| Sturdy Hrolf Oleson |
Fabes, I think Hrolf is about set to go, mechanically. Just let me know if anything looks incorrect or unclear.
I did have one question, though. According to his INT score, Hrolf can know up to 3 additional languages. Does he start with those, or would those be something to study and learn later on?

Just excited to get going, all. I expect that my character will die quickly, but I hope to get mileage from the BERSERKER ability before closing the books on him. Looking over things, I'd be very willing to take the front point on a lot of things, beating and punching bad things. Nine hit points and not-so-bad AAC should help me with this goal...

I'm putting together a discussion thread for the game proper now.
Background stuff
The setting: The Moonshae Isles (from Forgotten Realms) crossed with Le Guin's Earthsea. i.e. more down to earth than FR has become. A real-world analogy would be the Hebrides or the west coast of Ireland. You can decide where you come from in the Moonshaes, whether you are a Northman, a Waelishman, or a Korrinishman (for humans). Your background determines your native language (this replaces Common, for which there is no analogue). It would be helpful if the party shared a language. I suggest that the majority of you could be either Northmen or Korrinishmen.
Languages: Korinnish (a creole from Illuskan and Waelish), Illuskan (spoken by the Northmen), Waelish (spoken by the most of the Moonshae Isles), Elven, Dwarven, Fhoi Myore (spoken by Orcs, Goblins, Ogres) - although different groups may have different dialects.
Religion: the Northmen worship the Norse gods, the Waelish worship the Celtic gods, with especial reverence for Danu, the Earthmother, (although she is known by many other names, Jannath, Melora, Chauntea etc etc), the people of the Korrin Archipelago are a practical lot and most pray to a mixture of the two deities, and some places have syncretised the gods.
Races: Humans and halflings have lived here in conjunction for so long that no-one knows of a time when the small folk weren't to be found in human society. Few people have seen an elf, although if someone displays 'un-natural' magical talents they are said to be 'alfkinder' - 'elf-child'. Thus there may be some half-elves in the isles (although the Swords and Wizardry rules don't touch on them), and some rumour elves either hidden or disguised as men. Dwarves are from the mainland Moonshaes.
(Those who've played in or read the Treasure Hunt and Twisted Night games will recognise it as the same setting)
More on Languages
Yes, you can save slots for later, as you may find other languages...

2 things:
1) Screw it, you can all have Korrinish as a bonus language. It's easier that way. :D If you are Korrinish already, then choose one of the other human languages.
2) the discussion thread proper is up when you have your PCs ready. HERE

I can see why I would return to the fishing community- it is my hometown. In addition to our common language, I also speak Illuskan. Sadly, I am broke...I could certainly lend a strong arm and imposing visage for anyone in need of protection and mayhaps a guide to the town, too...
