Thanks for being patient.
After spending a few days unloading supplies at Cloud Reaver Citadel, the Windbreaker is finally ready to cast off and make for Fort Low. Unfortunatly, Jed seems to have dissapeared and Ashur has contracted a wasting sickness that has left him bed ridden and dying. Captian Belovure sends out a call for a healer.
Later that day a tall woman with brown hair and green eyes arrives at the docks. She is dressed in roughspun clothes of brown, green, and grey. She carries a satchel bag and a walking stick. She has an earthy aroma, the smell of fresh cut flowers and tilled soil, about her. She introduces herself as Narcissa Blume, the Grey Witch of Cear Hallen.
She offers to treat the druids illness in exchange for passage to Fort Low. Already behind schedule, Captain Belovure agrees and orders the zepplin to depart.
You should reach Fort Low and begin the overland journey to Wheatfield in about a week.
Dahak Ironheart |
Seemingly sullen and withdrawn for most of the trip, I don't begin to comprehend the loss of one of my companions, nor the illness of the other. Instead I simply stare into the infinite distance of the stars, watching the sky for dragonsign, and continue the laborius work of inticately carving my own mithril flesh.
When the female presents herself to the group, I approach her, and with head tilted to one side, and ask, "Has Lady Blume perhaps met the dragon, Zeranthex?"
Dahak spent much of the trip studying how the 'meatbags' communicate with eachother, and this is an effort to seem more polite.
Revan Del Rey |
Spending most of the journey trying to practice my more questionable arts, I hardly notice when some of the others seem to disappear from the scene, not having known them long enough to really care in the first place.
When the newcomer introduces herself, I eye her up and down as usual. To my disappointment, I decide once again that she's not my "type," and so I barely pay her much mind, giving her a rather halfassed welcome before returning to my own devices.
Narcissa "Cissi" Blume |
Lounging in the shadow of a wall I nod, unsmiling to the newcomer.
"I am Myrkar. You say you're a practicioner of the arcane arts? I myself am a disciple of eldritch power. What branch of the art do you study?" I ask, trying to size this newcomer up.
I study transmutation, abjuration, enchantment and a tad bit of healing. She says as she smiles.

After nearly a week of travel, the large mass of the Corbrian Plateu rises from the horizon. As the ship gets closer, you can make out the structure of Fort Low. A fire burns in the inner baily and smoke pours from every window. Bodies litter the ground in and around the fort.
Captian Belovure looks grimly on the scene, "We should land and look for survivors. What could have done this?"
Dahak Ironheart |
Anyone who looks at Dahak sees the fire light reflecting in his eyes like the sparkle of a child's on christmas morn. If hammered iron and polished mithril would fllex, his grin would stretch ear to ear.
I answer the captain excitedly, "Dragon!"
Then move to the rail, ready to jump to the ground as soon as it is reasonably safe to do so. (if there is a rope, I will use that to stretch reasonable yet further, but either way, I am willing to risk up to 2d6 of damage to be the first on the ground)
Myrkar |
I stare forward for a moment and furrow my brow concentrating. A shroud of black shadow surrounds me and forms into wings as I leap over the edge of the ship after telling the captain to hold his position for a short while. I soar across the plateau and circle the burning fort, looking for anything important.
Spot 19 (19+0)
Narcissa "Cissi" Blume |
Cissi looks up at the sky as a raven flies to her. He has feathers as white as snow and eyes as red as blood. He lands softly on her arm. Armande, my dear friend, she says in Draconic, please fly over the area and see if you see anything that might have caused the fire. Then come tell me. And with that Armande flies off. Cissi waits patiently for his return.

Myrkar
A human sized creature rises from the ruined building. It has a humped back and long, thin limbs and fingers. It's face is covered in a black mask.
Roll Init. Myrkar gets a +2 for making the spot check.
Vissigoth |
Init order:
Laucian 21
Myrkar 17
Revan 14
Monster 13
Narcissa 5
Dahak 3
The deck of the ship is 20ft. from the ground. The monster is 60ft. above the ground and 40ft. directly north of the bow of the ship. The ship is 40ft. long. I am assuming that anyone still on the ship is in the middle and roughly 60ft. from the monster. Myrkar is 50ft. directly above the monster and yes, you see a lot of human bodies.
It is Laucian's turn. After that I will resolve Myrkar's attack unless she wants to change her action. Just to speed things up, this monster has SR, so remember to roll your caster level check if you cast a spell.
Sorry this is going so slow.
Vissigoth |
Revan is delaying his action.
The monster points a foot long rod of crystal at Myrkar. A blast of freezing energy burst from the tip of the rod and strikes Myrkar.
Myrkar takes 6 points of Cold damage (Fortitude save for half) and must make a Stregth check or be pushed back 10 feet (5 feet if you make your Fort save).
It's now Narssica's turn
Narcissa "Cissi" Blume |
Cissi takes out a tiny bag and candle then sits on the ground in front her. She then starts to move her hands in a percise pattern, as she does so she whispers an incantation. Light starts to swirl around just in front of her. Then a regal silvery eagle appears from the lights and hovers above her.
Cissi is casting Summon Monster II. The monster she summoning is a celestial eagle.
Myrkar |
I curse as I'm pushed back into the air and I feel a chill spreading over me. I snarl, trying to remember if I've heard of anything like this as I send another blast of energy at the creature.
On my turn...
Caster level check 24 (17+7)
Knowledge (Arcana) 21 (15+6)
Knowledge (the Planes) 21 (16+5)
Knowledge (Religion) 6 (3+3)
Touch attack 21 (13+8)
Damage 17 (6+4+4+2+1)

My deepest apologies to one and all, due to some major changes in my living situation, I've recently lost my computer and internet access. I'm posting this from a friend's computer right now, so I highly doubt I'll be able to do any posts within the foreseeable future. I'd really like to extend my thanks to you Vissigoth, for letting me be a part of things, and I'm extremely sorry for having to drop out like this.
Thanks again for letting me join in the fun, and good luck to everyone.
