I don't think it has even been shipped yet?

Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Pathfinder Adventure Subscriber

Schedule shows it shipping this Friday (Sept 30).

Are you kidding? I just got 127!

I suspect Gen Con pushed them back a week. Usually, Dungeon ships to subscriber's around the 21-24 of the month.

Nothing to do with Gen Con. The 2005 schedule was set in 2004; if you look at all of the ship dates for the year, you'll see there's a fair amount of wobble, and no "usual" date.

Usually you ship on a Tuesday. And you just recently had a mistake saying that Dungeon was going to be appearing on newsstands Sep 2 but later on after that date passed, fixed it to the 13th.

Tuesday has been your staple. Why the change now?

You're right - we do. But sometimes it's the third Tuesday, and sometimes it's the fourth. (This is because 52 weeks doesn't divide evenly over 12 issues, so we get five weeks between ship dates sometimes). So the actual date slides quite a bit - looking at the schedules for issues 118 to 129, the ship date was as early as the 15th and as late as the 23rd.

Issue 128 shipped to subscribers on 9/20, not 9/30. The website has been corrected.

Sweet! Maybe #127 will arrive before #129 is shipped! Go Intl Subs ;D

Hopefully once they start coming they'll be a 'regular' period apart.

Well i picked up issue 128 yesterday at my local store, seems we in the uk are lucky. Spent all day reading it i must admit that i think it rocks. The arena fights are cool and having to find time during the 5 day events to delve further into the understructure and caverns is gonna test my group.

Must admit im kinda anxious to see how my party deals with MADTOOTH the Froghemoth (big frog like monster) and the Apostle of Kyuss (ulgurstasta - fiend folio page 180), as both seem kinda tough encounters.

Hats off to Tito Leati for a great adventure, keep them coming

Ok Vic, where exactly can I look at all upcoming 2005 ship dates?

How big of a frog are we talking here? I got a pack of D&D minis a while back that game with a medium sized monsterous frog, would that work? Or is it one of them large suckers?

The froghemoth is a Huge aberration. Your best bet is to probably use a real bullfrog from the pond. If you don't wanna get your battlemat wet or risk having one of the smaller minis eaten, the fiendish T-rex (see left) works fine.

I meant the past dates, which you can see in the back issue listings. That covers January through November cover dates. (The December issue - 129 - ships to subscribers on 10/18, and the newsstand release date is 11/8.)

OK, I am a subscriber and I still haven't received #128 as of today, 10 days after it shipped.

What's up?????

I usually receive my issue 3 weeks after ship date. Where do you live? Most US subscribers receive theirs about 2 weeks after ship date.

In Florida, you?

Still haven't got it here in the Bay Area. Do you know the ETA, Vic?

BTW, how good in the Shut In adventure? It caught my eye.

I live in Vancouver, Canada. Hence the extra week it takes to get here.

I don't have it yet in Virginia. I don't think it mailed out until the 20th and it usually takes full two weeks to arrive here.

To anyone who has issue 128 already:

I am considering turning the rival adventurers into serious rivals of the PCs. They are now working for Smenk and the PCs just captured a pleading Dourstone after exploring the temples under his mine. I want the rival adventurers to interfere, claiming they captured Dourstone, exposed the cultists, etc., so the title of the mine can be passed to Smenk as a reward for rooting out evil. However, my party already eyes them suspiciously and this may turn them into outright enemies. Anyone who has read 128, will this negatively affect the events of that adventure? I heard that Auric made an appearance in the Free City Arena.

Once we ship it, it's up to the post office; most US subscribers seem to get their copies within 14 days, though mail to the Gulf Coast area seems to be taking a bit longer than usual these days, from what we're hearing.

::Sigh::
I was certain that 128 would be in my mailbox after work today . . guess that provesto me that the only certainties are death and taxes.

I understand that nothing can be done once it's in the hands of the postal carriers, but, being in Michigan, I doubt the current Gulf Coast situation would delay my delivery.

Considering this is only my second issue of dungeon, I'm not sure of how long I should go before officially claiming it as lost . . .

Edit: Course, now that I've typed all this out . . . it'll probably show up tomorrow.

Waiting time. The horror, the horror!!

So far, I have read the first adventure "Shut In", which is a great urban module with (a) neat adversary(ies) and a very interesting storyline. Not enough combat for my taste, but still a great lil' twisted story.

The Age of Worms chapter, "The Champion's Belt", looks amazing! I haven't read it all yet (it's HUGE! from pg 31-62 in the mag). The maps look complex, and as I am reading, I have to reference where the various tunnels connect from map to map...which I like. Sometimes, maps almost become superflous.

And QBert, it looks like it would be easy to bring along the rival adventurers to the Free City and integrate them into any of the storylines of the arena. The statblocks of adversaries are a large part of why the mod takes up so much room, many templates and classed contenders for the Belt! I just spotted Auric and Khellek's stats, but I haven't read thru to see if the PCs have to fight them or what.

There's also the backdrop on the Free City and Part 3 of the Waterdeep Vampires "The Fireplace Level", still unread.

Trying to determine delivery times regionally just doesn't work, I'm afraid. In one case I'm aware of, one subscriber would get issues a couple of days after we ship, and a friend living on the same block would routinely get them up to ten days after that. It turns out that they were on two different postal routes. It really does come right down to the specific mail carrier.

A quick run down of the gladiators would be cool, nothing detailed, maybe Name, Race, Character Levels.

I'm hoping to see the stats for Orange Crush!

Thanks for the scoop, tipsy nomad! ;)

OK First up is a female elf Ftr 5/Wiz 3/Arcane Archer 1 w/three elf Ftr 5 archers in support.

Also, there is a human Bar 4/Drd 5 w/a dire badger and a pair of gnoll Ftr 2.

And a janni swashbuckler 3 w/a pair of human Ftr 5 all on warhorses.

All three of these bands come at once in the large arena...good luck PCs!

ROUND 2

consists of a pair of dwarf Bar 10 all tricked out with an array of magic stuff!

ROUND 3

something called 'MADTOOTH', that's all I can say.

ROUND 4

Auric and Khellek Ftr 10 and Wiz 10, respectively. Accompanied by some golems.

Then comes the massive underground section of the adventure...I won't give much away, but there is an Alkilith demon, (which I had in one of my last batch of proposals...no wonder it got shot down).

Sorry, I didn't see anything called 'Orange Crush'.

I'm a little disappointed in Paizo's unreliable magazine shipping schedules. Case in point Issue 127 of Dungeon only took 7 days to reach me from the listed ship date. Over one month late I still haven't received issue 128, 15 days from the listed ship date. Of course if it still hasn't arrived in the next 6 days I could always pick it up on the news stand

Just received mine in the mail today!

I'm expecting mine here in Indianapolis any day now. Was actually rather surprised I didn't see it yesterday, but if it hasn't gotten here by Friday I'm going to start suspecting one of my neighbors at our town-home community of pilfering our mail. It's been awfully slim the last several days...

I'm still waiting for mine in Kansas, maybe, just maybe when I get back to my apartment I'll find it... Unless my roommate has been playing a trick on me and is hiding it like he did when I got my Shackled City package.

Paizo's schedule is very reliable -- they ship every fourth or fifth Tuesday, like clockwork. It's the US Postal Service that's unreliable and responsible for the variable shipping time. If the magazine was shipped as first or second class mail (or whatever USPS calls it), the shipping time would be reliable, but that would cost $$$ and subscription prices would be higher.

Liberty's Edge

I actually received my copy today and I live in Utah. Hopefully everyone else across the country has received theirs as well.
I have found Paizo's schedule inconsistant. I received 127 almost immediately but typically it takes around 2 weeks after the ship date to arrive. However, I can live with that.

Well, I don't know about 128, but 126 arrived a fortnight ago at my local newsagent. Typical, I start holidays 2 weeks after the arrival of the last one and 2 weeks before the arrival of the next.

Big frogs, huh? Could I just use a Cane Toad?

Obscure is correct - we consistently ship on time, to all subscribers simultaneously, every month. If delivery to your address is inconsistent, that's due to the postal service. But that's not to say we shirk responsibility. For US subscribers, we consider an issue late if it still hasn't arrived after two weeks - contact customer service, and we'll reship it. If it's late regularly, consider providing a different address to ship to, ideally one served by another postal carrier, preferably in an entirely different zip code.

If you move, let us know as soon as possible - you can change your address online at any time, or contact customer service - and more importantly, make sure you file the proper notification with the post office, who will forward periodicals for two months.
