Typical timing. I'm just heading to bed and you're just coming on. :(
Taig took a peek at it and thinks that a couple of brackets can simply be tightened...lets hope.

Morning, all. What did I miss?
Well, Doyle and the Captain got in an argument over who would get the last donut with sprinkles, only to have it quickly snatched up by Bill. Meanwhile, everyone was shocked when Al showed up to the big meeting speaking only Spanish, and wearing a bathrobe and fuzzy penguin slippers. And, on the other side of town, Eric and Leo were stuck in an elevator, where they passed the time....No, wait! That's my soap opera.

Ack! I'll have to check it later at home. I did look at the FAWTLY-con photo album you put up, though.

Had the transition meeting this morning at Bryce's new school (he'll be going there in the fall). It went pretty well. They seem to be pretty familiar with SPD so that's a good thing. It seems like they were very willing to work with us and I am hopeful that he might even have a not disastrous school year next year. :)

I'm glad that information is helping you. It really helps when you know what needs to be addressed.

Tell me about it I'm leaving my opinion out of civil rights discussions for awhile I always come in like a hammer and blow it all apart.

It makes a huge difference. And thank you again for pointing me in the right direction. :)

That is because you have strong feelings on the matter. And well you should. We all should. We should all agree that we wont all agree however.

I'm going to really challenge myself... Let's see if I can not even read it. If I don't read it, I won't be tempted.

I read it and well..... I'm done looking at it. I think I could really go off, and frankly it's the last thing any of us need.

Ok in the current political climate of that thread the last thing you need is me the gay married, exetremely socially liberal guy. To step in and try and shame them all...... frankly it'll just make me look bad. So I'm gonna restrain myself. I have actually been turned down for jobs because of my husband so. The last thing I need is the Rand Paulers jumping down my throat.

I'm all for smurfing politics threads in general.
Or, being silly in them. I almost think that's better. It's quasi-cathartic to go into a thread where you really want to post on-topic and post something silly instead.

The thread has been civil so far. Is it morally wrong to do a preemptive smurfing?

Yeah I really like the Doe Congress line. :D Once the title gets fixed there will be no reference to it at all.

Uh-oh. Asking if something is morally wrong is the beginning of an alignment debate - and those never end well!
I think a cold smurfing is unwarranted (where people just pop in to say smurf and leave), but I do think most politics/angry threads can always use a dose of silliness. I think it helps people dial back when they get too angry or lets them hop onto another tangent and try to get out of a heated argument.
The Civil Religion thread benefits from its frequent page or two of side silliness.

Depends on the thread. Just hard to tell the point of smurfing. It is a fine line to walk upon. Is there potential for WMD's {weapons of massive dipshites)

Smurfing kinda did make me feel better but probably pissed a lot of trolls off lol. As for sleep sorta, I slept for 16 hours yesterday. But none today.
