Male Drow Ardent 2

Move to I14.
Ire strike - Kevaras v Ghost 2
Ardent Surge for Corpus (surge plus 1d6 ⇒ 1

"Mmmmm... I love the smell of ectoplasm in the morning."

Kevaras basic attack, at -2 for being prone. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20. Hit. Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6.

As Vernal brings Corpus back from the brink once more, his orders to Kevaras causes an injury to the ghost.

Male Revenant (Drow) Tempest Fighter

Should be at 29/36 after Vernal’s ardent surge.

Move to I9, mark the ghost and use duel strike.
Main hand on ghost, attack vs AC, 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26, damage = 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Off hand on Jargo, 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23, damage = 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Corpus moves forward and the Weapon Master cuts down both remaining foes handily. Again, as the ghost dies, a dark bolt shoots from it into Naubos, and he cries out.

Out of Combat. The group is up to 1415 XP, and Ediza wears a pair of Boots of Spiderclimbing. Note that I am not going to be using the Rules Compendium idea of magic item rarity, so put things on your wishlists that you want without regard to that. I will be using the revamped Daily magic item use rule, which basically says you can use any Daily power at anytime, just only once per day, no need to milestone aquire first.

Ediza's last people are down, and the ghosts are also gone. The door is closed, the rune circle on it glowing in the semi darkness of the cave.

Male Revenant (Drow) Tempest Fighter

Scope out the room and rune circle.

Perception = 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Arcane = 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

Male Drow Ardent 2

Sorting out Vernal's wishlist.
Did we just get an AP?

Yes, you have an Ap gain now. Don't forget to rest and heal. The circle is just part of the door, a magical lock that the halflings 'picked', so that the door can be opened. The room has nothing of interest.

Male Drow Ardent 2

Vernal took no damage that time, so he's on full hp with 4 surges left.

Vernal wanders over to Naubos. "Do tell us more about this staff that isn't for superior races."

Male Shadar-Kai Monk 2

Spending one surge.

Male Hobgoblin Cosmic Sorcerer 2

Using 2 surges, 30/31 HP

"I don't know any details about it. I was sent here to recover it, but I was not given any information about it." Naubos replies.

"Well then, I guess we'll just have to go get it and find out." Ovid opens the door.

Did anyone take the Boots of Spider Climbing?

Ovid pulls open the door and sees a ruined room. There is more rubble here then in any of the other rooms. Rubble is gray squares.. On either side of the room are glowing blue arcane circles. Those are the dark blue squares. . Towards the back, there is an altar The green squares on which lays a staff. There are also three ghosts here. Two black ones, like you saw come through the door into the other room, and one which has flecks of white all through it - it would look, to a surfacer, like the night sky come to life.

Male Revenant (Drow) Tempest Fighter

Move to L20

Male Drow Protecting Paladin 14 / Hospitaler

Thanks to Vernal's Mantle of Readiness I can get to J19.

With a minor action I place Ghost 2 under Divine Challenge and to fulfil the requirements of the challenge I attack Gh2 with:
Darkfire 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28 vs Reflex; Hit: Until the end of my next turn, all attacks against Gh2 have combat advantage, and it cannot benefit from invisibility or concealment.

The front wave of the party bounds over the rubble and the ghost is lit up nicely by drow darkfire. Just then another Star Ghost comes out of the back wall.

The normal ghosts move forward, the first towards the back line of the party, the second to Kevaras, reaching for him with a black claw.

Claw attack vs Fort: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10.

The claw doesn't hit, however, not even coming close. The first star ghose moves to Corpus and the pattern seems to pull at his mind, insidious whispers trying to worm into his psyche as it reaches for him with a claw.

The Star Ghosts have a hypnotic aura. Any enemy adjacent to them gets a -2 to will, and is slowed. It makes a Dizzying Touch attack bs Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16. Hit for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 psychic damage and Corpus is Marked until the end of Star 1s next turn.

Santander calls down fire to no avail at all, though he does leave flames along the floor.

Naubos then steps back and uses his own arcane powers on the same enemies that Santander targeted.

Maze of Mirrors against Gh2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 and St2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

No info from the dungoneering check. Did you want to shift back so that it can't attack you since it's immobilized?

Amelia wrote:

Good idea! The drow backs away from the reach of the ghost's claws.

Kevaras steps backwards after striking his foe. The two ghosts near him can do nothing but stare as they are held in place by Naubos' magic.

The ghost in the back of the room moves next to Naubos and Vernal, but it does not attack either one.

The first star ghost turns it's attentions to Ovid, since he just stabbed it, and attacks him with it's claw.

Dizzying Touch, against Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18. Hit: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 psychic damage, and Ovid is marked.

Vernal keeps his eyes on the ghost pursuing him.

"You like me. That's so sweet, but how can I break this to you gently? It isn't mutual. I just don't feel that way."

The knife spins again and stabs.

Move to I21. Force Orb vs St1 (Ref).
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 162d8 + 5 ⇒ (7, 7) + 5 = 19
If that hits secondary attack vs St3 (Ref):
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 111d10 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Both force damage.

Malzie darts behind Kevaras. "Thank the goddess, we have such capable males." she purrs. It is unclear whether she is being sarcastic, as a a ball of blue force forms around the strange spirits.

Malize darts forward, the ball of force shooting from her hand. While the orb destroys the first target, the other ghost avoids the magical ball. Like the ghosts outside, the slain star ghost turns into a silvery ball that shoots forward and strikes Naubos.

Malize, you didn't have enough move to make I21, since grey is rough, so I put you in I22.
