Now this is a great product!
I bought the Bestiary Battle Cards and liked them very much, despite probably never going to play Pathfinder Second Edition ever again, because we played the intro adventure and did not like it.
But we played the Starfinder Intro adventure and the Dead Suns campaign and loved it, so i am going to get this and the inevitable "Alien Archive 3 & 4 Battle Cards" box too.

Ye mean the beginner box btw?
No, both beginner boxes look great, i have bought both the Starfinder & Pathfinder Second Edition versions (as well as the Pathfinder 1e version).
I mean "The Fall of Plaguestone" (which was so bad that no one wanted to play Second Edition ever again) and the very first free downloadable short introductiory Starfinder adventure, which was pretty nice.
I forgot the name, but it used an existing map pack.

I wouldn't call Fall of Plaguestone intro adventure, since while its first one yeah its also insanely high difficulty wise xD none of my party died but they did get captured by orcs at least once and there were several other close calls.
But yeah, I do recommend trying out beginner box adventure at some point if you can

I plan to gamemaster the Beginner Box (2e) for a few 18/19 year olds (one of whom i introduced to 1e when he was 12 and who still plays) as soon as we can meet in person again.
It looks exactly the right lenght and fun to introduce 2e to people who only played 1e so far. That way i can get fresh thoughts about what works better and what does not. ;-)Ravien999 |
Yeah! Really looking forward for this... My only doubt, many of the playable races included in the Starfinder Alien Character Deck are found on the two Alien Archives... are they going to be included here aswell, or for that you will need the deck mentioned above?
Entirely different focus. That deck is a set of playable races - and really only references for their abilities. Not a replacement for having the book, and a player-centric resource.
This will be a card stack of the statistics for each of the NPC/monsters presented in the alien archives, and will not have any use for playable race stats, only the NPC versions to use as a GM.

Are these (Starfinder Spell cards and Alien Archive Battle Cards) physical products only or are we getting a corresponding pdf/image file downloadable version too? I'll probably opt out of these if they are physical only.
All our cards have pdf/image file downloadable versions as of June 2019.

That's great, thanks Aaron.

Back of the box:
A BOX FULL OF ALIENS
Starfinder Alien Archive and Alien Archive 2 are excellent tools for planning exciting science fantasy adventures, but this box of 315 cards presents a new and exciting way for your extraterrestrial creatures to land on the table and join the fight. Each card features a beautiful, full-color image of a creature from Alien Archive or Alien Archive 2 on one side, while the other side provides that creature’s statistics for quick and easy reference. Show the players what alien menace their characters are facing while keeping the creature’s abilities at the ready, and watch your game come alive!

thought I was buying these just to support the brand but they've turned out to be much more useful than I initially expected. It's nice to pull these out along with pawns during prep when you know what you're going to be using ahead of time! Juggling statblocks in Archive of Nethys can be tough, but this allows me a bit more flexibility. Looking forward to more of these.
I especially appreciated that EVERY elemental is statblocked in the AA1 cards -- from tiny to huge. Grafts are one of the elements of Starfinder I hate, so it was great to get them all represented without me having to create them myself.

Hi there, it looks like the digital set has not gone into a sale price. Is that deliberate?
If it is, I can wait until later to buy them as I want to buy the Fantasy Grounds starfinder ruleset on steam whilst its so cheap.
We are trying to move physical product not digital with this sale. The annual holiday discount code sale will arrive soon. You can use that on digital products.
