Are there any rooms we have not searched on this level? What was in room E9 and the room just north of the great portal?


One was the "holo-room" and in the other one was the strange surgical treatment.

Only the secret door and the portal room are left on the lowest level.

I am still kicking back enjoying my Thassollian dictionary - this book is good enough that I bet I will be able to read, write and speak Thassollian by the time you guys get back to the Rusty Dragon.

After studying for a few hours, I head up to my room and change into the worn down look I used the prior day when I was interacting with the riffraff. Then I head out to see if anything is going on in town. I will keep an eye out for the sheriff as well as anyone from the Feedbag.

Seeing the large half-orc move to the point position, Perdition whispers some words of empowerment cloaking his hulking form in a dense magical aura. "That should keep that face from getting knocked in,Harry. Can't have the ladies looking at you like your buddy over there." he says gesturing to the other half-orc.

Cast Mage Armor on Harry, +4 AC/4hours, 7/8 1st level spells remaining

Slipping the cricket bat shaped club out its pocket on the side of his pack, Wildfire says,"You ever seen a more beautiful piece of work than ol' Peanut Butter, here." as he admires the flamed-maple finish of the well made bat. "Right useful bit of wood." he says with nod.


The door gives way as Harry and Kanyk begin to push. Dust particles dance in the light you have brought with you even though the air is rather moist inside here.
You follow the stairs into a room which has nearly collapsed into a large pool. The sound of sloshing water fills the room and the few walls which remained intact show detailed and impressive carvings or incredible treasuries filled to overflowing with coins, gems, jewelry, and other items of value. To the east the wall depicts a carving of a towering mountain, its peak carved in the shape of a stern face just above a great palace. Below, the side side of the mountain's valley cradles an immense city of spires. In the pool, the remains of what must must have once been an incredible treasurey lie in the sloshing waters. Shattered urns, crumbled stone chests, rusted bits of once beautiful weapons and armour, and other long ruined treasures from an ancient past lie below. Most impressive of them all is a large coral-encrusted helmet sized for a giant; the helm measures nearly five feet across, and its full-face guard bears an expression of twisted rage and fangs. The helm itself appears to be entirely made of gold.

On your walk through the town you meet the sheriff, speaking to an elderly man in front of the newly errected cathedral building.

Celestra casts detect magic and concentrates to see if anything radiates magic.

Somewhere in that pile is indeed a weak magic aura, obviously some minor protective device.

The animated helmet seems to watch the lights...and is taken aback a bit.

Shaking his hand - Father Zantus. I am honored to meet one of the Great Dreamers servants. While I am not a regular follower of any deity, many times during my travels over the past few months, I have given my thanks to Desna for surviving another days travel.

This is a magnificent temple for such a modest town. I am sure that it will draw many believers here and help Sandpoint grow to prominence.

Raising an eyebrow at the unexpected movement of the helmet, he shrugs and says to Harry, "Maybe it can talk,too?" Then calling to it in the tongue of giants he ask,"Hello. You have a name? Witing for its response he translates to Harry what he has just said.

The helm does not respond to the giant tongue, but moves now sideways...and then back...and sideways again...Harry is now pretty close to it...

I am originally from Brastlewark in far eastern Cheliax. However, had to leave when my views did not coincide with the ruling devils.

Since then I have been slowly traveling north and west, most recently crossing Varisia from Kovosa to here by land. Wandering, learning and entertaining my way across the land.

"I can still detect magic. I will try and find it, Mr. Handsome!" While Harry has the helmet occupied, Celestra steps into the shallow pool to try and find the object radiating magic. She will cast detect magic and concentrate again if necessary.

"Nice secluded nook and a fancy looking 'shell'? I reckon that is either one of them octopus that like to hide in shells or a bloody massive hermit crab. Maybe give it a little tap on the top and it could just try and run. Octopus and crabs aren't known for their bravery."

Kanyk reaches forward and taps the top of the helmet with his hammer, not hard but hard enough to make a clanging sound.

After Kanyk's "knock", the helm is lifted a bit and you can male out two pincers and a lot of legs...the half-orc ranger mus have been right, this is some kind of heavily armoured...even with helmet...giant hermit crab.
And for now it does not seem to be interested in leaving its habitat.
