BTW, what precipitated the soul searching? (I'm getting caught up on some of the posts)

Being 34 and not having any idea where the hell I'm going in life. I feel like I don't serve any purpose in life. It's high time I get off my ass, overcome my fear of failure and try again for the PD.

Having the same issue here, my drow brother. At the persistence nagging of my better half, I returned to my LISW visit this morning to work out a game plan. The only contingency is whether I am going to stay here in Columbus ... or relocate. Keep in mind that I've never lived anywhere else. Big change for me. Got to have a talk with Urizen Sr to see what my options are.

Hang tough sir.

That Thieves' World is $$$. I swore I saw a used copy for half off the cover at a HPB last week.

I have Trailblazer as a PDF. Would love to get my hands on Fantasy Craft, but I hear they're releasing a revised version with errata in August, so I'm holding out.

Well, in actuality the cost of the Gift Set is $25 from Green Ronin + $5 for the extra Player's Manual. I opted for UPS shipping on the package and that came to $13.16; better in hand than lost in the mail.

I can live with getting the revised stuff as a PDF supplement.

*sigh*

I went a little download crazy this month with the new P2P program I got and hit my download limit with 10 days still to go on my month. :/

This of course means that I am limited back to Dial Up speeds. This may also mean that I am scarce for a little while as it is pissing me off having to do everything at a freakin' snail's pace. >:|

Hopefully Mele can organise a better plan soon (our plan isn't bad, but it's old and not good either) and I might be able to get back into the swing of things next week?

Moorluck and Solnes this will mean that there will be no Skype for the next couple of weeks, which sucks rather large donkey balls. ):(

Good morning FAWTLers

Hope everyone's Thursday goes better than their Wednesday and that TAD's very good inspirational message last night keeps ringing in everyone's ears.

Another long day ahead of me but at least we are edging quickly to the weekend.

And a belated welcome to Todzilla. You've jumped into a great thread.

*double sigh*

I just renewed my subscription to KQ today (didn't really have the money, but there were some articles I wanted and I figure if I'm buying it anyway, I might as well go the sub).
So after I resubscribe, I find out 2 things:
1) The reason it was taking so long is 'cause the speed was limited (see above) and then when I tried to download it the damn thing won't let me... it keeps bottoming out at 10MB (of 34MB), so even though I bought it to read straight away, I can't even do that. So I could have waited another week and split the payment over both weeks. :/
2) One of the articles that I wanted to get Issue 13 for (in fact the biggest reason) isn't even in there anymore... >:(
I love Tengu and I really wanted to read the article about them advertised at the end of Issue 12.

grrrrr..... not happy Jan!

Sorry to hear about your internet woes, Flash. I hope you get it resolved soon. :(

And...where's that quote at the end from? It sounds familiar, but I can't place it.

Good morning, everyone! I'm gonna trundle back to the site to make sure things are running well. Wish me luck. :)

Scarab Sages

Our cubicles at work have plastic holders for thick paper tags with our names on them. So, the first thing I notice this morning is my name tag, removed from the holder and placed on my keyboard. I'm freaking out, thinking "WTF?", and check the holder - inside is a new name tag reading:

Scott Abercrombie
Full Time Ninja

Come to find out, our co-op got creative with a CNC machine out in the lab we loaned him to. Needless to say, I laughed my ass off.

That's awesome!

I think Moorluck is contemplating the PD because he knows how much Solnes likes the guys in uniform. ;)

Seriously though bud, the cities up here are cutting staffing in the PD and FD. But, of course, that seems to be the case everywhere. *sigh* Good luck. I had that same self eval period last decade. Found that it's more of who you are versus what you do. :)

Good morning Fawltyites!

Just got a hilarious call from my wife who is doped up on general anesthesia after getting that tube down her throat where they look around your gut for things that make you unwell...I wish I could post the transcript, but after a few minutes of laughing and reassuring her that I love her, I've forgotten it all.

It's been a great couple of days aside from my wife being under the weather. I'm playing the weekly game tonight, I have Ptolus on Saturday and Darklight Sisterhood on Sunday. Although I've fallen off the exercise wagon again, I'm making great progress on my to-do list with my writing and stuff I want on Amazon. For now, life is good.

What is going on on your side of the fence?

I thought a whipping boy was the lad who was whipped for the misdeeds of a royal prince, who could not be punished corporally. I don't see this as a positive use.

The elves are elves--it's kinda hard to break from the tropes without it becoming unrecognizable. I like that you have another offshoot (the calmlyns) beyond half-elves.

The anchorite is an interesting class, but it could be intimidating because it comes with practically a whole new rules subsystem. It's obvious you put a lot of thought into it, though.

We had an intern at my company two summers ago who told HR he would not want to work for the company. So, the then current HR VP went to Engineering to find out who put these terrible ideas into the intern's head.

Things there seem a little jumbled due to my lack of facility with html. I'm trying to put more spaces in between the stuff I write, people have complained the lines are too close together. I'm also considering editing out some of the more purple prose.
