Shadow Lodge

Mine is an Eberron Horror campaign, taking place almost solely in Karrnath.

Kalashtar Soulknife (Future PrC - Illumine Soul) Level 2
Githzerai Swordsage (will be going into Monk) Level 1
Elven Ranger (Will be several Undead Hunting PrC's) Level 2
Human Artificer Level 2
Halfling Cleric/Healer Level 1 / 1

Awesome party. Weird, but not TOO weird.

- Rebis

Set in forgotten realms with an extensive background generation system invented by the DM.

Carenthal - Elf Cleric (Mystra) 1. He is hoping to become a Mystic Theurge.

Dolgun - Gold Dwarf Dragon Adept 1. The breath weapon of this class has already saved our collective bacon once so far.

Eldron - Shield Dwarf Ranger 1. Going to specialize in two-weapon fighting and Undead Favored Enemy feats. Should be interesting.

Kamist - Human Sorcerer 1. Going to specialize in force spells.

Noraa - Human Rogue 1. Going to add levels of Swashbuckler and use the Daring Outlaw feat.

Storn - Shield Dwarf Fighter 1. A Dwarf wielding a great falchion.

Trogdor - Human Cleric (Lythander) 1. Hopefully, our Undead destroyer.

Valcrist - Human Spellthief 1. Taking crossbow-related feats.

Set in Mulhorand, the fantasy Egypt-themed corner of FR. Just entered the Whispering Cairn

Human female cleric 1 of Horus-Re, wants to be some undead-fighting prestige class
Human male warmage 1, wants to blow things up
Tiefling male swordsage 1, wants to be an assassin
Human male cleric 1 of Thoth

A blaster, two clerics, and a sneaky kung fu fighter with swords walk into a cairn...

No one opted to be from Diamond Lake, even when I tried bribing them.

My campaign is set in Greyhawk, and all players have some roots in Diamond Lake - which makes for very nice roleplaying in WC and TFoE. Specifically, the party consists of:

Rickas - human male Favoured Soul of Kord, a former miner and overtly self-confident. Mightily swings a great greatsword. He will just love CB.
Brother Clavis - male human Crusader/Cleric of WeeJas (aiming for Ruby Knight Vindicator), stern and strict. Strategically minded, he opted for a glaive.
Pallas - male human Paladin of Pelor, curious and not quite totally LG. Classic longsword and shield. Sun devotion feat.
Emryss - female human Ranger, a bit greedy, zynical and determined. Archery, favored enemy undead, trap expert (Dungeonscape)
Sama - male half-elf Sorcerer, frequently drinks to much and loves to cast color spray. Celestial heritage feats.

So: Undeads beware! This party totally owns undead of any sort. Still, we had a very close call to TPK when they were level 1 and decided to touch the earth elementals "egg" while being wounded. After this, the sorcerer had 1 (!) hp left while all others were unconsious. Lucky acid splash!

Well, as of 3/4 of Kings of the Rift completed, the characters at this point are:

Scratch: male changeling artificer 18 and his best friend Cleaver: male personality warforged fighter 18 (played by one player)
Karl Gringott: male half-orc werebear barbarian 11
Abacus: male personality warforged cleric of Kol Korran 18

The roster has changed alot since The Whispering Cairn due to some players not being able to continue playing for one reason or another, and others joining up. 2 characters have died and stayed dead. 4 (including the DMPC cleric that has been around since WC) have gone on to rescue a 5th PC who went missing while in the town that is now the host of the Demon Tree Malgarius. Scratch and Cleaver are the only PCs that have been through the entire campaign. They both died during the Library of Last Resort, but were raised from the dead by the DMPC cleric. The campaign has been running since August 2005.

Dark Archive

Aghata - N Female Human Bard/Psion/Virtuosa
Daedalath - CE Male Half-elf Ranger/Assassin
Graizzt - CN Male Human Psychic Warrior

We're also in the wonderful world of Greyhawk (first campaign in this setting which I have undoubtedly enjoyed).

We've started Champion's Belt last session and the party has changed a lot too since the Whispering Cairn due to players leaving and stuff. The only PC that has been throughout the whole campaing up to this point is Aghata.

Phew big party...but the good news is I've brought 3 brand new players into the fold. So I've got half that are relatively experienced leading the other half, that are...well let's just say sometimes I wonder where their minds are.

The Experienced -

Durn - (Elf Sorcerer 2) - The most experienced rp'er, focus on evocation
Tobias - (Half-Orc Fighter 2) - More human than orc, focus on finess two-weapon fighting
Tanis(clever :/) - (Human Ranger 2) - Archery specialist

The Not-So-Experienced

Tim(another clever name...guess the player's RL name...) - (Human Cleric of Pelor 2) - Main healer, almost refuses to do anything but heal
Senri - (Human Druid 2) - Wolf animal companion, still learning the concept of "preparing spells"
Moon(there is more to his name but I'm forgetting atm) - (Human Rogue 2) - Lockpicker extraordinare

So far, we have just finished up The Whispering Cairn, and I am honestly worried about these guys going into TfoE...but maybe they'll surprise me. Good luck to all the other DM's out there!

Running the campaign in GH, all PCs based in Diamond Lake. Many players cannot make it to each session, so we have a pretty large group. Our players are more old school, and do not play much with exotic classes and races.

Currently finishing the Champion's Belt are:
Human Paladin of Pelor 6th (just raised...)
Dwarf Fighter 8th
Dwarf Fighter 4th/Sorcerer 3rd
Human Sorcerer 7th
Human Cleric of Kord 4th/Barbarian 4th
Human Rogue 8th
Human Wizard 8th
Human Monk 7th
Human Druid 7th

6 others dead. RIP.

My group just finished Spire of Long Shadows. It looks like that will be the end of the path for us. Last month the DM said he was tired of running published adventures and would create his own adventures for the rest of the campaign. This month he put the campaign on indefinate (I suspect permanent) hiatus. The party at the end of the campaign included:

Abellard Ironfist, NG dwarf conjurer 6/ Alienist 7
Snozbury, CN gnome rogue 12/ shadowdancer 1
Hennah, LG elf paladin 12
Bert, LG human ranger 12

One might reasonably ask how a party of 12th and 13th level characters could complete the Spire of Long Shadows. It certainly wasn't because of our superior tactics or particularly powerful character builds. I suspect our DM has been taking it very easy on us.

We're running an Eberron version of the campaign translocated to Karrnath. Here's our team as of Hall of Harsh Reflections.

Gottleib: Warforged Cleric 5 / Sovereign Speaker 2
Workgroup D: Warforged Fighter 2 / Barbarian 4 / Warforged Juggernaut 1
Sorra: Human Druid 1 / Dragon Shaman 6
Octavius: Changeling Binder 7
Morus: Human Beguiler 7

And, in loving memory:
Doro d'Jorasco: Halfling Warlock 4. Lost to the death touch of Grallak Kur, priest of the Keeper.
Karver d'Orien: Human Ranger 2 / Rogue 2. Torn apart by a summoned servant of the Faceless One.

Apparently, it doesn't pay to have family in this game.

Well, finally started the campaign for real this past weekend after our party managed to defeat Adimarchus, successfully wrapping up the SCAP after almost 3 years. Now, a new band of misfits seeks to save the world(they just don't know it yet!) Allow me to introduce you to them...

Joshua(Human male Cleric 2) - A young priest of Pelor, and the only native of Diamond Lake in the party. Joshua has recently returned home on orders of his church to investigate both the odd rumors about undead in the hills surrounding the town, as well as the growing influence of the local order of St Cuthbert. He has considered establishing a church or shrine in town. Unfortunately for Brother Joshua, he is a bit claustrophobic...

Sylendira (Human* female Warlock 2) - A week ago, a burst of light was noticed in the hills west of Diamond Lake. Members of the town guard sent to investigate discovered only a young woman with no memory of how she got there or where she came from. Beyond even 'normal' amnesia, she seems to lack even normal emotions or personality. Neither the priests nor the druids in and around town can find any cause for her malady. Strange things have begun to happen to the young woman, including the ability to 'feel' magic, to walk upon walls, and to emit destructive blasts of energy from her hands. She has joined the party in hope to learn to control her budding powers, as well as perhaps find something that will jog her missing memories and emotions. Thus far, the only emotion she has found has been fear, and almost unspeakable dread of tails, tentacles, and similar writhing things...

Moriyokiri, known to the party as Cuda (drow male rogue** 1) - An elf, by all appearances, but actually a drow transformed to look like an elf. A mysterious patron rescued Cuda from being transformed into a drider, and set for him the task of investigating the strange occurences in and around the town of Diamond Lake. His patron also told him to seek first the Whispering Cairn. Our budding rogue, however, has an extreme disinterest in getting dirty...

Nala (Elf female Fighter 2) - Nala has left her elven homeland, seeking instead of life of wandering, adventure, and thrill seeking.
She has recently taken to the life of a bandit, stealing from those she sees as being able to afford the losses. An expert with the bow, and a gambler, she has agreed to help the group with their investigation, but only joined the group after losing a bet to Cuda, betting he could not convince the next being to walk in the door to join the party...

Ixit (Poison dusk lizardfolk female Druid(shaper variant) 1) - The next being to walk in the door. Ixit recently came to the local druids seeking help in controlling her emerging shapeshifting talents, and to learn their lore. She comes of late from the Mistmarsh, her tribe a recent addition to the tumultuous warring tribes within that swamp. Originally mistaken by Cuda as the druids pet, she has joined the group to, if nothing else, prove him wrong...

Dar'shan (Human male Barbarian 1/Ranger 1) - This warrior has recently been working as a guard at the Emporium, having come to town to seek his fortune. He left his home city of Cauldron after witnessing demodands raining from the sky, and escaping a partially aborted volcanic eruption. He has sought greener pastures, perhaps hoping to find his fortune and wealth in Greyhawk City...

Imon Fen (Human male Spellthief 2) - A treasure seeker, and self stylized artifact hunter, Fen came to Diamond Lake invetigating rumors about the burial grounds near town. He believes that lost magic lurks below the ground, items lost for a millenia just waiting to be discovered. He sought out the group after catching wind of their intentions to also delve into the Whispering Cairn...

Oh yes, we're sticking with Greyhawk, as that's where our SCAP was run.

Couple side notes...
* - Sylendira is no longer fully human, having been chosen to undergo the transformation into an Elan. Like all else about her past, she does not remember this, but she has discovered she no longer needs to eat or drink.
** - Cuda is not an actual rogue, but is playing a rogue/swordsage hybrid we cooked up. He keeps the scouting, stealth, and trapfinding abilities of a rogue, and gives up sneak attack and several other rogue special abilities. He gains limited access to swordsage manuevers and stances, but none of the other special class abilities of the swordsage.

My assorted group of miscreants and malcontents currently consists of:

Kardashian of Dragon Downs - NE Vashar(BoVD) Rgr2/Fi2 building towards occult slayer PrC.

Carl - NE Changeling beguiler 4

Sharee - TN Changeling Scout 3 (carl's sister)

Tirillia'something something NG Sidhe Healer 3

Nicodemus CN Human Duskblade 3

We've lost a ratfolk gutter monk and a knight so far (players had other committments) and are still deep within the whispering cairn. The party is loving this game so far...

Been a while, time to update

Caellanna - 4th level Elven Ranger from Bronzewood - retired after 3FoE to become
Ivvyadora a 9th level Halfling Knight
Veritek changed name Jannis - 8th Human Warlock, assistant to Allustan wtih several close calls to death and one death.
Liam - 4th level Human Fighter 5th level paladin of Lathander
Matteo - 5th level Rogue/1 Swashbuckler/ 3rd level Spymaster, plotting to rule the world.
Kalla 8th level Gnome Druid (formerly Half-Elven), died after spitting in a troll's Face on the way to Waterdeep.
???????? - 7th level Asimir Bard.......only played twice....Not even sure of her name.

So far, my group is made up of a cleric of Pelor, a warblade, a monkish swordsage, and a warmage. The warblade is elven; the others (so far) are human. I've probably got another player or two coming in eventually, too.

Last night saw Dragotha's demise and the PC's started Dawn of a New Age. Here they are.

Lucius - Gnoll Ranger 9/Fighter 2/Pious Templar 10
Ziggy - Gnome Warmage 21
Diego - Human Fighter 10/Order of the Bow Initiate 10
Keth - Half-Orc Barbarian 1/Druid 20
Chalren - Human Cleric 14/Contemplative 6
Bootylicious - Human Barbarian 1/Enchantress 10/Mindbender 9

We just finished Three Faces... Ended up doing it in the wrong order did Hextor and Vecna first lost some players and gained some more for Errythnull (sp?)and ran into some trouble.

Currently there are 3 of us playing 5 characters.

Gunther, or Gunny as everybody calls him is a 4th Level Fighter, though he is more akin to a 4th Level Wall. Spends most of his time in CombatEx with a stupid high AC.

Therell, 4th Level Elven Wizard. Spends more time shooting his bow, ineffectually I might add then casting spells.

Forge, 4th Dwarven Cleric of some kind of Dwarven Fire God. He's been pretty good.

Grendel, 1st Level Barbarian/3rd Level Scout, umm player is a bit of a min-maxer, spends most of his time spinning and tumbling around with a glaive trying to get his skirmish bonus.

And

Rezzlo Rotundo... Yes that really is his name, and yes he is a Gnome, and even a Bard. 3rd level Bard/1st Level Rogue. I am the booster. I spend most of my time singing and running around screaming for my life.

The last couple of fights in Errythnuul's cavern were pretty hardcore. WE mopped up the Chieftain and his cronies but had a huge amount of trouble with the Cleric. He cast Hold Person on Gunther, who then got Coup De Gras by two of the Cleric's servants. In the end only Rezzlo didn't get dropped and with some deft dodging and weaving managed to revive both Forge and Therell who after some more beatings were able to drop the Cleric with a pair of Burning Hands spells and some beating. Being the Gnome Rezzlo has a fascination with all things shiny and I am trying to convince the DM to let me loot everything that isn't nailed down...lol And only because I don't have a crow bar to remove the nails.

Anyone got any advice on how I should level Rezzlo? The Bard class didn't work as I thought but I do like it a lot so any ideas if I should spend more time as a rogue or what?

Cheers,
J

Here's my Age of Worms party. We run in Eberron, and I've made extensive changes to the history and storyline of Kyuss and the Age of Worms to give it a uniquely Eberron feel.

The party has had some high profile exploits of late, and after the chaos and near-destruction of Sharn in the Champion's Belt, is looking to lay low and get to the bottom of things as they return to Diamond Lake...

Kale Dorindar, 11th level Human Crusader of Dol Arrah and Dol Dorn, Lawful Good
Rumors claim that Kale is a massive man, over ten feet tall with hands that can crush a man's skull. Legend has it that his body is seemingly indestructible. Well, Kale is over 6 feet tall, and he has survived some extreme punishment - and his sword, Twilight, bears a legacy of salvation and destruction. He's determined, if somewhat shortsighted and trusting to a fault.

Amonthorn Kadan, 11th level Elf Ranger, Lawful Neutral
Hearsay is that Amonthorn is so fast he can't be seen, that no trail is beyond his quarry, that he can leap to the clouds and walk up the towers of Sharn, and dodge a hailstorm of arrows only to answer with his own. A soldier first, his arrows are deadly and precise, his perceptions true, and he possesses a cynical insight proven right time and time again.

Arothir Angalnar, 7th level Aerenal Elf Warlock/ 4th level Enlightened Spirit, Chaotic Good
Supposedly, the esoteric Arothir is able to bend reality around himself, appear wherever he wishes - divide his being into multiple forms. He commands terrifying eldrich energies that sear flesh and wrack the mind. Truly, Arothir's power is a meld of fey and celestial influence, borne aloft upon wings of arcane power and able to see all things as they truly are.

Right now doing the Istivin Trilogy as a side quest in between Champion Games and Gathering of Winds. Should be able to keep them at the appropriate levels since they are averaging level 10 now, and am planning to have them finish the 3rd Istivin adventure after GoW, so that they should be around 12-13 for Spire of Long Shadows.

Current party members (7 PCs):

Halfling Rogue 5 / Swashbuckler 5
Human Cleric 6 / Radiant Servant of Pelor 4

Halfling Wizard 10
Grey elf Beguiler 9

There have been many PC deaths so far (about 12, 4 or 5 belonging to the same unlucky player who now plays the beguiler) and one TPK, at level 1, at the very beginning of Whispering Cairn, so was easy to restart.

The party is about to start a prequel to the Whispering Cairn. I run inthe Forgotten Realms set in the Shining South with the Free City as Unthalass. The party consists of:

We're in Greyhawk, another group begins the Age of Worms..

Melodious Loreseeker, NG male gnome bard 1, follower of Lirr, has come to Diamond Lake from Sagepoint to deliver a last message from his now deceased mistress to her longtime friend Allustan. There he meets...

Dorian, LN male human (Suloise)universalist wizard 1, the bookish apprentice to Allustan. He's told by Allustan to set Melodious up at the Able Carter Coaching Inn, but Melodious has other ideas so they head to Zalamandra's where they meet...

Lo Hung, LN male human (Baklunish)monk 1, devotee of Xan Yae and recently having recieved the title of Seeker of Self has come to Diamond Lake to learn himself better and thus move towards perfection. Meanwhile...

Sly, CN female halfling rogue 1, after speaking with Tirra the previous night has gone looking for some suckers she can con into going to a cairn she remembered. She sure isn't going to go by herself. She happens to see the three above fellows leaving Zalamandra's and heading towards the Feral Dog. "Oldimarra's smiling on me" she thinks as she begins to follow...

Meanwhile Lunalai, CG female elf ranger 1, comes storming out of Lazare's, after looking for this "other" female elf (as if), and being told to come back in 2 hours as the lady Tirra is not going to see anyone this early in the morning. Don't these humans know who she is? Her uncle is going to hear of this. Running into the group of males she finds her ill humor defused by a gnome showing almost proper deference to a princess of Celene, and accepts his offer of a drink. The group enters the Feral Dog where they find everyone still asleep including...

Bitoli, CG male human (Oerdian)fighter 1, having said "Screw it, I'm not going back to the mines to die like my dad" He wakes up when a loud little gnome is demanding service. Maybe these guys can help him find a better life? And it's, wait a minute, it's what time? Ah crap, I missed service, that damm dwarf is going to find me." he thinks. Just as ...

Johannsen, LN dwarf cleric 1, of St. Cuthbert, comes storming in the door. Just because it snowed last night is not an excuse to miss services and, wait, there's that halfling hiding in the corner, she needs religion and, huh? What do you want gnome?

I have a veteran group of roleplayers so I asked them all to create two concepts they could hit the ground running with. After I have them I will list the complete party as a surprise and then inform the PCs who them know and don't know.

I have a human Rouge who ran with a street gang in the Free city but was put in prison and exiled at 13. He is now a laborer in Diamond lake.

A Dwarf paragon who's father was an engineer in the dwarf mining group. one of his shafts caved in and he was fired. The PC looks after his now drunk of a father, working in the mines or doing whatever he can to make coin.

A half-elf bard who's mother is a whore in town, and a Kobold Druid who lives on the outskirts of town rounds out the concepts so far.

The first character death of many, if your group's experience matches my group's.

We have one player who is on his eighth character, and no one is playing the one he or she started with.

The sad thing is, I'm the DM, and I've been toning down A LOT of the encounters to try not to kill a character every single game session.

Grand Lodge

Just finished 3 Faces of Evil. Playing in Forgotten Realms as per the conversion guide. The party currently consists of:

Experimental game, obviously, with the question "Can a party of all witches succeed in an AP?"

So far, so good (only 1 game in, so far)

We are in the middle of the Lizardfolk lair in EaBK:

Ruul - Human Cleric of Pelor (aiming for Radiant Servant) 5
Earendil - 1/2-elf Wizard 5
Kip - Human Monk (aiming for Fist of Zuoken) 5
Balok - Human Rogue 5 - (my target for the "body thief" plot for HoHR)
Seigfried - Human Fighter 4

"Weasel" - Gnome, Wizard/ Warlock/ Arcane-Warlock prestige class - 18?

Not sure of some of the specifics like the arcane-warlock prestige class, I can't remember and it wasn't my character anyway.

Eldritch Theurge, from Complete Mage. I know because I have one in my current AoW campaign - but we're only about half-way through. How did that character work out in your campaign?

I was the DM in that campaign. It should be pointed out that Weasel was a cohort that didnt join the campaign until the party was 18th level. Weasel, to me, was proof that Warlocks are far from over powered. Mostly he just sat back and did his 18-25 points of damage a round. Which at that point was pretty un spectacular.

We're currently running The Age of Worms with a terrific party- folks I've been gaming with for over a decade now.

We are-

Jane- female human Druid 11 (shapeshifter variant)
Archie- male human Ranger 11 (archer)
Long Fist- male half-ogre Sentinel 11 (mash-up of NG Paladin/Monk)
Scar-Eater- male human Duskblade 11
Tyrrell- male human Rogue 11
Riddle Whoreson- male human Chosen 11 (cleric variant)

...The Infidels!

I started my second run of AoW two weekends ago. This time I've put a different spin on it by setting it in a d20 Modern Supernatural/Dresden Files world. The characters (all human) are: Daniel Riverbend - Dedicated 3/Shadow Hunter 1; Leon Cooper - Fast 3/Gunslinger 1; and my GMPC Nicodemus - Smart 3/Mage 1 (Evoker). After some background discussion and much hilarity during the car ride, the trio of hunters made their way to Diamond Lake, New Jersey with plans to investigate reports of a haunted mine.

Diamond Lake in a modern setting all but begs loudly for a masked lake-dwelling murderer of teenagers ...

Sounds like fun!

I played the whole campaign in 2006.. Now I am about to GM it..
We start in the end of January..

The party is:

Human monk.. A young boy whose mother was a borthel slut and father a criminal.. He grew up among gutthroats, thugs and alike.. He grew up in the worst way in Diamond Lake.. I came in some troubles.. and wanted to flee to The Free City.. But he failed.. In the dark night he fainted in the woods.. To wake up in The Twilight Monastary and there he found the meaning of his life..

Human cleric.. Young boy grew up in a common family in Diamond Lake.. Father a miner, mother a barmaiden.. Their only son found his way into the garrison as a helping halp in the Heronious chapel..

Dwarf druid.. Lives in the mountains northwest of Diamond Lake with a minor tribe.. They have an absoluteley clean and fresh little lake from the mountains.. He joined the Bronzewood lodge and that way found some trips to Diamond Lake.. Also for supplies..

Elf Wizard.. From Celene.. Evoker.. He works for Allustan for doing the slavish things a wizard has to do.. He loves gamling and dragonchess.. His way of being social, cultivated and meet new people.
