I am currently making a mega dungeon for a bunch of Hack and slash kinda Roleplayers, the dungeon they will be doing is a Level 20 Dungeon20th level characters can make their own demi-planes, but they're still mindlessly going into dungeons? Words fail me. Well, he said that it is a hack and slash type of Mega Dungeon and sometimes mindless - no big overarching plots, etc - fun can be the best fun!
I DM'd both and they both were a blast! The only thing I can say is that it depends on your group - especially with AoW. If you have a party of folks who want to roleplay, buy businesses - I had one dude who wanted to take over the Greyhawk arena - etc, then this is NOT the AP for you. If you have a group of folks that like to duke it out with cool undead, giants, dragons and a god, then you'll love this one.

It's been over a year. That's more than long enough. Continuing to hate on something, unprovoked, at this point is not healthy. Dang thats FUNNY! I play both 4e and 3.5e/pathfinder - and I still find this funny! Its not insulting, its just a little humor - maybe some may find it a little off color. But come on lighten up...its just a game. BTW - dont respond to me and say 'its this or that', or find anyway to justify your outrage - I dont care and I wont respond...
I dont know how true this is but according to the Maryland (my home state) Dealers Association, dropping dealerships will do almost nothing to save Chrysler or GM money. Apparently they are franchises and 90% of their profits go back to the car companies with almost no overhead. There is a dealership in Montgomery County MD that was started at the end of WW 1 that received the bad news and they have over $2M in cars on their lot.
I wonder why the erosion of property rights doesn't disturb the general public. It almost never comes up in political discourse, but it's happening everywhere. Because the average Joe (and Josephine) quite frankly isnt smart enough to understand what your talking about and dont care - until it happens to them of course. It would mean - God forbid - that they might have to miss american idol this week to read about something.

The Age of Worms ended in deafeat for my players and has seen Kyuss ascendant: PC Name: Ghostwolf; 21st level Warlock/1st level Enlightened Soul
Ghostwolf sacrificed himself in a – futile – attempt to destroy the Wormgod. Ghostwolf allowed his ally Helohm Umlocham to overload his Staff of the Magi which inflicted a massive 432 hit points of damage to Kyuss! This resulted in Kyuss casting time stop to cast harm on himself 3 times! After that Ghostwolf’s surviving companions decided retreat was the better part of valor and teleported away. PC Name: Dominic Cornelius; 15th level Cleric of Heironious/5th level Thaumaturgist/2nd level Hierophant
Dominic Cornelius was beheaded by Kyuss and then resurrected via a wish scroll, a few rounds later he was killed by a Divine Blast and resurrected again by yet another wish scroll – two deaths and 2 lost levels in one battle! PC Name: Sarina; Celestial Human 18th level Favored Soul of Heironious – Planar Cohort
Sarina was slain by Kyuss – Divine Blast and Horrid Wilting – and was revived by Dominic Cornelius – Revenance and True Resurrection. PC Name: Mebad Heehaw; Half-Orc 20th level Barbarian/1st level Fighter
While not technically killed by Kyuss, Mebad was imprisoned under Kyuss’s tower – since the Heroes of Fate fled from the Wormgod, it is more than likely that Mebad’s fate will not be a pleasant one.

Iona was disintegrated by N’vesh-n’kar, the Apostle of Kyuss. After the heroes of fate quit the field, Sir Guy dutifully had his love resurrected. Note: This was the second time in the Apostle Caves that Iona was slain – the first time was when she failed her save vs. N’vesh-n’kar’s death trap and was brought back via a revivify. At the wrong end of both a Raam’s trample and Brazzemal the Burning’s fiery breath, Sarina was sent to her eternal reward. However, fearing the advent of the Age of Worms, Sarina returned to the mortal realm.

Fourman fell in battle with the Dolgaunt minions of Tharizdun that were defending the underground temple of the Dark God. Caught in two Blade Barriers will do that.
My wife likes to watch Lifetime Movie Network CONSTANTLY - I can't remember the specifics - I block them out, lest I find myself jibbering like a victim from a Lovecraft story - it suffices to say that if you made movies with titles like: 'I hate men' or 'men are pigs' you would have the jist of them all

While heading into the southern section of Kongin-Thulnir, the party was ambushed by Xyzanth, the Wyrm Fang Dragon. After a brief and violent struggle - 4 rounds - the heroes were able to drive Xyzanth off, but at a terrible price: Bubba-Chomp, planar Cohort to Brother Dominic Cornelius ended up on the wrong side of the dragon's lifedraining maw.

Slain in battle vs. the swords of Kyuss and a mature adult blue dragon – while in the form of a remorhaz, Seamus was nearly done in by multiple invocations of the worm. Slain in battle by an Angel of Decay – after battling a virtual horde of the swords of Kyuss, Helohm was felled by the claws and rotting aura of an angel of decay. PC Name: Sir Guy Ashmore (aka: Saint Guy the Trapspringer); 14th level Paladin/3rd level Human Paragon
Battling multiple swords of Kyuss and a mighty blue dragon, Sir Guy goes down fighting in an explosive fashion.

While fleeing in confusion, Seamus was slain by the Night Twist’s half-fiend treant guardians. Seamus was reincarnated after his companions were victorious and now views the world as a dwarf. Note: This is Seamus’ second death on Tilagos Island.
I'm about the introduce Tigalos Island in my campaign, and I see the nightmare beast as an easy kill. Heck, with my group, I might have to add one or two extra nightmare beasts just to make it believable. A party of 16th level slayers concentrating their might on one CR 18 foe is no contest at all. Just my initial thoughts. Once the moment of truth arrives, I suspect I'll make a variety of adjustments to suit the campaign. Trust me, you'll have to - so far my guys have battled: 1). The ropers - one was REALLY advanced - tough fight
I suggest redoing Harrowdeath's feats - maybe quickened L.Bolt, or empowered C.lightning? And raising his Charisma - at the least
Did anyone else run into this? Tonight my PCs tore right through Harrowdroth the Nightmare Beast (Island of Last Resort). I'll admit he did do alot of damage in melee, but for a CR 18 encounter he was weak! I've been playing DnD for a fair amount of time and I remember the Nightmare Beast from Dark Sun as being an actual terror! If memory serves, it was: 1). The Dragon

I hope there are a number of McCain supporters out there who are willing to take their candidate to task. Are you serious? You believe that a couple of dumb jokes against DnD players by a staffer is the same as racism against generations of people? My friend you need to consider your posts - and thoughts - more carefully. This is like comparing a splinter to a beheading...I agree with both David Fryer and Shadowborn on their 'counterposts'. D&D1979, your outrage is selective and your comparison is perposterous.
I really could not care less what either candidate thinks about my favorite hobby. I am FAR more concerned about what they plan to do to get the prices of gas and food down so I can spend more money on said favorite hobby. And saying that just because somebody doesn't like something that they're going to try to ban it is ludicrous. I'm no fan of professional sports, but were I to wind up in office, banning pro sports wouldn't even be ON my list of things to do. Lowering taxes (a Polish-style 15% flat tax would be my ultimate goal, here), pushing for both more domestic drilling and alternative fuel research (via some generous tax incentives), hunting down terrorists in Afghanistan, getting Iraq standing on its own two feet, allowing parents to choose which schools their kids attend via school vouchers, getting rid of the idea that people in this country have a right to never be offended by anything that supersedes the first Amendment (I'm looking at ALL of you on BOTH sides of the aisle on that one. The gays can parade, the neo-Nazis can spew their hideous rhetoric, AND the Christians can put up their nativity scenes, and ALL of you will get no traction doing anything but TALKING about it. And I don't mean through lawyers in court!) securing our borders (and then streamlining the legal immigration process; come on in, just let us know who you are and where you're from) and setting up a solid nuclear-based power grid (Who'da thunk the French would have the answer on this? In a vacuum, my money would have been on the Germans) would be MORE than enough to keep me busy. Timespike - throw in term limits for congress and I'll be nominating your a$$ for president! Naah...Conan would be mad cos Kirk stole his girl. Then he'd charge Kirk, and Kirk would do that thing where he falls on his back and flips him over with his feet. Then Kirk would chop him in the neck, and that would be it.James T. Kirk would need a phaser. Without the phaser, Conan would kick the crap out of Kirk. They teach that move in Army Infantry hand-to-hand combat training - its called the 'monkey flip'. When the instructor asked us if we knew what a monkey flip was everyone just shook their head no - then he said 'you know, the Captain Kirk flip' and started with the Start Trek fight music, then EVERYBODY new it then including some south Koreans!
No, but primarily because I only have the money for one edition, and I went with the one I've already spent over a thousand dollars on. Yes like you I have spent approx $1k on 3.5e - the other DM has as well (maybe even more, he sunk a huge chunk on codemonkey) - I'll more than likely be spending a buttload more on 4e before I know it as well as more 3.5 stuff (of course Mrs Mayr will not be happy to hear that!)
Just a quick question - which I kinda hesitate to ask - is anyone's group planning on playing both 3.5/pathfinder, etc AND 4e? Let me clarify: my group has 2 DM's (myself and another), currently I am DMing AoW. When we are finished the ‘other’ will run a 4e campaign, and this will continue (after that I will most likely run RotRL 3.5). No one in my group understands the 'edition wars' or why they have gotten so nasty - So I was wondering are we the only bunch of 'neutrals' out there?

Wow! Alot of good bands mentioned here - most gamers I know dont like metal. I have been a huge Judas Priest fan (WARNING OLD GEEZER ALERT!) since I first heard 'Unleashed in the East' on some friday night metal show. This of course led me to Iron Maiden, Saxon, Black Sabbath and Rainbow/Dio. Lately I have really been into Iced Earth, Dragon Force and Deathklok. Bands I have not seen here: - Halford

After a rough battle against the Kyuss Knight Nezzarin and his Eviscerator Beetle ‘pets’ the heroes continued into the Spire. Sir Guy opened the door to the Halls of Knowledge and was felled by an Invocation of the Worm and two sword swinging Undead bad guys in one round. PS: This is Sir Guy’s second death – and resurrection in two gaming sessions!
