Steve Geddes wrote:I didn't take James to be requesting people not answer general questions about the book's contents (I think it's fine to say something like "there's two archetypes and a bunch of feats for rogues").
I think the point was more not to go into too many of the gory details (like not: "Here's a cut and paste of all the feats a rogue might be interested in").
This is my understanding as well. So when I get my copy, I might say "the angelfire apostle is good if you like Sarenrae's themes and want more channeling/greater versatility when channeling*"... but not a bulleted list of what it grants and replaces. (Things were getting kind of ridiculous there for a while.)
*Just an example; I don't actually know what it does yet.
It's an admittedly fuzzy line, but this seems like a great example of talking about the book without laying out every detail. Thanks!

Questions about acceptable sharing of information from a product are better addressed to the Website Feedback forum. Ultimately, it is a fuzzy line, and thus everyone benefits from more clarity around what is and isn't acceptable or even preferred. Rather than rehash this in every product thread where someone requests readers to not spill all the details in a book, let's discuss it on its own thread. Moving the discussion elsewhere has been requested above; please honor this request.

As I saw this discussion on multiple threads and no thread for it yet in Website Feedback, I went ahead and created one here.

I've started to flesh out the new Eldest mentioned in this book on page 37 (Apholine the Flame, Enchar the Sign, and Oleron the Cancer) and stumbled over a question:
Under Oleron, the text mentions the "Great Consumption". However, I couldn't find any reference to that event, neither in this book nor otherwise. Does anybody know more? Does it refer to the "Great Abandonment"?

Nope, that's foreshadowing for something else I've written that hasn't seen print yet. :D

The Great Consumption was an era of drunken debauchery that followed the prior era during which the fey of the First World experimented with prohibition.
There was much rejoicing.

Cool, thanks!
Another question: Apholine disappeared to dwell in the sun's blazing glory, yet the First World doesn't have a real sun. Are these things in some way related? My working theory being, of course, that the First Sun is around somewhere...

Then I saw your name in the credits. ^_^
Ooo! OOOO! I had read a draft of a couple chapters from [REDACTED] a couple weeks ago, and so I understand that reference.

So what's the scoop on the reptilian merihza race? Stats? Background?
There is none. This was one of several races/monsters mentioned in passing in the overview of the First World text without providing any further details. It's up to a GM to further develop their culture, background, and stats if they want to build on that adventure seed.
