their native tongue, do other races refer to humanoid race as "said-race-oid" races? (e.g.: Do elves refer to humanoids as "elfoids" races? Do dwarfs use the term "dwarfoid"?)
5- Do other races see humans as "divided" since we have such a huge variety of languages, customs and traits when compared to most other humanoid races?

Hey James,
Lords of Rust came for me via PDF, and surprise surprise, I'm loving it. Just something I wanted to ask for advice:
Iron Gods spoilers
Spoiler:So I mentioned here a bazillion pages back that one of the players in my game is an Androffan with amnesia who remembers who he is only in the final book, or very near the end of book five. I do plan on doing heavy foreshadowing on who and what he is, however, and what the race that made all that tech was; the haunted ship in Scrapwall is a good start, I think.

One more question: was the inclusion of the Xill amongst the Lords of Rust deliberately done to throw off players who would automatically assume it was a kasatha? :P
And if the PCs theorize out that the player was from the ship... let them. Just don't confirm or deny. Players feel good when they figure those things out, even if it takes a long campaign for them to find proof.
And no... Nick put xill in there because he's a tiny bit obsessed with them, and since they're inspired by Alien, it made sense that they'd need to play a role at some point in an AP about things from outer space.
