Another day, another dollar.
Still no Dungeon.
Stupid post office.
Maybe the post office, maybe some karmic payback... after all, you started the "128 Online Supplement ETA?" thread before the supplement for 127 was out. The world often forces patience on those who joke about it. ;-) Heh!

I live in Pittsburgh, and I got mine on Tuesday.
It's one of the best, IMHO. The gladiator information is just amazing. I've always wanted to run something straight out of the film Gladiator, and now all the work is done for me!
The froghemoth is a brilliant touch. Classic monster!
Dungeon is awesome. I was a fool to wait so long to get a subscription.

I'm in Lebanon, IN and I got mine yesterday.
Same here. I only got about a quarter of the way through the new AoW module, and it looks comletely awesome. Only complaint so far is that the friggin mail carrier must have walked around with it folded in half in his bag or something, because the mag is sporting a big, ugly vertical crease right down the middle of the whole thing. Gah... oh well. ::perk:: Lebanon, huh? Don't suppose you're looking for players? I posted on the Gamers Connection board a few days ago.

What you complaining about? At least you have yours.

Hey, man, don't blame me if your postal carrier's slower than mine. Maybe it's because he's being careful not to friggin bend the hell out of yours. I'm just sort of *funny* about my books and magazines. Don't like creases, bends, tears, smudges, etc. They're unavoidable, I know, but sheesh... they drive me crazy. If I didn't use my books *constantly* then I'd probably have them tucked away in vacuum sealed plastic pouches in a dark storage closet somewhere.

If only this were true, but more often then not my Dungeon is bent by the time I get it. I think the post office has a guy whose job it is to bend all the periodicals.

You and me both, brother. I don't know how some people write in their books. I could barely bring myself to put the signed plate on the insider cover of my Shackled City HC.
What really irks me is people that break the spine on their books. Even if the books aren't mine. I just want to slap them upside the head.

If so, he should be executed in a slow and painful manner.

Something in me wants to snap and fly into a bout of "hulk smash" when I see someone open up a brand new book right to the middle, then break that spine. It sends a shiver up my back. My wife nearly collapsed one time when she accidentally *STEPPED ON* my PHB that had somehow been left on the floor beside our gaming table after a session. It was a bizarre combination of laughter and completely apologetic supplication due to the look of "absolute horror" on my face as I pointed out what she had done. And, to clarify, this wasn't her just setting her foot down on it as she passed by... every ounce of her body weight was, for a brief moment, focused through the heel of her foot directly on the center of one of my near-pristine condition core rulebooks. Needless to say... yes, I was horrified. The compensatory neck and shoulder massage she gave me later was, IMHO, entirely appropriate and very *nearly* made up for the whole matter.
P.S. - Yes, I fully realize that I am a complete and total nerd. No further comments to that regard are necessary, thank you.

Of course, after posting yesterday, I found it waiting for me in the mailbox. My carrier folds EVERYTHING and RUBBER BANDS it so the crease is nigh permanent. Oy.

Hey there... bends, tears, scribbles, and even broken spines are marks of a well-used and loved book.
I used to try to keep my books in pristine, mint-quality condition, but who was I fooling? These books aren't collector items to me... they're the meat and potatoes of the games I run.
I've got my name written, stamped, and clearly marked on each of my books, and, though none have broken spines (yet), my most often used books all have scraped corners at least.
So, keep your slapping hands to yourself.
The one thing I absolutely cannot stand is intolerance.
Think about it... :)

I was going through parts of my old 1st edition AD&D Dumgeon Master's Guide the other day, looking up all the old insanity/drinking rules.
I became horrfied. . . after I noticed that I was missing a couple pieces.

Drat! I live in the FL Panhandle and had to do that for issue 127, which arrived Tuesday. I really, really hope I don't have to do that again for issue 128!! I sure wish Paizo offered a different shipping option besides USPS, because I'd definitely pay to get my issues delivered when they're supposed to be delivered. (Hint, hint.)

I'll do that if it doesn't come tomorrow.

Reading through this thread I noticed someone looking for a gaming group, VedicCold from Indy I think it was. I'm here in Albany IN, about 70 miles N/E from you. We game every saturday and there is room for you if its not too far of a drive.
Well, the drive's not so much an issue. I am, however, running a SCAP campaign every other Saturday night. I've got a thread titled "Indianapolis, IN - DM desperate for a chance to just PLAY" up on the Gamer Connection board that tells a bit more about my situation. My Saturday games are every other week (running tonight, as a matter of fact), but they don't begin until 5:00 PM. Also, my wife plays as well, so there'd need to be room for two. Lots of little complications that have made it difficult for me to find a group since I moved to Indy. If you could send more details about your game (setting, homebrew Vs. published material, level of characters, how many players you have, etc.) via email to VedicCold@aol.com, I'd be much obliged to ya. If it seems like too much hassle, then just let me know that, because I totally understand, and thanks for the offer one way or another!

Seems like the "benefit" of having the first one arrive a little earlier than the usual USPS (because you've upgraded the shipping) would be offset by still getting all the remaining issues 30 days apart. You'd be paying a lot for that first one to arrive a little early.
And sure, you'd have your future issues a week or so ahead of other people... but it doesn't seem like that would be much of a benefit. Could you play any faster if the rest are still 30 days apart?
Perhaps of interest, the ability to delay gratification is the single best predictor to future success in practically all areas of life. It serves one well to develop patience. :-)
(And I'm certainly not just saying this just because I already have a copy of #128 in my grubby mits... but partly because it's funny as well as being true. Heh! ;-)

(Easy for you to say, when I STILL don't have my issue 128.);)
I appreciate the patience reference, which I agree with. :)
(I don't appreciate the hassle of having to request a replacement issue after having to request one for issue 127, which was sent 8 days _after_ issue 128 was supposed to have been sent and which arrived three days ago.)
Oh well, I'll be patient and give it a few more days.
:)

Me too, Rill. If I don't get mine by say, next Monday (I don't mean tommarrow monday, of course), I'll contact customer service. But, Vic, when would be the "cutoff point" when we should contact you about a missing issue?
Thanks,
WaterdhavianFlapjack
I haven't received mine either. I'm in Florida and I usually get my issue two weeks after the shipping date.

-Vic..
Well sir, still no 128.
Did you mean wait three weeks, or to wait until Monday, Oct 17th to ask for a replacement?
I've checked my shipping address and it's listed correctly, but this looks to be the second replacement request for me in two issues. I received my first issue but had to order a replacement for the second and now it looks as though I'll have to do the same for my third issue (128).
Is this just happening in the Gulf Coast? (I live in P'cola FL)
?

No joy here in Central Georgia. I had the same problem with #127, and called CustServ who were really awesome about sending out a replacement copy. I got that three-four days after with the improved postage/mail class, and then the original arrived a day after THAT. This month I'll be sticking it out for another two weeks to see what happens.
If it were to become an option, I'd gladly pay an additional fee for swifter, more reliable delivery. The product and writing more then justify the expense.
