The awesome thing about this is that I got back into Legos. And, let me tell you, they've come a LONG way since I was a kid. The Castles/Kingdoms sets have a ton of great stuff for D&D (although dwarves/orcs only appear in Castles, which is on hiatus right now), and the sets are terrific for the games too. The Troll Warship comes with a dragon and most of the weapons & such work just like they should.
And, the best part for Gamers w/ Kids is that you can claim you're buying them for the kids!! :P
I was a Lego fanatic when I was a kid. The medieval setting was my favorite, but I did mixes and mash-ups between a bunch of them to create my own personal landscape sprawled downstairs in the basement.
As a nostalgia moment, my father got me a Star Wars Lego box set that was an exclusive with Admiral Ackbar (!) and he even hooked me up with their VIP membership. Not really going to make much use out of it, but it was the thought that counts.
Anyone who has children should definitely get them into the creativity that is Lego. Other than losing or accidentally swallowing pieces, one can never go wrong with Legos.

The other one(s) that blow my mind are the final Harry Potter films. I mean, seriously? NONE of the other SIX films are 3D, why the blankity-blank would you make the last one in a completely different style? It's like if they had brought back Futurama with manga style animation. :-/

I have no interest whatsoever in 3-D. Maybe it has something to do with my first experience with 3-D. It was a reshowing of House of Wax (1953). The only thing I can remember was the paddle ball man with the ball bouncing out of the screen.
3-D does not seem to enhance the story. It always seems to be an effect just to show off. Watching recent previews at the theater is disturbing however, because it seems I may be forced to watch and pay extra for 3-d since there will be no alternative.

Hey man, I'm just glad to know you're okay. I'm freaking out a bit now as (everyone knows by now) I'm going to Otakon and then SC for a week, and the wife will be on her lonesome.
