Cuteness overload

3/5

Great as a stuffed animal, not so good as a dice pouch. It is a really tight fit and your not going to get much stuffed in here. Very disapointing but still cool as a stuffy.

Cute, but Needs a Hair Stylist

4/5

I picked up one of these (in blue) for myself and one (in red) for my son. They're essentially little stuffed animals in the shape of skittermanders, with a small zippered pouch in the back that is just big enough to hold a set of dice. There's also a metallic clip (that can be removed entirely) to hang it from a backpack. I think the concept of these is great, and they are really cute--my kid loves his. The only hang-up I have with them is that the tufts of hair around the face are really, really hard to style and often end up covering the eyes and nose entirely. I know it sounds like a silly complaint, but it's hard to get one to look like they do in the picture, and I think they could have been designed to avoid this issue. But that aside, they are really cute and a nice change of pace from the usual goblins merch that Paizo sells.

Very cool, but it only holds 1 set.

4/5

The coolest thing about this is that it's a Skittermander. The biggest down point for me was that it only holds one set of dice. I'm finding this is common with "cute fluffy thing holds dice", much like the cute red dragon, which is a shame because I want to show these awesome items off, but I've got the kinda dice collection with I take 5 sets to any game, regardless of actual dice needed.

I grabbed 2 on special, and am looking to give one to a friend as a present.

Cute but poorly made

3/5

There are some odd seems. The thread on one of the hands came off and on another hand the knot was on top of the top hand clearly visible. End of the fur fabric is just under eye and visible. They will hold a set of dice but I don't think they will hold up very well inside your game bag.

Interior dimensions?

We don't have exact interior dimensions, but the pouch is sized to hold a standard 7-die set of gaming dice. d4, d6, d8, d10, d00, d12, d20.

d00 = the 10-sided "tens" die. I just now realized that I don't actually know what that die is called! d%? d100? dTens?

Percentage die? I'd understand d%

So, roughly 3x5; 4x6; 5x8? Do index cards of those sizes fit inside it?

Yes, a % die is the d% and no, index cards won't really fit into the pouch unless you roll or crumple them up. This is really more of a plush critter that happens to have a small pouch to stash a single set of 7 gaming dice than a dice bag shaped like a Skittermander.

Chessex trademarked the name "Tens10" for them, but I think the most common name is "percentile d10."

I think "d%" usually refers to the pairing of a percentile d10 and a regular d10.

And "d100" usually refers to a golf-ball like die that actually has 100 "sides." (Zocchi trademarked the name "Zocchihedron" for their truly bizarre water-filled d100.)

Perfect! That tells me what I need.

Thanks

"percentile d10" it shall be, now and forevermore.

Thanks for the vocab lesson

Would you expect these to ship out for Christmas?

That's 7 'conventional' sized die, correct? Larger die may not fit, and smaller die may fit more?

Also, how strong is the inner pouch?

Can it handle/withstand the rigors of metal dice?

No, I'm not trying to weaponize a potential skitter purchase...

That seems like one of the worst fruit choices for scale. But it's about 9.5" tall, and I can just about fit three fingers into the pouch. Seems well-made enough for metal dice.

We don't have an exact date yet, but I think it'll be early 2020.

I don't suppose we could buy all 4 and get a slight discount? Lol

So the original post indicating November is wrong now?

I don't have anything to add to what I said: We don't have an exact date yet, but I think it'll be early 2020.

I could easily be wrong about that.

Any update on this?

I really wish you wouldn't put items up for pre-order if you have no clue when they will be available.

Silver Crusade

It helps them judge how many quanties they should have beforehand.

And if you preorder you're guranteed one rather than gambling with them selling out after they're released.

Agreed. I ordered in October thinking these would be nice stocking stuffers for Christmas. Now I have no idea if they will be here in time. Frustrating.

I try to add as a pre-order and it says "Your request has produced an error."

Try:

1) Clearing your cache
2) Clearing your Paizo cookies
3) Using incognito mode

Update: THE SKITTERMANDERS HAVE ARRIVED IN OUR WAREHOUSE. I REPEAT: THE SKITTERMANDERS HAVE ARRIVED IN OUR WAREHOUSE. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

We're checking in the inventory, and our warehouse will start lovingly packing these cute lil' critters into orders ASAP. We'll be sending them out as quickly as possible, but we still cannot guarantee arrival by the holidays. Select colors may run out and need to be restocked.

Hey James, I totally understand your position here but based on our pre-order numbers, more than 100 other people appreciated us putting up the pre-order when we did.

And as for us posting the delivery date, we tried to be a communicative as we could and posted each time we received an update from our licensee as to their delivery.

Prays for not being one of the unlucky ones that needs to wait for a restocked colour as it's one of the two on back order

I'm sad that I am unable to put it under the christmas tree for my wife, but I'm happy that it'll hopefully be on it's way soon.

Okay but are those two actually out of stock atm or are they "if we open the door to Katina's office we'll be immediately be buried alive in an avalanche of plush and fluff" out of stock?

Unfortunately they aren't like tribbles so Katina doesn't have a secret stash of them in her office. On the bright side, I've already placed a restock for them and we should be swimming in Skittermanders again in a couple of weeks.

When will these get out to distributors? I placed an order with my FLGS and they see them listed with their distributor, but no information as to them being in stock as of the last time I checked.

As these are UltraPro's products, not Paizo's, we have no insight into their distribution. We'll see if we can find anything out, though.

We checked in with UltraPro and they let us know that they've got plenty of stock on-hand to send out to distributors. It sounds like someone from the FLGS may want to check with the distributor, who in turn should be nudging UltraPro. If you happen to know the name of the distributor, we can pass that along on our end to attempt to get things moving.

That being said, we also have plenty in stock and a 10% discount code going on right now...

Just checked again with the FLGS and they checked again and none of the four warehouses of their distributor have any in stock. The distributor is Alliance. I have told the manager at the FLGS that they should nudge their Alliance Rep to contact UltraPro, but I don't think that has happened. If you can nudge on your end that would be helpful.

Thanks for the information about the discount code, but I get a better one from you already and I get an even better one than that from the FLGS. ;)
