Is Adamant based here in Lawrence?
Indeed we are.
1) Will this be soft or hardcover? 2) If I order a dead tree version from Paizo or from Adamant post 8/13 will I still get a PDF included? 3) If answer to 2 is 'no' can I order the dead tree through my FLGS?
1) Softcover
2) Yes.
3) The general release will be in November (allowing time for distributor solicitations). They should see it in their distributor catalogs in August.

Easy to do. I'm just hoping the classes are good. It would be nice to have some more options for players without resorting to reworked splat book classes / prestige classes.

I will definitely be stopping by the Adamant booth at GenCon to take a peek!
We'll actually be at the booth of our print partners, Cubicle 7 Entertainment. Look for us there!
(I've also been talking with Erik at Paizo about cross-promotion at the show, so that Pathfinder fans can find everything that's available at GenCon -- more info forthcoming on that....)
When can we see a preview? Also if we purchase at Gen Con will we be able to get the PDF at same time or will we have to purchase seperately?
I'll be posting the first previews later this week, to the "General" forum.
Folks purchasing the book at GenCon will receive a coupon code for a free download of the PDF.

Yes, I'm afraid that things here got a bit hectic, surrounding today's launch of the PDF of our Victorian-era supplement for True20, The Imperial Age, and getting the print files sent off for production.
I'll be writing up the first TOME OF SECRETS preview this weekend, and will post on Monday.
To make up for the delay, though, I'll be posting more than one preview next week!

That's what I like to hear! Double preview FTW!

While the excitement is there, I must speak honestly. I'll be looking very, very carefully at any PF support products not from Paizo. As one who was more than a little burned by careless 3.0 d20 books by folks back in the day (and have since purged such sins from my shelf) I want to be more careful.
So, count me in as one who would definatly like to see more than a few previews or commentary before jumping on board. Thanks!

This is pretty much how I feel. I -am- excited, but also want quality product worthy of "PFRPG." Kudos to everyone putting in the quality effort!

I think that the days where truckloads of crappy third-party d20 products were dumped on the market are long over. Those publishers who are still in business produce good material; market forces have killed off those that couldn't make the grade. The number of third-party products available has dropped, but the quality of those products has risen sharply.
Keep in mind that supporting the Pathfinder RPG at this point is an act of faith for publishers - nobody really knows how well the game will sell. While there is little doubt that it will do OK, there is a chance that its popularity will either drop off after the initial print run or that it will balloon into a monster hit for Paizo (my hope is the latter). In either case, the market for third-party Pathfinder products is completely untested. It would be very interesting to know how strong pre-orders for the Tome of Secrets are compared to Adamant's recent releases for 4e, True20 and Savage Tales, but I doubt that company will share that information.
I suspect that many of those publishers who choose to publish Pathfinder-compatible material will do so because they harbour a secret love for the 3.5 game system and prefer the freedom afforded by the OGL over the more restrictive terms of the GSL. Purely from a business perspective, there is little doubt that Paizo offers a better deal to third-party publishers than the most obvious alternative....

DM Jeff I'm with you but for sliglty differn't reasons, I now own so much D20 stuff, good and bad, that new stuff really has to impress. Example: Knight class, have one from R&R Excalibur, it really needs to be buffed up to Pathfinder standards, but for the most part it's what I want in a Knight. So either the class has to really impress or be good enough to combine the two.
All that being said Prime Evil is correct about 3PP flood. Moreover remeber that most of the big 3PP have house rules True20 Conan, so they may make Pathfinder stuff, but no where near what you got six to eight years ago. Smaller PDF and other Publishers if they are smart will follow the same plan, why put all their eggs in one basket when they can make stuff for other OGL rules set. This will have the effect of fewer works for 'your' prefered system, but gives you the time to find out what's good and be able to get it without it going out of print too fast. At lest this is the effect I hope will happen.

PS, by the way Prime Evil 'OGC material'? this is a new term for me, what is OGC or did you mean GSL?

Regarding Previews:
For me, the most exciting things about Paizo's continuation of the 3.5 line is the behind-the-scenes glimpses we get about the design process, playtesting, motivations, end goals, etc. that went into the PFRPG.
If I may be so bold: Third-party publishers that follow Paizo's footsteps in this regard can only aid their sales by continuing this new trend in target audience involvement. In Adamant's specific case, since the product is (presumably) already done, insights about what the design goals were and any significant... discoveries? would do well to build that ideological bridge (along with the normal Look At this Neat Stuff™ preview material).

Very good point. And let me say so far I really do want to support this book, especially because of its Pathfinder connection. A little preview will be all it takes to push me there, I bet!

That's the other thing. All the classes mentioned in this book are available in 3.5. As the PFRPG is backward compatable I should be able to use these classes with little modification from the books I already have. Or...will I? If the updates and work done for me make it worth it, sure thing I'm on board.

While many people are interested in the eight character classes, I'm more interested in the following:
- Game Master tools including a random adventure generator, a monster modifier, and a generator capable of creating over one million magic items!
If that piece is well done, it's worth the price of the entire book. It seems like a hard thing to do well. Anyone can slap together six d10 lists, so I'm hoping for something above and beyond. I'm also curious about the rules for morale and chases (both come up frequently in play), more so than the character classes.

The first preview of Tome of Secrets has been posted in the General subforum. This preview features Gerrek, the half-orc shaman.

Adamant Entertainment is pleased to announce that our first licensed product for The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game will be available via PDF and mail order, as well as at GenCon, on August the 13th, with world-wide distribution to game and book stores to follow this Fall.
The Tome of Secrets is a collection of advanced and optional rules for players and game masters, and includes:
- 8 new classes, including the Artificer, Knight, Priest, Shaman, Spellblade, Swashbuckler, Warlock and Warlord.
- Rules for character occupations (what your heroes did before they were heroes).
- A system for character drawbacks, fleshing out your heroes with flaws.
- New rules for The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, including Chases, Morale, Stunts, and more!
- Game Master tools including a random adventure generator, a monster modifier, and a generator capable of creating over one million magic items!
We're currently running a pre-order special, where customers will have the book shipped to them immediately after the go-live date, and will receive a complimentary PDF of the book emailed to them (direct from the GenCon exhibitor's hall) on the 13th!
Should a person get there the very first day into the store area.
I guess what I am asking is their a limited print run? I know I can get a PDF, which I also plan to, but I also like a actual printed copy. That is the reason I like the subscriptions so much because I am getting both for the same price. :O)

I understand the feeling *glares at the mailbox, wonders what the DC of inspire competence at the USPS is*
I hope it's going to be available later, since my leg and my window really ate on my budget.
