Great, thanks. Are we in rounds yet?

Not quite as reckless as he may sometimes appear, Bogorin stops so the others can catch up and allows Herve to form a shield wall with him.

Still, he can't help but yell with true rage and frustration "I'VE A CURE FER YER HEADACHE RIGHT HERE YA STINKIN PILE O RAT DUNG! COME ON AN GIT IT!"

Not yet but make Perception checks please all of you

Male Taldan Aristocrat 4

Herve is still back at the junction . He asked Bogorin to come back ...

Female Human (Chelish) Commoner 1/Ranger 2

Perception : 18

Perception (1d20+3=7)

it looks to me that if we are all back at the junction we'll be too bunched up and Tenna might not have a straight shot down the hall, or at least not as long of a one

Male Half - Elf Warrior/Ranger* (1/2)

Perception (sight/sound) check (1d20+6=26)

Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5

Perception: 1d20+6=22

We'll be even more cramped in a tunnel . My way with a little luck , 4 of us will be able to strke on contact , your way there only would be 2

I think strategy stuff should be discussed in the OOC, so let's take it there. I Think this is it HERE

Whilst you're discussing things I'll post this map I know its a mite rubbish but it'll do for starters

Enter the Ogre

"Let me at 'em" hollers the Ogre from somewhere around the corner and then the pile of wooden logs in front of you literally bursts as a gigantic wolf strides out of the mess to confront you!

Let me know if you want to shift positions I'll try and get a better up at some point but for now I have you listed as follows;

Herve I4
Bogorin H5
Talden K3
Tenna J2
Willy M2

Visible enemies:
Wolf B4

Posted my ideas on strategy for the battle in the OOC. go ahead an take a gander ;-)

Male Taldan Aristocrat 4

Initiative 15

Okay have the new map up let me know where your character is on it and we'll go from there

The Fight part 1

So far;

Initiative Order:
Herve 15

Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5

Initiative: 1d20+1=5

Will will start the round at the rear in J4. He will move to the front on his initiative.

"Wuf! Shoot it!"

Male Half - Elf Warrior/Ranger* (1/2)

Initiative Check (1d20+6=26)

Initiative:1d20=13

Bogoron is where I posted in the OOC

Female Human (Chelish) Commoner 1/Ranger 2

Initiative: 4!

Tenna will move to K2, readying her bow with the bane arrow first and looking for a clean shot at the ogre.

Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5

A liitle bit confused there. Willy will start the round at M2 where you put him hopeless then double-move to I4 on his initiative.

Male Half - Elf Warrior/Ranger* (1/2)

Talden starts at J5 and will move to G10 and attack the wolf with his axe.

Melee attack with battle axe against wolf at G11 (1d20+4=11, 1d8+2=10)

I think that might only work Talden if you beat the wolf's initiative, no? Plus, with that move you'd be singling yourself out from the rest of us and opening yoirself up to being flanked by the wolf and the Ogre. Remember, it's Large wolf...

Good point. I'll probably delay my action and just move up next to you and Herve so that we can provide a nice shield wall.

Scratch the previous action! Lets wait to see what happens with the wolf and ogre!

Sorry for the delay got a bit confused so here goes!

The Fight (positions)

Let me know if you want to change where you're standing

Initiative Order:
Talden 26
Herve 15
Bogorin 13
Dire Wolf 12
Ogre 9
Willy 5
Tenna 4

Following the taunting from Bogorin the Ogre issues its reply and awakened by the yells of both a dire wolf has burst forth from the pen it had been hidden from your view and confronts the party before it!

For purposes of initiative both the dire wolf and the ogre have had their turn so the party gets a free round before they get to act next round

Male Half - Elf Warrior/Ranger* (1/2)

Move to G10 and melee attack against wolf with battleax (1d20+4=9, 1d8+2=4)

Male Taldan Aristocrat 4

Guess Herve will move to E7 drawing his longspear and setting it against a charge from the ogre .
He will fight defensively and put his dodge and combat expertise feats against the ogre putting his AC to 23 .

'Finish the wolf ! '

Hopeless , if the wolf and the ogre are large , they should occupy four cases . also if the acted just before us , they should both have an initiative higher than us

Thanks to the dwarf's taunts the dire wolf burst out of its pen which I ruled as its entire action for this round, but the ogre on the other hand will only reach the point where he's marked once your fight with the dire wolf is over since he won't want to interfere with his pet's "fun" and yes you can change your action

The Fight part 1a

I'll change this if you want to change your action

Talden axe swing misses even as Herve rushes to intercept the approaching ogre.

Herve:

Spoiler:
What you can see is the Ogre's shadow more or less indicating he's waiting somewhere out of sight and is simply waiting and given whats just burst free from its pen it doesn't take much to realise he's letting his pet have its "fun" first before coming in to check on the proceedings

Male Taldan Aristocrat 4

That's all right, my action stay the same

Oh well, so much for strategy I guess :P Oh, and Hopeless, I just realized that none of us have movement stats posted in our char sheets. Is this something we need to worry about too much? Until you say otherwise, since we haven't been using it, I'll just keep it that way

Seeing the fight beginning to take place away from him, Bogorin roars "Oh no ye don't! I mean ta bash me some more skulls!" As he charges into the battle with the wolf alongside Talden he swings (1d20+4=5) his mighty warhammer in a powerful blow. Which unfortunately his mistimes as it goes crashing into the ground instead, almost causing the embarrassed dwarf to lose his grip on his weapon!

Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5

Seeing the others go after the wolf, Willy will move to take on the ogre.

Double-move to E8

Female Human (Chelish) Commoner 1/Ranger 2

"Damn!" Tenna cursed as she quickly shoved the special arrow back into her quiver. Things weren't moving like she had expected. She bolted forward and stopped well behind the others, trying to nock another arrow and take aim at the wolf. Have to take it down quick! Can't be fightin' both at the same time!

She was painfully conscious of the scar on her mouth as she let the arrow fly. She wasn't going to let another of those curs that close to her again. Still, the memory had her fingers shaking...

Moving to H7
Ranged Attack: 5
Damage: 9

Okay assume you can move 1 square for every 5' of movement so Willy you've only had to make a standard move to get where you are but you and Herve can see the Ogre's shadow as he's now lounging out of sight laughing at the dwarf's curses

The Fight end of round 1

With Herve and Willy focused on facing the Ogre who isn't even bothering to come round the corner into sight at the moment Bogorin and Talden engage the dire wolf in melee as Tenna tries to help firing arrows at it.

Bogorin if you could confirm if thats where you want to be before i start off the second round with Talden?

yup, that works :)

Male Half - Elf Warrior/Ranger* (1/2)

Melee attack against dire wolf with battle axe (1d20+4=22, 1d8+2=9)

Male Taldan Aristocrat 4

'Willy ,I said ... no, forget it ,it's no use with you'

With this , Herve will continue his 'combat defensively' action

Talden Skard wrote:

That caught the wolf's attention as it glares down at you as your axe slashes into it!

As he steps 5' to try and flank the beast with Talden, Bogorin yells "Laugh at me will ya! Well see then how yer puppy 'ere likes This!" Bogorin as he once again swings (1d20+4=22) at the big wolf, this time landing a solid blow (1d8+2=7) (+1 if flanking) which hits with a loud smack on the wolf's large skull.

"Hey! Yer right! That Is funny!" Bogorin continues to taunt the Ogre

The Ogre snarls in response as the wolf infuriated by the attacks leaps over the pair straight at Tenna!

Both Bogorin and Talden can make an attack of opportunity each before it attacks Tenna

Male Half - Elf Warrior/Ranger* (1/2)

Attack of opportunity with battle ax against dire wolf (1d20+4=20, 1d8+2=5)

As the wolf leaps over Bogorin he yells out "Oh no ye don't puppy!" as he tries to smash (1d20+4=23, 1d8+2=8) the beasts thigh, attempting to hobble it.

No worries

The Fight round 2

The wolf tries to leap over Bogorin and Talden but quick action by them floors the beat before it can reach Tenna!

Female Human (Chelish) Commoner 1/Ranger 2

"Thank the gods!" Tenna exclaimed without realizing it as she loosed her arrow at the wolf that had just been stopped from charging her.

The wolf was tumbling past Talden and Bogo and got stopped but is not dead, right?

Ranged Attack: 13
Damage: 5

Tenna Milcress wrote:

It tried to leap past them but failed

"Have a helping hand," a familiar voice reaches Tenna's ears as a hand reaches past to touch her shoulder.
Brallin casts Guidance on Tenna granting her +1 to her attack
Her arrow launched after his touch almost makes her think she's let loose too soon, but as she does Bogorin and Talden's blows cause it to fall short as it falls straight back into the path of the arrow that hits solidly...

Willy's turn then a new round and if it goes as well as this the Ogre will be making its appearance the round after...

Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5

Or sooner...

Willy lets out a roar and charges the ogre, and deals it a mighty downward hack with his axe.

Attack, charging, raging: 1d20+10=23
Damage, raging Overhand Chop: 1d12+12=17

-4 to AC

"That's der Spirit boy! You show that Ogre who's da boss!" Bogroin yells out loudly

Hopeless, I'm still not clear, is the wolf dead or not?

Regardless, Bogorin has had enough of dealing with some animal. He yells a dwarvish battle cry and charges in to help Willy against the creature Bogorin blames for taking his dear girl "Where's mi Dale ye flea bitten maggot! If'n ye've harmed one hair o' her head I'll...I'll Arrrrghhhh!" Speechless with rage, the mad dwarf lays his hammer into the Ogre. 1d20+4=20, 1d8+2=3

Bogorin gets +4AC vs Giant type which I believe Ogre's qualify as?

Male Taldan Aristocrat 4

Guys you are aware that there will be two ooc there , one from the ogre against willy and one from the wolf against Bogorin ?

Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5

A charge does not provoke an ooc, at least not against the opponent being charged.

Nope , but the ogre is large and he has reach ...

Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5

True 'nuff :). Reach is reach, charging or not ya gotta get through that square.

Nope and if you try that charge it will get an OOC on you but that isn't the real problem but thats what you and Herve are about to find out.
