The Month of Logue!

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Figured I might as well stroke Nic's ego here, as well as enlighten those who have never played or read one of his adventures. (Yeah, like that is a possibility).

Two great adventures have come out this month. Pathfinder #3 "Hook Mountain Massacure" by Nicolas Logue, and "Hell's Heart" the third instaulment of the Eberron trilogy that I call "The Fall of Viktor Saint-Damien."

While most of us have already been waiting for Nic's wonderful Hook Mountain Massacure, with good reason. Let me suggest, if you haven't already, to download "Hell's Heart." His Eberron trilogy is probably one of the best pieces of work I have seen for a very long time when it comes to a D&D adventure that revolves around plot and story, rather then hack n slash and treasure finding.

I know this month will be filled with Nicolas Logue at my gaming table, as we tackle both these great adventures. So I hope you'll join with me in raising a toast to Nicolas Logue for writing such great adventures. Here's to his pen never running out of ink, and his imagination never becoming dull.

Thank you Nic, and I look forward to more of your work on both Pathfinder Chronicles, and the Eberron Setting.

Nick rocks!!! Fixin' to run "Voyage of the Golden Dragon" in my Eberron campaign soon.

Before one were to go out and pick up the two back issues needed, one might want to know how hard it would be to fit his trilogy into a non-Eberron campaign?

I think it would be doable.... but the first one did involve a Lightning Rail sabotage/crash as a part of the story... so you would have to replace that with crashing ships in a harbor or river?

Actually, replace the out of control Lightning Rail crashing into the station with an out of control fireship crashing into the dock, and it would work pretty well.

In any case, if you search the boards of Chimes at Midnight (the name of the first adventure) there were threads about converting it to non-eberron settings. But even from scratch, it shouldn't be too much work.

EDIT:

This was a thread Nick posted on himself about how to convert it to non-eberron settings.

And in case you couldn't tell, I highly reccomend this adventure. It was just awesome to read through and play.

well, this is just sickening

I'm running the Chimes At Midnight arc in my own horror/mystery campaign set in some city that some English guy came up with. Starting Chimes tonight; I'm planning on altering a few things but it's a slightly more technologically advanced setting with a steam powered train, so there aren't a lot of changes that I've had to make.

Spoiler:
I'm planning on introducing stories about Victor at a dinner event held by a merchant that the PCs have worked for (Aubrek from Salvage Operation), who was also one of the financiers on the Styes Reaper Clock refurbishing. It's also a chance to meet Councillor Thornwell for the first time, build up some enmity toward St. Demain and his superior reputation, etc. The actual opening ceremony for the clock will be interrupted by the Prisoners on Parade event, giving the PCs a chance at some fame themselves.

The more Eberron specific stuff I may just end up filing off the serial numbers (Mange referred to as a lycanthrope, since I figure most people don't really know how much more powerful a true werewolf/rat/boar/bear/ferret would be; Vrinn is a "mirrorkin" wanted by Councillor Rashlen for unspecified reasons rather than the Tyrants, etc.). Warforged are another matter; in later adventures I may just describe them as freakish half-golem creatures. In Hell's Heart, I plan on replacing the Warforged with Auraluna Dromdal from Shut-In and Mako may end up as an NPC I came up with. The Raven will also be someone the PCs have met before. Should be fun.

I feel for you Richard, for I do love thee and thy work. You have a wonderful, dark vision for role playing.

Logue! Your dark visi....err...humor! And..........sick-twistedness is something I appreciate! Go Hook Mountain! Go Logue!

Oh and James Keegan! Update thine campaign journal or I shall keep following you to the ends of the boards!

LoL, don't worry Rich you're still one of my favorites too. Hmm reminds me I still send that picture from that italian restraunt at GenCon to everyone that was there.

** spoiler omitted **

If I have to wait until I'm as cool as Erik, well I don't think I'll live long enough - he's one cool f@!&ing cat man. He IS D&D right now as far I'm concerned. I'll never have my day Yasha!!!

You will Logue...it'll just be a day of Half-Elves with great mustaches.

Bah! The month of logue is nought but a blink of the eye during the Year Of The Pett!

Spoiler:
Having said that, the two first Viktor adventures were great, and I can't wait until our Pathfinder PbM campaign gets to Hook Mountain. Even though it is probably just populated by whimsical, dancing fey.

Liberty's Edge

Spoiler:

I can wait ... I heard a rumour that those mountain guys do extra nasty things with ogre hooks... and my character is delicate.

Liberty's Edge

The first guy I see with a banjo is gonna get it right between the eyes.

::Nick quietly hides his banjo::

Awweeeee, and the banjo boy was one of the innocuous people. I'd be wary of those wielding plungers and axel grease.
