Just a quick announcement, folks--
We've been very pleased and quite humbled by the positive response from the Pathfinder fan community to our previews and pre-order of our first licensed release, Tome of Secrets.
We're getting prepped for GenCon, and so we need to announce that we're going to stop taking pre-orders as of 11:59 pm Central Time on Sunday, August 9th.
After the pre-order period ends, there will only be three ways for you to get a copy of Tome of Secrets:
1) Purchase a PDF version, available via the Paizo store or via RPGNow/DriveThruRPG, as of 8/13.
2) Purchase a copy of the pre-order edition at GenCon -- where it will be available at the Paizo booth, and at the booth of our print partners, Cubicle 7 (booth 2334).
or
3) Wait until November, when the general release version is distributed to game stores.
Again, pre-order customers will receive a PDF copy sent to them on the morning of the 13th, and a copy of the book shipped to them upon our return from GenCon (the week of the 17th). Time is running out, though, so be sure to place your order before the end of Sunday!

who cares, i totally pre-ordered mine forever ago :)
one of my favorite 3rd party supplement pieces is the old Expert Feats PDF which I use to create special NPCs sprinkled here and there... Adamant Entertainment is top notch!
People should get on the bandwagon or don't come crying to me later.
What is next week's preview?

It is also our last preview (OH NOES!) since we're releasing next week. :)
OH YES! last preview means it's almost PFRPG Time.........like Hammer time but without those weird baggy trousers and cooler, if you are old enough to have suffered through that music like I did ;-)

This will be one of the first things I buy at GenCon.

We only get the free pdf if we pre-order online, right? If I want to pick mine up from Paizo's booth at GenCon I don't get a free pdf download with that, right?
Actually, on the last page of the book, there are instructions for how to get a free PDF.
Basically, it involves emailing Adamant with your name, the name of the place you bought it, and a pic or scan of your receipt -- and we'll send a PDF to you. This is intended more for the folks who will be buying the book through game stores in November, but we'll support it for GenCon sales, too.

I ordered one, oh yes.
I was also persuaded into getting the pulp Savage Worlds pre-order, too (been looking forward to that since you told me about it at rpgnet in a thread I started about pulp systems).
Some people waste their money on stuff like retirement funds. I am investing in rpgs and (soon) Dwarven Forge.

Glad to hear it, as I'm having a friend of mine buy a copy for me at Gen Con.
Must tell him to Keep the receipt.

Why you really need to pre-order this:
an Artificer that looks fun to play
a Warlock
a sweet swashbuckler
chasing stuff for fun and profit
a Shaman fit for tibal wup@ss
check out the previews!

Okay so I think I want this, but I think for my sanity's sake I have to wait till november, I will however be asking my local book store to pick up a copy. Having bought books like this in the past and been dissapointed, I just want the chance to look through it before ordering. Is there a link I can follow to all of the previews you've done?

See DitheringFool's post a few above yours. All the previews have been on the Paizo messageboards.

Well, I was waffling back and forth on ordering this, but I eventually gave in. A big factor was that I like Eberron and having a workable artificer class is a necessity for that setting.
I thought the same thing, but that Artificer preview doesn't look very similar to the one from Eberron. It may be more accurate to convert the 3.5 version. I haven't worked out how to compensate for the loss of the experience cost for items, though. Maybe just give them the reduced gold cost feat for free and then make improved and greater versions for higher levels.

I totally caved when I saw the Artificer. Don't get me wrong, the other previews were great, but the Artificer is what really hooked me.
I can't wait to see all the other juicy portions that haven't been previewed, like the Warlord and the Knight, not to mention the flaws system and the character occupation thingy. My players are very excited (and free-riding jerks who just wait for me to buy it for the group).

Okay, I'll admit that maybe I'm a little slow, but...
Do you have to pre-order to pick it up at Gen Con or will it be available for walkups? I'll be there bright and early Thursday morning and am wondering if I can buy it at the same time I buy Pathfinder.
The pre-order is mostly for folks who *won't* be at GenCon. They'll get their PDFs on the 13th, and the book shipped to them afterwards.
At GenCon, you just walk up to either the Paizo booth (who will have copies), or come see me at the Cubicle 7 booth (our print partners, at booth 2334).
Heck -- even if you purchase at the Paizo booth, stop by our booth and say hello!

Thanks, Gareth. I will certainly stop by and say hello when I buy. I've never been disappointed with my Adamant purchases, so it will be a pleasure to meet you guys. I'm hoping you will have the print version of Imperial Age, too; I've got most of the d20 pdfs, and was holding off on the True 20 to see if it would be in print at Gen Con.

Yeah I caved a while ago... damn my low Will Save ;)
I really like the look of this book. Swashbucklers have always been a favourite of mine thematically, but I never liked a lot of their mechanics and usually preferred to play a Fighter/Rogue instead. Now this looks to be the Swashbuckler I was after all along. I can't wait to actually read it (and even more so to play it!)

Still would appreciate confirmation of what I'm understanding - if I can't swing a preorder copy/I want to get it from my FLGS, can I buy it from the November release and still get the free PDF? From the sounds of it, I can using some information in the back of the book. But I just want to make sure I'm getting that right.

Yes, that's correct -- there's an offer in the back of the book for a free PDF, if you email us letting us know where you purchased it (so we can offer them some freebies) and send a pic or scan of your receipt.
...and, for anyone else reading, a reminder: Only 2 1/2 hours remain in the pre-order period!

...and there we go. Our pre-order period has now ended.
The PDF goes on sale Thursday morning, and book ships to stores in November.
Thanks for the interest, everybody -- the response has been great!
My pleasure! You can show your appreciation by emailing me a 'preview' copy of your book, or the core book....I promise I won't tell ;-)

Well, I'm glad to hear that preorders aren't the only way to do it - since I'm a little strapped with the PFRPG coming out and funds being a bit tight, I was probably going to delay until November. I like having PDFs of my books, just so that I can reference them easier, so thanks.
I look forward to hearing user reviews, too. Because I like to know what people I've never met think of something ;)

I rolled a natural 1 on my will save, so I caved in and ordered less than 2 hours from the cut off time.
Will we get notified as to when our orders are shipping?

Thanks for your order!
The orders will be shipping the week after GenCon (the week of August 17th) -- I won't be sharing your email addresses with our warehouse personnel (we share warehousing with our print partners at Cubicle 7), so no -- there will be no individual shipping notifications. In weighing privacy vs. convenience, we err on the side of privacy. :)
I will make a general email announcement to pre-order customers once I've done the hand-off to the warehouse, though, so if there's any delay or problem, you can contact me and I'll track down the issue for you.

Just my luck to log on and see this on the 10th. I would have pre-ordered. Any idea when the product description page and or price for the PDF will be available? I don't want to wait till November to get it.
I need to be able to tell my wife... "see it's only X Dollars! Totally worth it!"
buy her a Coach bag like I did. You get carte blanche to buy stuff for awhile after that
