You probably need one of those crazy wide aperture superzoom lenses that they use for sports. You don't have $5k lying around for a new lens?

I could, but dissection would be a lot more fun. I have a rusty letter opener and some push pins ready to go.

No, all mammals have hair or fur at some stage of their life cycle. No non-mammals have hair or fur of any kind.

So you can put that rusty bonesaw away.

I see no fur in your avatar picture, unlike mine, which illustrates what a long, luxurious, lavendar scented mane looks like. Your avatar is bald and appears to be made of metal.

Hmmm...mammals definitely don't have metal skin. This only heightens the need to perform a dissection. However, it looks like we also will need a blow torch.

Hey, you could always get him really drunk then see if he'll let you do a deep probe. :P

Ha. I don't yet have the money to justify buying an SLR.

Here is probably the best one I took today. We'll see if I can get anything better tomorrow when graduation happens.

My Mother makes the best potato salad in the world. Fortunately, I have access to the recipe and the skills to follow through.

;)

Woodraven wrote:

No, I wish it were. Skyline is where I got the idea from, however. There used to be a Skyline Chile a few blocks from my dorm at the University of Kentucky. It was right next door to Collisseum (sp?) Liquors...

I haven't taken the time to follow through with my chile recipe (four hours in the crockpot) and so I bought some at Farm Fresh. It was not too good by itself. :( They let the water in the steam well go dry and as a result the chile was kind of burned. But, adding the home cooked spaghetti, shredded cheddar cheese, freshly cut onion, Ritz crackers, crushed red peppers, and fresh ground black pepper made a big difference. It could have used some more chile powder, however.

about collisseum liquors:

I stayed in Holmes Hall which was the full fledged handicapped access dorm at UK. So, I had many paraplegic and quadraplegic friends there. Some had debilitating illnesses such as MS and some had lost mobility due to four wheeling accidents and the like.

Of course, most of these guys were considerably older than 21 and thus they were often the ones who made the runs to the beer store. So, one time when one of them (wheelchair bound student), call him DA, was set to go, he suggested that I go also. And another student in a wheelchair, this one my age, suggested I take his wheelchair also.

It was fun. We went rolling across campus fine until we crossed a street near the Wildcat lodge where the UK basketball players stayed. To make it over the curb, it was necessary to pull a short wheelie and get the front wheels over. Then, you could use power to bring the back wheels on up. However, I tried again and again but could not pull the wheelie and make it over the curb. :( Enter Derrick Miller, one of the starters for the UK BBall team. Seeing me have trouble, he came over to offer a hand. That was very nice of him. However, the stunned look on his face was priceless after I declined and stood up out of the wheelchair and helped myself over the curb. :)

Then, it was awesome in the liquor store. I rode circles through the aisles and didn't even get carded when I made a purchase. It was a blast.

OMG....I went to my daughter's preschool end of year program.
There's this little kid in the show....like 4 y.o.;
I....I called it the "this kid's name" show cause he was so f~~~ing funny. Total natural, everything he does everybody there is laughing their faces off; it's the first one of these things I was actually entertained.
I've never seen a 4 year old natural comedian before like this kid, but he needs his own show. I'm nothing compared to this kid. I'm a hack.

We know that you are a hack, Heathy. ~grins~ But you still have talent.

Minor Rant: ** spoiler omitted **

Sorry to hear that Lynora. A bit of a hopeful story from another parent:

Spoiler:
My daughter Julia was a problem child, pretty much up until two years ago. It was so bad at one point that she had to go live in a residential facility, pretty much because she was ungovernable. She has come out the other side, and has become a wonderful (if occasionally teen bratty) kid.

This weekend we had my sister and her family down to visit. Her son Myron is three and a total terror. He ripped through our house, and we watched as my poor seven-month pregnant sister tried to corral this human incarnation of a tornado. My sister and her husband are proponets of the 'Don't crush his imaginative spirit' parenting, which means Myron is basically never told no unless in direct danger.

After they had left yesterday, Julia turns to me and my wife and says, 'Wow, now I can see why you guys got so angry at me and why you took such a hard line with me. I would never be able to handle that.' So it was a small happy parenting moment, and proof that problem kids can learn, and can mature, and one day they will understand the sacrifices that you have made and the actions you have to take.

Goooooooooood morning Fawlty Towers!!!!

Well, I had to drop 75 bucks on it, but I did get a new adapter/charger for my laptop. It's a universal one(sooooooooo many different heads!!!) with a lifetime warranty, so I think that's a little better than getting one from the original company that will crap out in a year or two after purchase. Running around from point A to point B on this search meant I didn't get a chance to check my e-mail, so if anyone has gotten back to me on some of the stuff I posted/did yesterday, I'll e-mail 'em back today.

I'm thinking about sitting out tomorrow's RotRL game if only because I want to be quite prepared for this weekend's Darklight Sisterhood game. Its going to be on Sunday and the ladies are looking forward to a loooooooooooong game filled with bloodshed, so I need to be ready for 'em.

In other news, Infinite Space has completely and totally taken over my life. I even dreamt about it last night- I was the captain of a transport cruiser and for some reason had a young lover named Chris. Not a girl-type Chris, but a boy-type Chris. I think I'm working too hard on the second job, which is actually where I have to go today before I go to enjoy this New Comic Book Day.

Well, that's about it for me. What is everyone else up to?

Good to get validation from your child, Patrick. As much as I love my mother, I don't think I'll ever do that, however- there were too many things we didn't see eye to eye with as a kid(raised by mom), and one memorable incident from when I was an adult that I didn't agree with either my mother or my father on. *sigh* My vengfulness is unhealthy.

*sigh* Posting as hubby again...really need to get that damn cord fixed on his laptop.
