All - apologies. I am working to get back into things. I don't know if it is age or what but time dilation is getting to me. Suddenly I blink and I haven't posted in six weeks. I can honestly say it has been a very busy six weeks, but I do hope to do better.
I know the feeling ;-(

Woot! also glad to hear you are ok after a friendly visit from a named storm.
Right now I'm glad I no longer live in Florida. (I lived there for a year after Katrina. Sarasota, just south of Tampa) ;) I would NOT be looking forward to that one either.
Thinking happy thoughts and prayers for some friends i still have over there.

So Hurricane Fiona just passed over my part of the world, we got out pretty lucky in my part of Nova Scotia, quite a few weren't as lucky, but I had no downed trees and no flooding.
Glad things went OK Guy. My relatives on Cape Breton made it out OK minus a few downed trees.

I'm glad for everyone's safety!
prayers and well-wishes to a speedy recovery for all affected, by the storms.
(I was 'katrina-ed' which is now apparently a verb. I understand!) ;P
(OK Nova Scotia I have a clue as to the whereabouts without googling, but Honestly, I'm not sure where Cape Breton is. Time to mapquest!) :)

The Northern part of Nova Scotia, Cape Breton, has the fortress of Louisbourg, which was France's Eastern most fortress in North America, and the southern part of Nova Scotia was Acadia which had the biggest population of Acadians around a place called Port-Royal. There were pockets all over Atlantic Canada of course, from New Brunswick to PEI, but Port-Royal was where the French initially settled and the people living there would eventually become the Acadians. The people around Louisbourg were decidedly French, many of them were only a generation at most removed from France, but the Acadians had been living in North America for over a 100 years before the expulsion and so many of them found France as alien as we might find Australia. That's why many choose to stay in North America.

On the subject of buying a Sigil-tuned Portal stone,
I researched and re-discovered that the 3 pairs of Goggles of Night we purchased are normal priced at 12K each. (we paid 11K each due to bulk discount and kind GM) ;)
How much can we get for selling them?
Justin is willing to part with his pair (as fond as he is of all his magical trinkets and toys) especially if it means getting a Portal Stone to escape "Certain Doom" in the probably near future! :)
If we can get near full price for his pair, then no one else has to give up anything else or GP to get the portal stone.
If we can only get 'the usual' selling price of half, then someone else may need to part with their pair (or something of similar value) to make up the extra.
I'm just saying, when the GM 'kindly' drops a hint that we MAY want/need a portal stone, we may wanna take the hint. Just sayin'. ;)
EDIT-Oh yeah, and GM reminded us a page back that we still owe Renkar for some prior shopping money. (Although I dont have a note of how much) so we may need to re-sell some of our other loot/magic items anyway? :)
Ante up folks! Poor wizard doesn't much like the thought of being stranded somewhere nasty, with even nastier beings closing in on us, if we can avoid it! ;)

Patrick Curtin wrote:Well worth a journey, the scenery is amazing. Plus the area has a Louisiana tie-in, as Nova Scotia was once ‘Arcadia’, until the French colonists were taken off their lands and unceremoniously plunked down in Louisiana (thus Arcadian became ’Cajun’)For reference
It's a good song but not exactly correct, the Pains of Abraham took place after the expulsion, not before it, and the reason given for the expulsion was securing the flank as England geared up for the final push into Quebec.

I get the sense Pat is as busy as the rest of us are :-)
I have been sadly. I really want to get back into posting, but the new job is absorbing a ridiculous amount of bandwidth, and my second job, though mentally easier, takes up most of my evenings. Add to that being thrust back into the ‘man of the house’ role ( something I haven’t had since 2015) and finding time to craft narrative is difficult
THAT BEING SAID ….
I really don’t want to stop. I think this game (and my others) are a lot of fun. I’d hate to see them die. Please stay tuned, and I will work on getting things put together again during the slower holiday season.

Well, at least that sounds like "good" busy, as opposed to the evil alternative universe version. :)
I agree! These games ARE a lot if fun! I'd hate to see them go to the PbP graveyard! So many good stories told! (And yet to be I'm sure) ;)
Worry not, I'll be here when you are! :)
(MOST of me at any rate. If I can get my Dr to stop removing parts and pieces!) ;P
Everyone have a great rest of your week!

Understood Pat, I am looking at Spring of 2023 to revive my online Vampire PbP, after almost 1 and 1/2 years of torpor! Between the new business and the soon to be born new baby (not to mention worldwide Armageddon and then the aftermath), it's been a crazy few years.
Sometimes life just gets in the way. I had to abandon a table top D&D campaign last year only 60% of the way through (for various reasons) but my table top Vampire game has been going strong (it's not as susceptible to player no shows and last minute cancellations screwing up a gaming session). This is the first time since High School I scrapped a campaign.
We will be here when you are ready to tap that pause button and start once more :-)

Oh my gosh, has it been that long since I said hello?
HELLO! :)
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, and has a Happy new Year!
So sorry for my absence, busy at work, still recovering, and got talked into another musical.
(HOW I manage to do these and still keep my job is beyond my mortal ken) ;P
See you all in the New Year!
May it be better than the old one. (Even if it was good for you! May it still be better!) ;)
See ya soon, I hope!

Storyteller Shadow |

Well, 2022 may have ben the first year that was good/great or at least better than anticipated since 2015 so that's something!
Happy New Year to everyone, may Pat (and myself) start back our games in 2023 with some semblance of consistency :-)

Hello everyone
As you might have noticed, I have been absent from the boards for an extended period of time. There are many and sundry reasons for this - some legitimate, some ... not. Although I have not been posting, that doesn't mean that I have forgotten about these games. Believe that. Not a day goes by when I don't think of them, or some cool thing I can do in them.
This is yet another attempt to get posting again. I am declaring my intention, and I will post something small and innocuous today to get things rolling. I hope that everyone is doing well in 2023, and I hope our game can go forward.

Hey Pat, good to see you.
My son will be born next week so I'll be a bit absent for a while with all of that taking place. Assume Hamar looks like he is brooding but listening and watching everything intently!

Ragadolf |

VERY Cool shadow! And congrats indeed!
Waiting to hear all good news and healthy baby stats! :)
Hello all!
YAY! I see a monkey icon!
Glad you're still around Pat!
I have also been busy,
Some legitimate, some not so much :P
SO glad to see action in my fave threads!
I AM still going slowly insane, but will be happy to try and keep up with games as they start rolling again!
( a certain wizzie in one thread could do with a little less talking time anyway. Keep him from getting into MORE trouble!) ;P
See you all in the game(s)
