James has it been revealed which bloodline Queen Abrogail Thrune II has?

The minimum height given to elementals, 4ft for small, 8ft for medium, 16ft for large, 32ft for huge, would it be reasonable to assume that gargantuan elementals are at 64ft and colossal at 128ft?

When I mentioned what CR gargantuas would be at if converted into pathfinder, I meant gargantuas from 2nd edition, sorry.

I actually have, but I'm not gonna do it. Spent enough time carrying around an extra 160 pounds or so. Don't wanna risk my back trying it again.

It has not. Infernal's the obvious answer, and that kinda makes me not want to make it infernal. We'll reveal it some day.

That not all multiclass options work well together. Multiclassing into spellcasting classes in particular is weird and awkward.

Sounds about right, I suppose, although the Colossal size category technically doesn't have a cap.

Actually the obvious answer would be either arcane or imperious given that she gained her powers through her family lineage not because of some distant infernal blood coursing through her veins

Two unrelated (I think) questions.

1. Mending might do it but if not what Spell could be used to fix faded or damaged tattoos, such as through getting a scar through them.

2. What are the chances of seeing an Atomic Elemental creature in Iron Gods?

Is or was there a reason (that you know of) why demigods, mythic-source-demigods, nascent demon lords and so on are able to grant access to domains but don't appear to possess the domain-granted powers of those domains themselves? How do they grant what they don't have?

Additionally, I notice that mythic characters who use Divine Source to grant spells don't have the option included for selecting their own favoured weapon for their followers. Should they be able to do this?

What skills could be used to investigate the cause of a fire? I was thinking Perception or maybe Knowledge (Engineering).

I had a weird dream last night. You (James Jacobs) passed out at a party from drinking too much wine, so a bunch of Middle Schoolers dragged you back to their school and locked you in a locker. So you made Sutter spend all morning going from school to school in the immediate area trying to find you.

Am I a prophet?

Can a simulacrum with the cooperative crafting feat participate in crafting magic items ?

Do Crafting Mastery and Cooperative Crafting stack ?

1) Currently there's not a good choice. I'd say heal the damage with magic and do some touch-up with Craft (tattoo).

2) Zero. We don't have an "Atomic Elemental Plane" after all.

Because that's not the way it works for demigods. They don't have to be able to use the powers they grant their clerics. Those powers aren't inborn to them; those powers are possessed by their worshipers as appropriate by class and level.

Divine Source is an exception to that rule in how it grants you some of those powers. And currently, you can't grant a favored weapon without being a full deity or demigod, which isn't something the rules currently allow.

1) If you want your Saint Cuthbert to be a god, go for it. But one doesn't have to be a god in order to have an artifact named after you.

2) Lots of ideas, but I don't give those out for free.

3) That's not a question.

During Earthfall there were many falling stars, one of which was obviously the Starstone. Given the common trope in fiction of mighty weapons, armour and so on forged from "falling stars" (even in low-magic settings of a sort like Westeros, which has the sword Dawn), is it possible or even likely that other rocks, perhaps less than the Starstone but still magical, are out there to be forged into magic items?

Could they serve as the basis for artifacts, even, or as legendary items? Even if they weren't the Starstone, being a part of Earthfall, influenced by aboleth magic, Acavna and her sacrifice, and so on, seems like a story seed for forging that sort of legend.

Hey James, did you know that the wildfire burning a few miles from my home is large than the city of Seattle?

[Edit] Also, if you start a wildfire, do you get XP for all the creatures killed because of it? (tongue in cheek)

Do you think it would be enough XP to survive an attack by the angry Arch-Druid in the area? *looks at Rysky suspiciously*

James Jacobs wrote:

Dragon #77 (1983) had a 78-card Tarot deck of many things. It's for 1st-ed AD&D, so even if you got your hands on a copy, you'd need to do some major conversions.

James: in your Pathfinder home games, how often do you convert content from earlier editions of D&D? (My players will be facing a carrion crawler tonight.)

Some more questions, if you feel like answering. :)

1. There's an Archmage Mythic Path ability (Crafting Mastery) that lets you craft any magic item as though you had the appropriate crafting feat. Would you let this apply to any crafting which is tied off of Item Creation feats, including making constructs [Craft Construct], brewing oozes [Craft Ooze], or fleshwarping [Craft Universal Item + Brew Potion]?

2. At this point, for making a character (such as a Lashunta) that uses psychic magic, what class and/or class options would you suggest as a base?

3. Is there any Elder God, Outer God or Great Old One you would say is appropriate for a focus on storm, thunder, lightning?

4. Could someone at once practice druidism and advanced technology, without violating the tenets of either system?

5. Could someone at once practice druidism and alchemy, without violating the tenets of either system?

6. For quasi-divine creatures that on one hand can grant spells on their own, on the other, serves or worships some greater power, such as Arazni (while alive) relative to Aroden (while alive), or some spawn of Yog-Sothoth versus that deity itself, would it be appropriate to say that some of their power stems from themselves, and some from their patron? Or are they better understood as conduits for that patron? Basically I wonder what would happen if a creature like that fell out of favour with the greater deity it serves - would it retain its abilities, or would it first need to find a new patron?

7. Are there any must-see sites in California?

Yes.

I threw a beholder at one of my groups. And I run older adventures ALL the time. Currently doing Gygax's Necropolis and Temple of Elemental Evil for 2 games, and had to cancel a third one that finished The Lost City and was moving into Maure Castle.

1) Probably not. I'd probably go with a new ability that augments the crafting of life for mythic characters.

2) Whatever you want. We don't have rules for psychic magic yet, so I'd either just not make a psychic character and just make a normal sorcerer or druid or bard or oracle or whatever. Or if you like Dreamscarred's rules for psionics, use those.

3) Maybe Ithaqua? That's the first one off the top of my head that's associated with storms.

4) Druids wouldn't embrace technology. They don't embrace the technology to make metal armor; I don't see lasers being any more acceptable. A technology using character can certainly embrace nature, but I wouldn't say as a druid.

5) Yes.

6) Yes. And if the creature fell out of favor, it would maintain it's own powers but would earn the previous deity as an enemy or a rival.

7) Absolutely. Limiting it to sites I've seen, the top ten would be:
The Redwoods
Mount Shasta
San Francisco
Hollywood
The Sierra Nevadas
Bluff Creek
Point Arena
Berkley
The Golden Gate
The Pacific Ocean Coastline

Hey James,

a) If an angel and a mortal conceived a child, are they ALWAYS half-celestials, or is that child becoming an aasimar possible? Same thing for tieflings?

b) A long time ago, in the murky mists of the Paizo forums, I remember you mentioning in a thread about androids that there might POSSIBLY be something out there than can "turn off" the metaphorical fog that clouds them from properly dealing with emotions. Would it be ridiculous to assume that something else exists where they can conceive children, or at least modify themselves where they are able to? I kinda like the idea of a "half-android" character.

c) How advanced is Golarion in terms of instruments? Do things like pianos exist?

Sadly, this isn't the first time this has happened. I had a dream a few months ago that I was in the Paizo Warehouse baking a cake for Sara Marie and Liz Courts while Sutter, who was eating a PB&J sandwich, watched.

Hi James,

I have a question about a character from Wrath of the Righteous

Spoiler:

My players found Arueshalae on our last session. They like her so I presume they will try to take her with them as much as they can. She starts with 3 trickster tiers, and following the advice in the AP issues, she should get 3 more as the AP progresses. Can you do me a favor and suggest 3 path abilities that she is more likely to take?

Thanks!

Skymetals are the whole point, in fact. But plain old "meteoric iron" works too.

And I never did get a chance to play Birthright, but I always thought it looked cool and intriguing.

Alas, I can't off the top of my head, since it's been months sine I've worked on her stats and story. Her role is one of support though, so it'd be best for her to take tiers that allow her to further support the party.

When Shoanti give their names in casual conversation, do they use their tribal honorific or their birth name? For example, when talking to a guy named Krojun Eats-What-He-Kills, do you call him "Krojun" or "Eats-What-He-Kills" if you're not using his full name? Which is the first name in a "first name basis" for Shoanti? Which name is their "given name?"

Have I asked this question in a way that makes it clear? Sometimes I worry when I ask these questions I can be hard to understand.

In casual conversation they'd use shorter names. So in the case you mention, it'd be "Krojun."
