First case, Legendary Battles

5/5

Pros:
Prepainted miniatures, a ton of them. I got one case and now have enough goblins, kobolds, hobgoblins, bugbears and orcs to have a roving band for each.
The art is good for the most part. There's some flaws, especially around the faces, but the flaws are acceptable, and better than I'd do.
The price is good (though still high). Providing you're in the subscription (maybe save up coupons, too, I did get the holiday discount).
There's good guys, too. Elven rangers, dwarven rogues, halfling slingers, gnome sorcerers. They're really overwhelmed by the baddies but that's how most games are going to be (I imagine?).

Cons:
It's a ton of miniatures (128, with 32 large or huge ones). You're going to need some space.
The booster aspect. There's some rares and maybe even uncommons you may simply not get. Salt is rubbed in the wound when you end up with like 4 yetis (or another monster you do not need).

All in all, I like it, recommend it, for those who need it. Check the lists in the Product Discussion, or on WizKids, to see what's going to be showing up. If you want them, and have the money, pull the trigger. It's a good get.

Women are Cool!

4/5

In this day and age where it still feels like the gaming world is dominated by men, it's so refreshing to see a game publisher be more inclusive of women. I applaud the production of more female characters giving both men and women more options to choose from. I feel truly sorry for any individual who feels that a game suffers from the inclusion of more female characters.

Unbeatable Price, but not a Bargain

4/5

I'm a Subscriber and my second Case is on the way. If you intend to collect the Miniatures or play with them in your adventure Path the subscribtion is the best choice for you if following points seem to fit to you:
1. You have the Money to Spend 1000$ or a little more a year because you have to have in mind that there are 3 to 4 Cases coming out a year.
2. Getting Most of the Miniatures of a Set to below standard prices. Ordering a full case does not guarantee you to get all Miniatures to a set (though i have been lucky concearning that)
3. If you live in Germany....hell yeah ( A Case here costs roughly 700$ that is without the Premium)

After i got my first Case from the Toll collectors i can only advocate the Case Subscription if you are determined to get more than one Case just for fun.

I'm definitely against - given there's a specialised line for iconics we can now get more monsters in the core line without disadvantage get those who want humanoid figures - in fact they're now better off, since the iconics line appears to have a higher quality.

Creating multiple rarities of the same figure serves very little purpose, as far as I can see. If there's really demand for multiple sculpts, do it through the iconics line.

Silver Crusade Contributor

Against as well, unfortunately.

I'm glad we have the Iconic Heroes, and the quality is great. ^_^

I’m getting a different price for the Pathfinder Battles Ongoing Case Subscription depending on which set I choose. When preordering The Rusty Dragon Inn set I must pay $358.18. For the current Dungeon Deep set I must pay $279.99. Why the difference?

Grand Lodge

I've posted this and emailed several days later. It appears that Dungeons Deep is taking 30% off the 399.99 price. The Rusty Dragon is taking 30% off the $511.68 case price. It still hasn't been addressed.

Community & Digital Content Director

I'm sorry we missed this! There was a switch that didn't get flipped our end when the products were set up. I've since given it a prod and it should apply the discount properly (though our system does cache this, so the change isn't immediate). If you continue to run into problems, please let us know!

Grand Lodge

Thank you! It is still the higher price, but I suspect that will change soon. I originally thought that the subscription was the higher price and will now subscribe when the change takes effect :)

Grand Lodge

Unfortunately, it's been nearly a week and there's been no change in the subscription price for The Rusty Dragon Inn. I'm not certain how long the cacheing takes to clear up though.

Lantern Lodge Customer Service Manager

It looks like there is a larger issue with the Battles subscription code and not just the individual product which is wreaking havoc with prices for Rusty Dragon Inn. We've escalated the issue to the top of the tech team's queue so we can get it resolved before January subscription orders are spawned. However, subscriptions are not easy to work with because they affect so many different areas. We need to be very cautious with changes and thoroughly test new code or we risk doing some significant damage.

We will not authorize for this product before subscription pricing is corrected.

Thank you for your patience as we get this resolved!

Thank you Sara, Chris and Sharaya. I hate to be a bother, but I'm excited to subscribe. Hopefully this fix doesn't cause anyone too much grief.

hi guys, I'm excited to subscribe and order Rusty Dragon Inn case but it's still showing up as a 370.68 order instead of the correct $300. I don't really have time to wait for you guys to correct the mistake. I've waited nearly 3 weeks, and virtually every online seller has them listed for much cheaper (about $100 cheaper) so I'm going with them. I've talked to several players locally in pittsburgh, and they are in the same boat too. Its not worth the headache for them wondering if that $100 will be really charged or not. I would have bought 2 cases already, maybe 3 considering this is the most useful Pathfinder battles set ever released. I suggest fixing asap as you guys are losing holiday sales. Thanks and keep up the awesome work!

If this is the wrong spot for this, question, then please accept my humble apology.
Anyway, I have a question. Since 3D printers are coming down in price and some companies are offering programs for 3D printers to create scenery for RPGs, is there a possibility of your figures ever having the 3D printing option?

The issue with the price displaying incorrectly for subscription cases should be resolved now. Please let us know at customer.service@paizo.com or in the customer service forums if you still have issues with the price displaying incorrectly.

Thanks to everyone involved in clearing this up :)

with release dates as unpredictable as they are:
Is there a way to stall my case shipment untill a later point?
Customs gives ma 7 days to pick up a parcel, if that arrives while I'm on vacation
(I plnan that half a year in advance) they'll send it back.

This won't be a problem for my first case, bit migh happen with the second case this year.

We can suspend orders or subscriptions. It sounds like you do not need that done for this one, but for your next one, just ask customer service. Overall subscriptions can be suspended, and then you would let us know when you are ready for to be unsuspended. If an order has been generated (and there is an order number for it), it can be suspended until a certain date (or until you contact us).

For future reference, it is best to ask questions like this on the Customer Service messageboards or email us at customer.service@paizo.com. Thanks!

This is a lisensed product, you'd have to ask on e wizkids forums. but as

1) Being prepainted is the draw of these over the reaper minis
2) The quality of work from most 3D printers still not up to even wizkids sculpts
3) The fact that making minis is what wizkids does. it doesn't have a way to desseminate printer files
4)the breakup in rarity scheme would cripple the marketing strategy of the line.

I doubt these will ever be available as 3d printer files

Grand Lodge

After subscribing, when does the 30% off of loose, unpackaged Pathfinder Battles miniature singles take effect on my account? Will it be active with my first case shipment? Or is there different criteria?

The benefits of your subscription will start working once your first subscription shipment has been processed and sent to you :)

I had some time with a home 3D printer (LulzBot Mini), this article shows the quality you get. I think it would be fine for making mass armies, etc, but it's not yet up to the quality of Reaper/Wizkids.

Look for the lizard men in this post

The printer was super simple to use btw.

Hi!

I just placed a case subscription, but I see the same issue addressed above by Sara, Chris, and Shelby.

Can you please confirm $368 pricing is incorrect, and ~$300 would be accurate?

Thank you for the help!

Ben

I'm confuzzled myself it seems.

I'm thinking of getting a subscription, but I want to make sure I know(ish) what I'm looking at.
So, for example, the price I see for the upcoming set shows as $511.68 $399.99.

So is the 30% off of the 511 or the 399?

Grand Lodge

I suspect they will fix this for you. I had a similar issue with my order of the previous set. My subscription for Deadly Foes says 279.99.

My last subscription was $279.99 so I think $511.68 must be a recommended retail price or something - not "our price" of $399.99, which is what the discount operates on.

Pathfinder LO Special Edition, Maps, Pathfinder Accessories, PF Special Edition Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Starfinder Superscriber

IIRC, the RotRL set was MSRP $511.68 or so, but that set had some huge minis in addition to the normal case and premium minis.

Thanks. I kind of figured I would disregard the struck-through price, but some independent confirmation is nice. :)

As many have stated above I also just put the Pathfinder Battles Ongoing Case Subscription in my cart and it is showing as $358.18. Is this the correct price or not. Seems that it is still taking the %30 off the MSRP and not the "our price". I am just wondering what the real price would be before I continue. Thanks.

When will a list of minis be available for a given set?

We'll add previews of minis to each set's product page leading up to the release of a set. The full list will generally be released shortly before the release date.

I saw this in the FAQ, but it remains unclear to me. If I am subscribed, will a list of minis be available before it ships?

Shadow Lodge

I hate painting minis. So I like prepainted minis.

And thus it would be awesome if Paizo could partner with these guys to come up with a 'player characters' prepainted minis series... :)

I know this is an old question but it doesn't look answered.. every Friday there is a blog post about minis. This previews anywhere. From 1 to 6 of the. Minis in the upcoming set. Usually we have seen all of the minis about 2weeks before shipping the sets

my guess is that any deal would have to come after they fulfill the kickstarter. This allows paizo to use the. Kickstarter as a stress test

Here's a suggestion for WizKids (since I can't see a better place to put it): How about a Summoned Monster battle case?

I know both my friend and I would buy one, just so we had figures for all the random stuff that pops up ("Let's see... I summoned, three bralani azata... I guess we'll use a couple of plastic army men and the one pawn we've got.")

I seriously just bought myself the Shattered Star pack just to get all those elementals. So a single set with all the summoned critters -- priceless!

EDIT: OK, full disclosure -- I *do* have the Pawn set. All my players just like minis better than pawns.

The product page for "Ruins of Lastwall" has not been created yet.

I'll ask Mark Moreland, the franchise manager in the minis blog about it.

It should probably go up sometimes in the next two weeks.
I'll keep you posted! :-)

You can now.

The 30% off price for a subscription seems to be calculating from the $511.68 price for Ruins of Lastwall. Is this correct?

No, the 30% are subtracted from the "our price" of $399.99.

That means you'll pay $279.99 for a case subscription.

On top of that, you qualify for the "case incentive" and will receive it 75% off the $49.99, which means you'll pay about $12.50 for it.

I hope i could help you.

That seems to be a common problem with the most recent set as you can read a few posts before.

It isn't with sets that are already out.
If you write to customer service they should be able to fix that so it displays the correct price.

Never mind, we figured out the miscommunication. The display price is wrong but the actual price is correct (which I can't see until it charges me when the case is available).

Goos to know! At what point do you think I need to manually add the incentive box? Or will it add on with the booster case when the subscription kicks in? And do we know if the legendary encounters boosters are part of the subscription?

Normally the case incentive should automatically be part of the subscription as far as i know.

Only if you opt out, it isn't included.

The "Legendary Adventures preview pack" is (hopefully) an august product. Until a product page is created (probably around june), we don't know if it will be part of the subscription.
