Liberty's Edge

Here is a place for us to talk OOCly about the Crypt of the Everflame RP.

Male Human (Taldan descent) Bard 1

Just testing out the boards dice roller, never used before.

1d10 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 181d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

From what I have used so far, it treats me well.

Tarlane,

would it trouble you if I traded combat reflexes for another feat. Stand Still doesn't work as I had hoped (at least to my reading it doesn't.)

Liberty's Edge

No problem, Velios. Its still early enough on that I don't mind those little adjustments, you haven't had to make use of any skills or combat ability yet, after all.

Let me get your opinion. If I took Stand Still next level and I use a reach weapon, could I stop opponents 10ft away when they provoke an AoO because of my reach. The feat says adjacent squares. I don't know?.?.? The way I read it I couldn't.

Liberty's Edge

I read it the same way. I just did a search on the boards to see if there was any indication that the developers had given any indication that it was intended to be able to be used with polearms, but I didn't see anything.

I think that is both against the intention of the feat(which seems to be to stop enemies from getting past you to the squishies behind you, and could be overpowered against enemies without reach or ranged attacks since you could effectively ensure they could never hit you by simply using your AoO to stop them 10ft away, strike them on your turn and 5ft step back. They would have to move(rather then just 5ft step) to try and hit you, so you could start the cycle again.

I'm going to rule it would only work against adjacent foes, so do feel free to change your feat.

Thanks for looking that up. I will have it changed.

Tarlane just wanted to let you know that if at anytime you are waiting for me (particularly in combat events) to feel free to abdicate my actions to keep the game moving. I trust your best judgment.

Liberty's Edge

No worries, Beilin. I'm going to try and keep things moving, since I know that is the biggest issue that PbPs have. When its RP situations, I try and let you guys get as much chatter in as possible though so you can let your characters be more full that way.

I normally try and give everyone a full day to post at least before I press on, a little more when its the weekend or something and people seem to be posting a bit slower, a bit less time when a bunch of people seem to be on at once chatting away.

Dang, sucks about KEJR having to drop. Like you said, real life comes first. How many does that put us? 6 I think?

Liberty's Edge

Thats what it looks like, yes, which is really the number I was hoping to be at to begin with. I think we have a pretty good group here, so things should be good. With this number, I'll have to do less adaptation on the module itself to make up for numbers.

Sounds good. On to the Crypt!

This!!!

Ah, but isn't the trip there part of the fun? Especially now that it looks like none of you guys have survival anymore.

Heh fully, maybe I should multi-class into ranger (have been thinking about it). Luckily Knowledge: Nature is considered an untrained skill for me. And your absolutely correct the trip is most often just as much fun as the destination.

I don't have any ranks in survival, but it is a class skill for me and I have an awesome +1. Woohoo!
