DM Dave |
Raoh walk up to the table Clegg is playing at. "How's everyone doing tonight", he greets the players.
"How about I go and the table some drinks, looks like we have some big spenders here".
Sense motive 1d20+4=17; Trying to discern by Cleggs body language why he's losing.
Clegg seems nervous and anxious. He also seems like he is trying to avoid attention. Clegg seems slightly startled by your approach, but recovers quickly. "Don't bother," He says, looking around, "I was just leaving." He turns and heads toward the door, then turns back and hands Raoh a large pouch. "For you and your friends, with my complements." Then he leaves and walks out of the Gold Goblin.
Bron Islar |
sorry for not posting the past couple days... work has been crazy and havent had very much online time... should be good now though
Heading over to Raoh, Bron eyes seem to lite up as he spot the bag in his hands What was that about? He asked. Then looking down at the bag he asks So whats in there with a nod inthe bags direction
Raoh |
"You don't see something like this everyday", smirks as he reaches for his blade, "Gotta ask yourself how such a large thing was able to get in here."
"So I don't see a need to kill the poor thing. I think the tree of us can restrain it and release it somewhere safer outside of town. Maybe Branth would know a good place to let it go"
Caladan Delathia |
"Violence... You really are a man of faith" Raoh casts a glance to the holy man, "Not the snakes fault if it hurt someone"
Caladan nods his agreement to Raoh. "I'll see what I can do," he murmurs as he steps forward, staring intently at the snake. "Why don't you see to the maid's injuries?" he suggests to Uathach.
I'll try and calm the snake and hopefully persuade it to let me pick it up and remove it from the town.
Wild empathy to calm snake. (d20 +1 for level -1 for stat) (1d20=19)
Caladan Delathia |
Caladan manages to calm the snake down and remove it from the building. As he is carrying the snake out of town he realizes that this breed of snake is not native to this region and must have been brought here by someone.
Caladan takes the snake a fair distance from the town, trying to find an area as close as possible to its natural habitat. As he returns to the gambling house, he frowns slightly to himself. These city people have no respect. he thinks Dragging innocent animals into their schemes. I bet they thought we'd end up killing the poor thing...
Caladan Delathia |
"How'd it go with snake, give ya any trouble" Roah asks as Caladan returns
"She was fine," assures Caladan, "I left her down the coast a little way, I hope she'll be ok - that breed is not native to this area. Clearly someone went to quite a bit of trouble to give us quite a bit of trouble."
"How is she?" he asks Uathach, indicating the injured maid.
Raoh |
Seeing that his companions have everything under control Bron heads back over to Roah while sheathing his dagger and says "So how bout that bag of gold from whats his name?
"Not sure, but it's too much of a coincidence for him to hand these to me and than the snake happen." he shakes his head "Let's focus on who or how the snake was brought in. After that we can worry about the coins"
Raoh pauses a moment "Was anyone else observing Clegg? The man was losing at the table, but the kicker is that he was losing on purpose"
"Not native, huh? How not native are we talking? Not from Varisia, a completely different continent?"
Caladan Delathia |
"Not native, huh? How not native are we talking? Not from Varisia, a completely different continent?"
Knowledge (Nature) check to answer Raoh's question. (1d20+4= 7)
"I don't really know, I'm afraid. All I do know is that I wouldnt expect to find one of her kind around here."
Bron Islar |
"I'm for whatever you guys want to do" Bron says indifferently. His mind not on the task at hand and his thoughts begin to trail off. Then his thoughts fall upon the pouch of gold and every now and then he glances at it and silently wonders if Roah is trying to swindle everyone out of their gold. He quickly shakes his head to clear the thought, Roah wouldnt do that.
Coming back to reality Bron looks around at the group after a few moments have past and says " So what are we going to do... a little info gathering on this Clegg character"
Caladan Delathia |

Pondering the next course of action Caladan looks over to Raoh, to see what he thinks of the idea.
Uathach of Iomedae |
Uathach tries to bring her around, putting the note in his belt for now.
Once she comes around..."There now m'dear you're safe the snake is gone, did the snake attack you or were you assaulted so the snake could be put here?"
After I'm done talking to her, I take the note to Saul...
"Looks like you have an enemy..."
Uathach of Iomedae |
"True, but then again we did not attack Clegg."
"Neutral ground, let's keep it as an option and extend the invitation to Clegg to come here, I'm not keen on an ambush anywhere, Clegg's or elsewhere...this is our bastion, outside here, we can't hope to keep conditions secure."
"I shall pen an invitation if Saul is open to the meeting."
Caladan Delathia |

"I shall pen an invitation if Saul is open to the meeting."
"I don't know that we can really be sure that Clegg attacked us, in fact all he did was give us a pouch of gold," Caladan says quietly. "Personally, I'd prefer we just drop in unannounced - he can hardly have an ambush prepared then, plus Uathach, Branth, Raoh all seem pretty accomplished warriors - I don't think we have very much to fear."
"If he was involved in planting the snake, it's a stronger response than inviting him to a meeting. If he wasnt involved - well, we havent really accused him of anything, have we?"
DM Dave |
Saul nods as he listens to all the discussion. "Clegg's headquarters is a fortress, if you go there you may never come back," Sauls says. "I also do not see him agreeing to a truce," Saul sighs, "he believes a blood feud exists between us. You see, a few years back my son accidently killed his brother in a fit of anger."
Branth Bummugboar |
During all of the hullaballo about the snake in the kitchen, Branth has remained posted at the door, doing her bouncerly duties.
I'm assuming she saw Caladan leave with the snake or perhaps only return if he took it out a back door, and has an idea of what has transpired, but she's keeping a watch on the main room for anything suspicious
