You'll have to wait.

Also, kidnapping might make things go more quickly for the abductor, but they would CERTAINLY slow down or even cancel the playtest for everyone else, so said kidnapper would have to contend with a legion of angry Pathfinder fans. Something to keep in mind!

Insufferable logic is a part of his job.

I want to know if you are planning to make pawns for this AP (t´will be awesome).

If don´t: what do we need to make this happen?
Can you make a Kickstarter to support this one?
there are many of us that would love this pawns on our tables... and for other people, i guess they don´t want to miss this pawns too... So, What do you say?
Make this happen, t´will be a nice Christmas present!!

The pattern in which we're releasing Pawn sets for our APs will probably eventually catch up... but we're focusing for the most part on the current Adventure Paths. This isn't something that Kickstarter would help with—Kickstarter really only helps with the money to fund and finance a project, and that's part that we have covered. The part we DON'T have covered is the resources to do more stuff—our schedule is really packed tight, and there's no room to add more. And ironically, one other thing that Kickstarters are good at is adding a lot of extra work... especially if they're really successful (or conversely, if they're slow burners and need lots of marketing type work to get folks into them). So basically... doing a Kickstarter for a pawn set (or for ANY thing bonus over and above our schedule)... would result in a LOT more work... and therefore cause us more harm than good to the schedule and production.

Kickstarter works best to get new projects going for new companies or individuals. It's not a great solution for established companies who already have full schedules.

A question on possession, if I may. With Demons Revisited, there are various feats and the like that expand and provide a rules context for demons and other evil outsiders possessing mortals. Are there plans on similarly expanding it with the idea of celestials (angels, azata, archons, etc.) possessing mortals as well? Or, if not possession, then the idea of channeling them, such as what was put forward in WotC's Book of Exalted Deeds with celestials entering into a mortal's body with permission?

Not really. Demonic possession is the classic, after all. That said, there's no reason you can't houserule some of those feats for other outsiders if you wish.

If you haven't, the basic premise is that you're a witch who hunts evil angels.

My question: What would be the best way to stat out these angels? They're explicitly holy, yet also explicitly evil. Do they still get the good subtype?

Some of these angels also have nonstandard shapes. Dear and Decorations are heads with wings, Irenics are cars, Enchants are wheels, Fortitude is a two-headed dragon with an upside-down human head for a torso, and Justice is... well... this. Despite the weirdness, they're all still angels.

Haven't played it.

And the best way to stat out a race of evil angels in Pathfinder is to make a brand new category of outsider race. What you're describing may be called "angels" in the context of Bayonetta, but they're not in the context of Pathfinder. So they wouldn't be angels at all if you statted them up for Pathfinder unless you were comfortable replacing the existing angels or expanding their role to account for such unrelated new members of the race. We're not comfortable at Paizo doing that.

That's exactly the point of the playtest.

And so we scheduled the book's creation, development, editing, and all that to account for that. Turns out... getting the actual words written that comprise the playtest isn't something that happens immediately. It takes the authors and designers a few months to do so, and we want the playtest to be as solid and as clear as possible—we want to cut out the obvious bad ideas and make it as playable as possible. In a perfect world, the playtest itself is perfect and everyone loves it and we don't have to make any changes. That won't happen... but we want to get as close to making that happen as we can. And that stage of document preparation has to occur AFTER the words are written... which also takes several weeks.

And since it's a Gen Con release... we're not interested in releasing it early anyway, so starting earlier would only make our other projects constricted in resources.

I understand that folks are eager to see it... but trust me... from our internal scheduling, even though it seems like it's been forever since we announced it... we ARE on a schedule to get things done. We just don't want to promise dates publicly at this point because we aren't 100% sure it's where it needs to be yet.

So... be patient. It'll happen this year. and there's still more than 2 months left in said year.

I'm really hoping the Swashbuckler can be played like Fighter with Grit if one is so inclined and not restricted to Finessing it up.

Yes.

The Blood War is one that immediately comes to mind.

The idea that deities are powered by faith, and that a deity with no worshipers dies is another.

Early Greyhawk's notion that a demigod can't grant as many spells as a lesser god, or a lesser god can't grant as many as a greater god.

The idea that on other planes your god can't reach you and thus you can't prepare cleric spells of higher than 2nd level.

Those are the first four that pop into my head. More exist I'm sure.

This is somewhat of a creepy question:

I've asked you before if certain races like elves and such can be overweight, and you replied that yes, that is the case.

Generally are there adventurers of that body-type? Most of the other places I've asked this question indicate that even if someone was fat at level 1, they wouldn't be after a few levels of adventuring they'd have shed it as adventuring is a very active lifestyle, even for more "sedentary" classes like wizards.

I've always seen adventuring as a VERY active lifestyle. Not only does adventuring count as lots of strenuous exercise, it also is very dangerous and as such the less healthy folks (including overweight folks) will tend to get "weeded out" of the lifestyle with greater frequency. And finally... there's not a sociological element in most game worlds that encourages obesity—aka, there's not fast food or overwhelmingly saturated junk food marketing campaigns and the like.

All of that, to me, suggests that there's not a lot of overweight adventurers at all. Doesn't mean they're not, of course!

Do you ever run into a situation where your players don't take an active interest into NPCs, yet they constantly place themselves in situations where other people SHOULD matter? How do you get them to care more about NPCs without making the relationships seemed forced?

I want to try using the Jade Regent / Ultimate Campaign relationship rules, but I'm a little worried that it'll make the NPC's attitudes feel too gamey.

Well... to be honest, the inspiration for the relationship rules WAS a video game. Not Warcraft, though; Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Knights of the Old Republic, Baldur's Gate... all the classic Bioware games.

If it feels too video gamey, don't use it. I think that kind of system works pretty well, though, and have found that it DOES help more statistics-oriented minds get into roleplaying and NPC relationship building better.

I wouldn't call "chaotic evil" a "lesser" at all. In fact, demons are as capable, if not more so, of being subtle and tricky in their pursuit of evil as any devil. PARTICULALRY succubi and glabrezus, but others as well. Check out "Demons Revisited" or the Wrath of the Righteous Adventure Path for lots of examples of demons who use subtlety and trickery to cause great ruin. A few demon lords who immediately come to mind as masters of this are Nocticula, Lamashtu, Socothbenoth, Pazuzu, and Baphomet.
