Snap! There goes my idea of the country-bumpkin Ranger/Fighter, aiming towards Horselord ^_^

For the record, I despise mounted combat, and would prefer not to deal with it. Besides, horses don't take well to caves and dungeons (which may or may not be in the campaign's future...).

But yes, if the players have anything they'd like to see added to the party, by all means speak up! Honestly, another cleric wouldn't be so bad.

Yeah, I had forgotten that you didn't like mounts so much until I reviewed the threads.

I might have to take some cleric dips; I don't particularly feel like playing a paladin, but I need a class that has Diplomacy (I was going with the 'caravan guard leader who was ambushed' idea, but Fighter doesn't get jack in terms of skills).

*hangs head* I'm so sorry guys. My life has been a mess for the past few weeks. I believe much of it will be better in the next few days. If you would allow, I would be glad to rejoin my duties. If not, especially after my notable absence, I would certainly understand.

I think FS runs a fine game and truly feel no ill feelings either way.

I should be able to post this weekend (not tonight though) and about 1/day for this coming week. Assuming things get better as it looks like they might I would be fine after that as well. If not, I would certainly communicate better than I have in these past weeks.

Again my apologies. Seems I have many of those to make right now...

Ah, cool deal. Looks like you need me not, then. Steps back.

Hey, no problem. Glad to have you back with us. We would, of course, welcome you back to the game! I just hadn't heard from you in a long while (since July) and thought maybe you had taken a leave of the boards. It's good to hear things are settling down for you. Hope to hear more from you soon.

Not as many as Fatey does for not putting enough mayo on my sandwich. Sure, sure, fabulous DM, but ask him to make you a sandwich, noooo...

Thanks for the smile Pickwick. though I must admit that I think mayo in any of it's forms is more than a little repulsive. *shudder* :)

Sorry to keep y'all waiting. I've finally posted (though I'm out of practice so may have rambled a bit. I should be fine to post except for the end of this week. Those of you following the 'Things in life that suck' thread know that I have to go to a funeral for my mother in law this weekend. What you wouldn't know is that it is in an area with no computer access. Argh! Truth is I'm not sure yet what days we will be gone and I might be able to sneak on for a minute here or there but I can't promise. We might not even be leaving until Friday so it may not matter, but hey--overcommunication is better than the *no* commuication I did for a few weeks.

Onward friends. Let us discover these interlopers and, should it (as is likely) prove necessary, eradicate them. :)

Why do I keep forgetting this thread exists? Must...save...to...favorites...

Riann has recently suffered some rather heinous injury. Remember when the orcs flanked Thelen and rang his armor like a Chinese gong? Remember when I said 'Holy crap you are lucky?' That was a hint. ;)

These guys can hurt you.

Yeah, I took it as intended...then did the Paladinish thing and stood there and scoffed at them and their 'feeble ways'. I might get paid back for that, but hopefully not.

By the way, did the days change during our short rest? Just curious if I have any lay on hands or smite evil ability renewed yet? I suspect not, but I was hoping. :)

If I had a round free I could heal check riann to stable and heal 1d6 with my skill trick, but I suspect fighting is my best option at this point. Hang in there Riann!!

Negative. The faithful of Lathander replenish their abilities and spells at dawn, still some 5 hours away.

yeah, yeah, yeah. I get that. I just thought with Lathander being so cool and all... ;)

Consider it a trial of devotion. ;) Even when His Grace cannot aid you via your class abilities, you still retain your faith and devotion to His greater glory and all that jazz.

Meh... she's got 7 rounds to stabilize on her own. If this thing doesn't end in 7 rounds we're probably ALL toast. If she survives that long there are always heal checks to stabilize, natural healing overnight and spells. :P

Although maybe I should start brainstorming new character concepts just in case, eh? ;)

See the things that suck item to see why I missed out on the last exchange. Short version is that I was in the hospital and am now working on recovery. thanks for helping me out Fatespinner.

I am very dizzy still so can't look at a screen for long at a time but I will try to keep up. Hopefully I will be virtually all better in a few more days but there's no way to tell.

thank you all for your patience. This has been an amazingly challenging few months. I really like this game and plan to continue it as long as it goes. Thanks.

No problem, man. I completely understand. I hope things start getting better for you. I plan to keep the game going as long as it has steam, which should hopefully be quite awhile! Welcome back.

I find it amusing that Riann is always considering stealthy options when Aynsley is the only character with any ranks in Hide or Move Silently.

RIANN'S not going anywhere. She doesn't have the ranks in Hide or Move Silently, but anyone with an intelligence above 8 should be able to say, "Oh look, our enemy is OVER THERE. Perhaps someone should sneak over and take a peek so we know what we're dealing with."

Oh, I understand what you're getting at. I just think it's funny that Aynsley is the only character with stealth abilities (not including Anain's invisibility). It's like, someone says:

"We should sneak over there and check things out!"
"Yeah!"
"Agreed, great idea!"
All eyes settle on Aynsley. She nervously glances at everyone.
"...what?!?"

I'm sorry to hear that things have been so difficult for you lately. How are you doing now?

Thanks for asking. I'm doing a bit better. Still somewhat dizzy and have a medium sized headache. And I hate the insurance companies. Other than that, I seem to be ok.

The new job is keeping me insanely busy. But the job is a *great* thing.

We've got what it takes to keep what we've got... and make OTHERS pay for it! :D

New job? What do you do, if you don't mind me asking?

Well, as of a few weeks ago I am the (drum roll)...new VP Operations for a $10MM installation services vendor for Home Depot. It's not as cool as it sounds though it a. someday could be and b. is far cooler than anything I have done to this point. Basically we either install, provide and install, or sell, provide, and install (depending on which project type it is) different home improvements for The Home Depot as a service provider.

Congratulations! Sounds cool to me; you'll have minions of your very own... :D

That made me smile. The favorite D&D bumber sticker I have ever seen/wanted began "Wanted: Minions" and then went on to explain the requirements. I would still love to have that. My wife couldn't find it at the time and got me the one that says, "Chaotic evil means never having to say you're sorry." which also seemed somehow appropriate. :)

Reminds me of a shirt/sticker I've always wanted: "Cult leader looking for followers" kekeke. ;)

Aynsley's player (my wife) has been out of town for the last couple of weeks, but I was hoping she could keep up with us. I'll send her an e-mail.
