IL, Chicago Suburbs (West) - Pathfinder newbie looking for online group or offline

40 year old gamer brand new to Pathfinder after Gencon got me hooked. Just have core rulebook and advanced players guide, but have to get started after not playing D&D for over 10 years.

So looking to get into a group in the Chicago western burbs OR play online at a consistent rate with a group.

I am free a lot so can do many turns or join live events

Welcome to the website! I hope you find it enjoyable.

Can't speak too much to Chicago specific game, but if you keep checking the Gamer Connection thread, you'll find that there's usually a few games being setup - some via Pbp others via Chat/Skype/realtime stuff.

If you've never done the Pbp thing, it can be a great way to extend the role-playing side of things, but combats can get messy depending on how your DM handles it. Also, even if everyone posts each day, it can be a slower process than a live table-top. However, if you are new to Pathfinder that may not be a bad thing - as it gives you a chance to learn and discuss the mechanics.

Around where? I'm in the Joliet/Plainfield area, and I've seen a few meetup groups in the western suburbs/Chicago proper.

Sorry for the late reply. I am in the Westmont area, which is like near Downers Grove.

I am also looking for online play as well

I've got a couple of games running in the area looking for new players too. I'm in the Naperville/Plainfield Region. I made need someone for my Sunday evening group held in Wheaton.

I have a regular gaming group that gets together on Tuesdays from 18:00-22:00+...we play APs, but several of us have active PFS characters. Speaking only for myself, I'd be very happy to get with a group for PFS on some Tuesdays.
