Meanwhile, Charlie, Paul, and Sammy, along with many others, spent any evening down at the pub discussing the local elections at great length, whether anyone wanted them to or not. And, on the other side of town several extremely cool, yet puzzlingly colorless statues had appeared out of nowhere...

We used to have a bunch of those around here until a few years ago. All were bought up and prepped for more suburbs. Then we ended up with a bunch abandoned 2-story houses when construction and the housing market bombed. :\

Fortunately our yard won't be too big. My partner apparently likes to mow grass and I do like to garden. We'll just see how long it takes for us to get sick of it. :)

Yeah I'll take the weeds. The good thing is this farm would have been long gone, but the previous owners sold the development land rights to a land bank. It can't be anything other than a farm for 80 years :) So it's at least open land..

Gardening is its own reward. I love it, and the fresh vegs. We're still eating pickeled green beans from last year (yum!)
