Beilin (pronounced Bay-len)has lived his entire life in the village of Kassen. His father a woodsman turned guerrilla fighter has fought alongside many of the other men of the village, indeed the entire region, to keep Nirmathas free of the influences of outside interests. It was during such a fight six years ago that the elder Beilin lost his life leaving his son an orphan. Beilin's mother a priestess of Desna had died two years prior during the birth of their second child, a tragedy that also took the life of Beylin's would be sister.
The young boy was raised by the village as a whole you could say, He would spend time with one family until his antics or practical jokes (mostly harmless but annoying none the less) began to wear on the host and he would be traded off to the next family. His unruliness was tolerated because of the place his family had held within the village and because of a sense of pity for the boy. Each foster family would attempt to channel his natural inquisitiveness into positive functions and through this he was able to learn a great deal of menial and sometimes spectacular tricks and tasks.
For Beilin his favorite times were when he got to stay with good Master Trelvar, the owner of a local inn. Here he could take in the stories and rumors of the great land outside of Kassen brought by traders and would-be adventurers alike.
Beilin has a happy and excited disposition, he is always eager to meet new people and to absorb whatever knowledge he can from them. He has a reputation for being reckless and sometimes insensitive to those around him. If something unexpectedly breaks or a wash line of clean linen falls landing the clothes in mud his name is often cursed regardless of his actual involvement. If it was not for his good-nature and obvious lack of ill-intent he probably would have been run out of town a great while ago.
Maturing now into an adult he has the future to think of, and his place in it, a yearning to leave the village and explore the rest of Golarion plague his dreams, but he lacks the actual motivation to take the leap into the unknown, at least until now.
Beilin is well known throughout the village for his accuracy with both bow and sling and he has twice now defeated older men with his quarterstaff during harvest festival competitions.
